F1 2017 Steering wheel problems (Logitech G27)
I am playing for the first time a racing simulator (F1 2017) with a Logitech G27 a friend is lending me (he never played a F1 game with this wheel, but said he has no issues on other games).
I tried out a lot of settings in the configurations of F1 2017 and on the Logitech profiler, but I still find the control of the steering very unprecise and impossible to drive precisely or have a realistic experience.
The best control I got when leaving everything at the calibration menu at 0, while raising the wheel weight to 60 and reducing to a minimum all other force feedback effects. I can handle the corners now, but on the straights, I have to constantly adjust to stay on the line and the driving feeling is just completely unnatural. Coming out of the turn back to straight is also a hassle. Basically, as soon as the wheel is at the range of -15° to +15°, everything becomes "wobbly".
I played around with the steering linearity, but it didn´t solve the problem, nor did changing the wheel rotation from 200° to 360°. I read a lot about the input lag of the steering wheel animation, which I can clearly see, but I wonder if my actual car reaction is also lagging. As I play on my laptop, I reduced all graphic details to the minimum.
I find the game totally stunning and would like to keep on playing as I started to become an F1 fan the last years, but at the moment it is not worth it. So if someone has some suggestions how to set up things properly, please let me know.
