F1 2017 Wont launch

When i launch the game in steam nothing happens. It says on my steam profile that i am in game but there is no window or anything. Checking task manager reveals that there is this under the details tab http://puu.sh/AsH2Z/a2c8bd2ce0.png. . However there is nothing in the processes tab.
Ive updated nvidia drivers, reinstalled the game (twice), verified game cache and let it through my antivirus and now im not sure what else to try.

Any help is appreciated

Had the same problem, had to uninstall the latest windows update. I also clicked on the suspend updates for 30 days option or it would just reinstall that update as soon as the computer restarted.

Not saying that this is your problem as well but I had similar indication in task manager just sitting there taking up 8% of CPU.

You're running an old BIOS. I think your motherboard is ASUS Z87 variant, maybe you could confirm?
Realtek drivers are outdated v2.82 works for me http://www.realtek.com/downloads
Did you DDU your GeForce 397.93 Driver?
Unplug the USB dongle for the G430 and plug directly into the sound card, trust me.
v1709 and I never got along well with GF drivers, so much so I defected to Team Red.

    https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_Z87/HelpDesk_BIOS/

    version 2302 (7 Apr 2017)

One of the fixes is microcode for 4th Gen CPUs but it recommends to use the USB Flashback button to upgrade. You must download and uncompress the .CAP image to the root of a USB 2.0 device (FAT32) and use the bottom blue USB port underneath the LAN socket.

    P59 of your User Manual.

P118 outlines the other update and recovery methods.

When updating, perform 'load setup defaults', save and exit then go back in and change anything you need changed for a successful boot.

Also when reinstalling the game did it reinstall the Microsoft runtimes?

I'll try the bios thing soon,

How exactly do you reinstall the runtimes stuff?

When you remove the game on Steam, restart your machine and restore it from a backup or redownload it. When you play it for the first time it should restore some Kinect speech runtimes and DirectX and I think some other runtime (there are 8 IIRC).

I'm going to ask three more questions.

Are your HDD and DVD plugged into the Asmedia SATA controllers (beige/red)? If so, try the Intel ones (brown).

Did you remove the Logitech USB dongle?

Have you tried setting the Realtek sound as the deafult device and setting the sample rate to 48000Hz?
