F1 2016 iOS is awesome

Hello all,
I played F1 games for years, Microprose grand prix series, Grand prix legends and so on...
Playing for several days now, I think Codemasters made a great job with F1 2016 on iOS.
At start i found it difficult to control, but infact you just need time and training to master it. Infact the playability is very well balanced.
Adding mfi controller would be a mistake, because it would be not fair for all who are playing with defaults controls. For those who are complaining about that, i think you just need to train more. Playing with tilt control is more realist than with a gamepad, it's more like a wheel. Do you drive your car with a pad? No.

The playability is a masterpiece, No need any changes on it.

Some things that could be improved :

- adding wet weather
- making ai more human
- removing cheated times on time attack and weeckly challenge

Overall i think it's one of the best game on appstore, good use of metal too, really nice gfx and framerate. Good optimisation too cos my IPad never hot like some games.

Congratulations Codemasters, F1 2016 is a masterpiece of gameplay, thank you.

Good review, but I'm waiting for the initial game to mature somewhat before I purchase it.  I'm still reading that game play is a bit off and resolution issues abound.
If his unpleasant wounding, has in someway enlightened the rest of us, as to the grim finish beneath the glossy veneer of criminal life, and has inspired up all to change our ways, then his injuries carry with it an inherent nobility, and a supreme glory.

Hi. Good review. :) Can you give any playing tips, particularly regarding controlling the vehicle with tilt? I am currently using an iPhone, all assists off, with tilt. The hardest thing I find is when I release the brake, the car suddenly turns in harder, I have to aggressively lessen the steering to keep the same line. When I've played Sims like rFactor, with a force feedback wheel, I did not find the same problems. Thanks, and yes, I agree. Great game for a mobile device. Thanks codemasters.

Edit: I've been playing around with braking... Normally, I am releasing the brake and pressing the accelerator a fraction of a second later. I find that pressing the gas as soon as, or before, I release the brake helps with the car balance around the corners.

I disagree with you saying adding MFI would be a mistake, you admit yourself that steering with the tilt is more real than using a controller so doesn't that mean you would be at a disadntage with the controller? In addition, the iOS version on the apple TV already has controller support so there are already people racing using a controller online

I agree that the mobile controls are excellent (I use the touch controls myself with no assists) and will play the game 90% of the time with the mobile controls, but it would be great to have the option of using a controller for longer sessions as I dont think you go any faster, but are much more comfortable for longer races

iOS 10 is the platform the game was build primarily to target. The hardware requirements for Android are too varied for a targeted app. I'm sure they'll add a compatible Android version later this year sometime.
