Freeplay prize money far too low.

Just played through a tough Group B rally in Australia on high difficulty in Freeplay to try out the YourStage generator. Got about 20% of the prize money I would have for a similar event in Career mode.

Won't be doing that again. I thought you were meant to be encouraging us to use Yourstage, Codies.

Yeah, the payout for Freeplay is ridiculously low. I've done 50-60km events that get me nothing whatsoever, it's a real shame since I love playing them. I just have to hope that leagues will have higher pay, though I guess I can always just grind some boring career events and get that money all the same.

Agreed, crap payouts, you would think it would just be the same

It's not the money that bothers me, it's the fact that to get first on a 'my stage' event using the tough difficulty you have to post times on par with the leaderboard top 5.
Using tough difficulty on career I generally finish a good 10 seconds in front of the AI, but as soon as I go to 'my stage' I'm 10 odd seconds behind, even when I have a really good run, makes it hard to pick up and play when I don't necessarily want to play career or online mode (like when I've had a few and just want to burn up a stage to work on some set ups).

    This depends on the car.

The AI is brutally quick at times depending on what car you've chosen. If you pick the Lancia Delta Integrale, for instance - most of the time you can't touch the AI. But pick the Escort in the same category and you beat them easily.

If you pick the BMW M3 you won't be able to beat the AI either, but if you pick the Ascona it's no problem at all.

Not entirely sure why this occurs, but there you go.

The thing is, even on lowest difficulty the AI in freeplay is too fast.
I am usually finishing somewhere in tier 2 in online events. But I am having a hard time beating the AI in freeplay on the lowest level. So I wonder what all those tier 3 and tier 4 players are supposed to do in freeplay?

    The AI is totally unbalanced.

I find that the longer your stages are, the more you'll start to get ahead of the pack as they have general issues. It's not easy to beat tough AI in freeplay but if you set it up like a proper event, it's very possible. If you're doing a single short stage, you'd best be pushing 100%.

I've played a few freeplay championships, haven't had any issues with unbeatable AI, but payouts are crap. Same with pro tour.

I have seen unfair AI in a lot of free play and in career championships.  I know certain cause this but even escort and some other non problem cars AI is still setting unfair times.
