[DiRT4] Pace notes should depend on speed as well not just location

As I see pace notes are coming depending on the location of the car on the stage. It is no good when going at high speed and Nicky says right 2 and the corner is 5 metre away.....so it should depend on speed as well, so we can avoid these crashes. And with the settings (early, late) you only change the location of the pace note sound... I hope I was clear...It's another on CM's "fix this" list

    yes ive been havng issues with late calls on hairpins/acute corners too. calls mostly work right but at times they can be few corners too early or be right on a turn when called. ive lost many seconds on stages because of this it might get fixed?

    Easier fix would be to just remove some of the useless notes like every single dip call.

    Sometimes I just want to tell me co-driver "Shut up I'm trying to drive here!".

    This ... that's a really needed fix.

    Yeah the calls need to be more aware of the severity of elevation changes – not all 'dip', 'crest' and 'jump' calls are necessary, and are often just noise.

    I've mentioned before, too, how the calls also need to take elevation changes into account when calling out corners – several times I've been caught out because a turn had a rather sudden drop, so it should have been 'caution, over crest into left 4 down' rather than just 'left 4'.

    You can change how early/late the co-driver calls stage features, but then you'd have to change for every class; group B needs early calls, but R2 can have them late. Also, There was an option in Dirt 3 (I believe) to have shorter notes, an option for something like that would be useful.

    Yes I find this issue especially prevalent on the Spain stages. I seem to go off the road at a lot of '3' turns after a series of 5s and 6s as my entry speed is simply to great to brake in time. Also some turns which are over blind crests are called too late, I notice this in Australia the most when over a crest a turn is called after when it should be called before or at the same time as the crest. Adjusting the timing doesn't work in those situations as the rest of the stage is either too slow or late! In addition I would like a button that can be pressed to request a repeat of the last turn called, especially when exiting a hairpin I have at times forgotten the next call by the time I have fluffed the corner. :)

    First I'll hope you'll excuse my English (I am French)
    Secondly I am completely new to this world of games (yeah I am a bit old fashioned  :D ) so please don't insult me if I posted in the wrong section/thread.

    I bought DirtRally early this year (I also bought a PS4 especially along with seat, steering, pedals and shifter) to get more and more used to co-driver notes as I do rallye driving in real life in a M3 e30 (It helps getting practice cheaper and Practicing on open road is a no-go for me)

    But I get very frustrated with the co-driver as it is so far away to the reality.

    I posted on this thread as the first drawback is indeed the pace of the notes.
    In real life the co-driver always adapt the pace of the notes with the speed of the car (and rightly so!). Adapting the notes also means that, for example when the turns are very close one to another, the co-driver is to announce the 2 or 3 turns together so as to know what will happen to you after the first one...
    As it stands for the moment, you have to know the stages by heart if you ever want to do any good driving and time.

    Also as an option : the co-driver could say the notes twice when it can (after a long straight, etc.).
    And it should announce again the following turn after an accident (that could be a choice in options) if you still have not taken the turn yet. Yes that can happen o:)  

    I have also noticed that some notes are wrong (just a few - Greece and in Germany for example).
    It announces left when there is a right (in French obviously) or the contrary. And that even though the symbol at the top of the screen is correct... I was wondering if that is because the co-driver also has to improve with the driver level/experience ? If not where should we write about those required mods ?

    Finally, could you please change the way the M3 e30 drives? Its rear never try so hard to get in front in real life :D

    Or simply just a button to ask the next pace note yo the codriver would be great yo long straights from Australia that you drive saying after this crest I die, after this crest I die, because maybe it appear suddenly a Right 2 without time to stop the car
