F1 2017 grip and aero compared too 2016

Anyone else not really seeing any difference in grip and aero levels in 2017 compared too 2016? I find the cars are pretty bad through flat out corners and switch back corners.Maybe I just need too improve but the cars don't feel any different to 2016 too me.

    There is a difference, for sure. I just did Silverstone in my career and the second sector is a lot faster with 2017 cars

    Yes you can flat out corners that you couldn't before. Tyres last longer so can push harder.

    Car is more easier to drive than 2016 , I feel more the sensation of grip with track

    On 5kg fuel and fresh tyres, the corners the commentators say are flat out are now actually flat out ... well, almost all of them.
    The left/right chicane in Albert Park is a slight lift before entry then flat out through.
    The swooping left at start of sector 2 in China.
    Turn 3 Spain but turn 9 is still a slight lift (I think this can be taken flat out) 
    Copse is definitely flat out and such an amazing feeling
    Pouhon is a slight lift ...
    I think you get the picture. There is a huge difference with these years cars

    There is something weird going on, yeah. In China in the rain in particular, Both myself and Hamilton on 110% difficulty were slower than on Ultimate in 2016 in identical conditions (close to the same lap too), which should not be happening. I've seen a few other indications that there's something wrong with the way the downforce works as well, especially through corners like Pouhon, compared to AMS's Formula Ultimate cars. It'd be fine if this was consistent, but so far it's not looking to be the case, with the AI's simplified physics being utterly ridiculous in corners like Spain's long turn 3 where they barely turn at all compared to how much the player needs to turn even with me having a setup that is especially made to tackle that corner. At least if they could do just about what the player could do it'd be pretty okay, as I don't think there's much skill or excitement in taking fast corners flat out.

    All those corners apart from Pouhon can be taken flat out with the right setup. But yeah, compared to last years game there is so much more grip.

    Copse at Silverstone is flat out now, with a Toro Rosso, with 5-6 wings, without extending track limits. Try that with an F1 2016 car and see the difference.

    In addition to the comments about cornering grip above, the one big difference I have noticed this year is the traction on corner exit.

    Because of the wider rear tyres I can actually drive without Traction Control this time. Last year the torque curve felt too sharp and I had to rely on Medium TCS.

    It just took skill and precision and was plenty drivable. In this game, even compared to real life and AMS, it's overly exaggerated and just leads to more understeer than is necessary. It punishes getting on the power at the right time and promotes flooring it, which is even more disappointing than that being true to a lesser extent in real life as well.

    I completely feel the extra grip and downforce and I find the cars this year actually easier to drive because of this. Circuits I struggle with usually, such as silverstone, Baku and Hungary, I've been on the pace (in a mclaren though so still lagging on the straights). I'm finding a minimal downforce set up is really working for me on all tracks, even Hungary, I am in the middle of a full length career race at the moment and I'm running in 8th with fernando in 7th. Turning into a really enjoyable race right now

    Don't understand the OP. There is clearly more grip on the new cars, T3 in Spain is now easily flat. 
    I also think the cars have a bit more oversteer on slower speed corner entry and there is more traction on exit. Plus tyre wear is improved. I think Codies have done a great job of simulating the performance increases in the right places. Absolutely spot on in fact.

    Cars have proper traction now. Its not only the F1 2017 regulations, its in general a huge step up. Compare F1 2016 videos from real life with your ingame experience while accelerating. You could NEVER get the power down on corner exits (2-3 gear mostly) like they could in real life. In the 2017 game it is much more like in real life when i compare footage with ingame. 

    I could name you many examples of almost every track where you can just feel the difference in grip but you really notice it on every corner @ exit in lower gears when it comes to straight out traction. 
    One example: Second corner in Australia: If you do not feel the difference immediately, i dont know what kinda setups/Assists you run/used to run in 2016.

    You can actually take Pouhon flat.

    Keep in mind that most real drivers set the 2016 cars up to mitigate the otherwise bad traction (as a lot of them are not very good in slow corners), which you could largely do in the game as well. Vettel was one of the few who didn't as he's exceptionally good on the throttle. The real drivers also upshifted extremely early and were very progressive with the throttle even with the easier setups, the latter of which a lot of players and even simracers are simply not good at.

    The levels of grip in 2017 is way more than 2016. The cars are a lot easier to drive IMO

    Yeah I agree I'm finding I'm a bit better in this game in that opening sector of Japan for example. That was always an area where I struggled. Now I feel I can really attack it with the 2017 cars. In fact I'm much better around Japan in general in the new cars.
