The Dirt weekly thread

And now we've got one of these as well!

I forgot just how powerful the BMW is, having just gotten used to the Escort Mk2... haha. A world of difference. I did some nice times, but it took a long time to complete the night stages. A long time as in many restarts. I crashed a lot... I just don't "feel" exactly where the car is in the darkness - it's kind of uncomfortable. Maybe that's why people always pull away from me there eh?

Never before have so many swedish f- and h-words been uttered. :)

I'm not sure I like how monthly/weekly are set up. You can basically do the stages as hotlaps. And no need to reset the whole event, if you crash or do a costly mistake, just exit the stage and you get a new crack at it.

Maybe there could be a set amount of retries? Or non at all?

I agree, I reckon I got away too easily - no real pressure. If there wouldn't be any retries, I most likely would have been driving slower and safer just to finish.

I also agree, current setup is kinda too forgiving. If it werent I would be slower and more careful but thats how it should be, not much room for error.

Also, at lot of finnish/swedish swearwords echoed in my apartment yesterday when I had a go at the weekly. Back in the day I learned to drive with e30 beemers but in Dirt Rally we dont seem to get along. Had to reset...

Congratulations to @Rallycameraman for winning last week's weekly event. :)

Unsurprisingly, ji1 is leading current weekly... :D

I managed to sneak into second place, some 11 seconds behind. I didn't drive badly or anything, just not as quick as him. :) I look forward to seeing more people on the leaderboard (except for Sylwesterp of course) as the week progresses.

    Thanks dude.

I'll probably give this weeks a miss. Group A cars plus Monte Carlo aren't exactly my favourite choice.

I was actually leading this week's weekly event until some finn named lauri made good use of the moorlands shortcuts... something that was present on no less than four of the stages. So much for fair play.

I never said the cuts make no difference... they make a huge difference. Kind of obvious.

i find it funny people are going faster than can be driven with cuts.needs to be some anticheat checking times of sections and what is possible. speed wise.

you cant go faster through those moorland courses without cutting.so some people are cutting or lying.or cheating.i tested it yesterday to see time gained as above over a floorless run you can probably do 10-15 secs better . thats if you run close to record times.50 plus at top lol.

get on this dev team.also hope your anti cheat is running silently.

So that's the weekly done, happy with how it went. Don't know how I could've gone much faster though to be honest.

Will have to re-do mine. It's embarrasing how slow I am in fwd cars.

jl1 is leading and he didn't cut. Mr. Cameraman doesn't cut either, so... fairly legit leaderboard imo.

He doesn't cut. I just beat him on all stages except one, and not one cut was made. I also recorded Geufron Forest where I was some 7 seconds ahead of him and 1.6 behind ji1.

So please stop saying that people cut when they do not.

Anyway, on topic... I was third, 53 seconds behind ji1... I was ashamed of my poor performance. So I asked ji1 for pointers on how to drive FWD cars quickly. He gave me pointers. I restarted the event. Now I am second overall, only 11.082 seconds behind.

I can drive the Mini! Weeeeeeeee!

I hate those night stages... Two more to go and far off the pace.

Anyone driving the Fulvia? I really like the car, but I can't drive in a straight line with it. At least not very fast.

I too scared to start this RWD Weekly Rally, I might need some more practice first, I suck at taking hairpins in RWD cars.

i set some of the quickest times or right up there. 1 minute plus over 6 tracks work it out. cuts were made.you cant make up that much time without cutting or something else.you may not agree i know as i can match your times.

what needs to be done in this game is maximum times calculated by devs look at speeds through sections.

also check speeds of the cars top speed etc.
