I'm still midway through my first season in Career mode with McLaren (on PC) using 50% races. I assumed the awful reliability of parts was solely down the fact that I was in the McLaren!
So is it fair to say that every team is affected by bad reliability / increased wear of parts until you do some of the R&D tree Durability segments? If it affects every team then at least it's fair (and it means the Durability section is always relevant no matter which team you choose).
I understand F1 2017 is not perfect but some people are to critical of what is one of the best games in the codemasters F1 series. I have over 7 hours of gameplay and the only bug i have encountered which i think for a game which released days ago is not bad at all. The fact people on this forum are threatning to boycott the game is insulting to the people that made the game. I know the online is messed up but codemasters are actively trying to find ways to address this and other bugs you may encounter
I haven't seen any bugs as of yet. I've got well over 24 hours of race time in.
Same. Have not seen a single bug or glitch in the game yet and I have nearly 20 hours done myself. No idea what even a quarter of the people on here are complaining about!
It does depend on the way you play 100%. I'm on PC and so have only been in Career Mode. Haven't had any problems, personally. But I do intend on getting the PS4 version, too, to play online multiplayer with a friend of mine. If the online multiplayer is as unreliable as people are saying - I'm just waiting to hit inevitable problems with that.
We're finally seeing the end of the first online Season - for everyone I raced against on PS4 (xEvolutionx (the eventual winner), Shaundead, Beady23, Goto1977, Carpleix among others) I had a blast racing against you all! Really had loads of fun guys and hope to do battle again soon. I ended up 18th in the end myself - not too shabby considering I'm trying to fit game time in around my working hours and social life (not easy!)
That being said - we're now in a position where we have 17 days until our next online season. So now comes the time for me to ask "where exactly is this game going from here?"
As much as I loved my first full season playing, I'm not convinced that I want to do it all again on the same 9 tracks for another 60 or so days. I probably will but it had started to feel a little stale near to the end of the season, in my opinion. This was reflected in the online leaderboard where quite a lot of "dead" players were clearly listed in the Top 100 (their points hadn't changed in weeks).
So are we going to see any new content before the next season starts? What are Codemasters plans for this game from here? How are they going to drive this game forwards? The races themselves are great fun. The track designs are good. The cars are good fun to drive, too. And the weapon based combat - while a bit of a lottery - certainly evens up the playing field for the most part. But we only have 9 races in total online. It's not really enough variety.
I'd like to hear something other than complete silence - I think we all deserve to know the future for this game. The potential is there. Now's the time to kick on and fulfill that potential.
I noticed that they were quiet since day one... which worried me initially (and more-so as time goes on).
Even on Facebook - they posted about the imminent release of MM for days on end. Then came release day and it was just pure silence thereafter. It's still like that now. They've literally said nothing about this game for over 3 weeks on there. And now the forum has gone deathly quiet.
It's either the end of this game - which is a massive shame in my view as I do honestly feel that this game has bucketloads of potential - or they're hard at work on something big and will announce something shortly.
I really fear it's the former. I sincerely hope it's the latter.
