The place where I work has an amazing simulator with VR, and I can confirm, using VR on a setup like that is mind blowing. Being able to lift your head and move it around is amazing, it completely replicates being inside the cockpit. My favourite track / car combination is a Formula 3 car at Oulton Park. Can't beat it.

That's not the Corsica I remember from the WRC calendar. The rally of a thousand corners. Extremely narrow, bad roads. Endless blind corners. Have they changed location?

I do hope we get a tarmac location. Ideally either Ireland or Germany. Spain is great, but the roads are quite wide, so I’d like something a bit narrorer for contrast

You say that, but with any major change to an interface or system, 9 times out of 10 you will usually come to like the upgrade to the point where you look at the old version and go 'bloody hell, how did we ever put up with that?!' I'm sure you'll enjoy it soon enough. I think it's really good.

I second that. I'll be even more specific. High speed flat(ish) narrow roads with deep ditches on either side and where cutting corners without picking up a puncture is an art mastered by just a few. Imagine the stage degredation tech for that. Being further down the running order would mean more dirt on the road and deeper ruts for the previous cars cutting the corner. Sign me up! The video clearly shows you what I'm on about. When some hear the word 'cut', they reeeaaaaally go for it!

San Remo. Not part of the WRC calendar for years, so no licensing issues there and pretty narrow. In fact, narrower than Corsica and Spain. Might not be as narrow as Ireland in terms of asphalt width, but still pretty narrow and dangerous as Monte Carlo.

I want a flat(ish) narrow tarmac location! Belgium comes to mind.

Fair enough, it must be a certain stage I’m remembering from previous years that was quite similar to Spain. Rallies can vary quite a lot from stage to stage, but that stage you’ve linked looks pretty fun!

Ok so the Galway livery will be coming in a couple of months time. A couple of months time is when I imagine DLC 1 is coming. So Ireland livery......with DLC 1......means.......Ireland location in DLC 1???? ( initialially they said the livery was coming "later in the year" so this is more specific)

The Japanese drive on the left, therefore that must be the correct side as Japan is the best. I drove a LHD car for the first time last year. Didn't enjoy the first few miles: I kept punching the glovebox every time I went to change gear.

We should have switched to LHD and driving on the correct side years ago, but as you see now this country is incredibly backwards when it comes to adopting better things. I drive all over Europe and don't notice it TBH. The only time I have to think is at roundabouts...

Strange that for example the British haven't complained about this years ago. I mean most of the cars are left hand drive so it must be a nightmare for them. Oh boy, I feel for you guys across the Channel. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Please do post a video of it! VR is something you can't really imagine if you don't really understand current gaming technology. I mean heck I can't understand it that well as I've never owned any kind of VR goggles as they're too expensive for me 😭 Also the Silverstone track layout change (at least the GP track change) still makes me confused between the layouts.

Clearly Galway need to put more effort in; modelling only 40km of unique stage for their rally. Shame.

It's a bit of a double edged sword for Codemasters though, isn't it? There were calls for ongoing support with DiRT Rally, many (including myself) were expecting a long term support plan for DiRT 4 but almost the exact opposite happened which attracted the ire of many. Now they are delivering on what many have asked for and they are being accused of cheating customers? If the base game was being launched with less content than previous titles I'd be more annoyed and say you have a point, but DR2.0 is going to have as many rally locations and more new rallycross tracks than either DR1 or D4, so it's not like the base game is being cut short... ...the only thing that I think could be argued is being "held back" are the Group B RWD cars. If the class reappears with an expanded roster I think that will be justified though. I'd love to see months, or even years, of ongoing free DLC updates but, if I am being brutally honest, I don't think CM can fund that sort of thing.
