Hi all, DiRT Rally 2.0 v1.4 releases at 11am (BST) today, and with that, RaceNet will go down for maintenance, so please make sure you're not playing the game when 11am comes around, as it could compromise event times etc. being uploaded to the server. We're expecting RaceNet to be up and running by 12pm BST. Here is what the update will bring: - Online Custom events can now be set up as human only - Plain black and white liveries added for most vehicles - UI indication added for when ghost cars are stopped due to time penalty - Leaderboards will now support going to the top from all positions - AI will no longer select unreleased vehicles - Speedcar Xtrem wheels will not disappear - Improvement to Silverstone joker lap detection - Costa Rican added as a nationality - Tyre warnings are improved when in the service area - Reset line improvements on Mettet - Delta Daily will now award correct credits - Improvements to Opel Manta 400 engine audio - Turning off Personal Best ghosts will keep them off for the remainder of the session - Visual improvements to some vehicles - Proximity warnings will not be shown on retired vehicles - Resuming championships will not damage previously undamaged components - Stability improvements throughout title Please note that a further update will follow in the next week, which will focus solely upon FFB – so if you’re wondering where that is, it’s just around the next corner! As always, if you’re playing the game and notice something that might’ve slipped through the cracks, please post in this thread so we can take a look. Cheers, Christina 16/05 - update: Hello everyone! We come bearing exciting news for DiRT Rally 2.0 players - including the FFB update that everyone's been waiting for... Force Feedback changes The latest update to arrive to DiRT Rally 2.0 this morning - update 1.4.1 - is primarily focused upon updating the Force Feedback for steering wheels. After looking into comments about the feel from all parts of our community, we’ve changed the way the ‘Suspension’ setting works to try and exhibit the behaviours that you've been requesting. For this update the slider has been set at a default level of 100 for all devices, but this can be changed to suit your preferences. If you prefer the way things felt previously, then simply head to the Input section of the Options & Extras menu, select your device and then adjust the ‘Suspension’ slider in the Vibration & Feedback tab to 0. We want to give a huge thanks to the entire community for their feedback and patience while we've looked into implementing these changes - especially to those of you who've taken the time to come back to us with incredibly useful, nuanced feedback about your FFB experiences. It's worth mentioning that while this is the first big update to the FFB, it's definitely a work in progress and we plan to refine the feeling further. Please - let us know what you think. While we're on inputs, our Principal Game Designer Lee and Senior Programmer Adrian have put together a super handy Input Device Guide for DiRT Rally 2.0. You can take a look at it in all of its PDF glory here. Season Two content will also be announced tomorrow, so please stay tuned for what the next few months of DiRT will look like. Some of the speculation on the forums has been remarkably close, but we still have a surprise or two up our sleeves - and you won't have to wait much longer to find out what that is. See you back here tomorrow!

Hi all, Just popping into this thread with less gossip, but more a heads up - the patch is confirmed to go live at 11am tomorrow! RaceNet will go down for maintenance (for a maximum of an hour) while we patch the game, so please make sure you're not in game when that happens as it could compromise event times uploading to the server. I'll be back early tomorrow morning with a Road Book featuring patch notes and some information about what we've tweaked server side too - as well as more info on how we're doing with FFB. Looking forward to getting the fixes and the info out to you. 🙂 Cheers, Christina

Come on codies...its 2019. Who in their right mind allowed the ridiculous rain graphic to pass development. Its bad enough the headlights dont illuminate far enough in front of the car to push in the dark...then you add a sheet of white lines that looks like they are straight out of a sega genesis game from 1997 makes it impossible. Please for the love of god fix this.

Hi all, Just wanted to pop in and say hello after taking a week off - I'm now back in the office for aaaaaages, although we do have a few people out at GDC at the moment! Just on some of the discussions I've seen: we'll be patching the game hopefully Wednesday (subject to approvals and everything going smoothly). When that's all locked in, you'll get the full patch notes. We've addressed a lot of the stuff you've been asking for... the FFB is with our handling team, so no changes on that front - but we've managed to squeeze a lot in for this patch. I'll have specifics for you when it's all confirmed, but please rest assured that we're on it. Cheers, Christina

Hi all, We are still finalising the list. Thanks for your patience while we continue to sort through the applications!

We picked it for a multitude of reasons! It's a great car, works within our current car classes, our pal Petter drove it, and we think it's a beautiful and underrepresented vehicle. Plenty more cars to come which will introduce even more choice - there'll be something for everyone!

Hi all, just wanted to chip in here before the weekend arrives; we're working on bringing changes to the FFB - within the next week or two we'll be releasing a FFB specific update. More info soon, but it's coming. Thanks for your patience - we can't wait to have it out there and in your hands.

This is a link to my YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/c/GTRTechnical I will be sharing all the setups I create on DiRT Rally 2.0. So if you cant be bothered or just don't know how to tune then this channel will eventually be a one stop shop for you. The most up to date setups will be in the SETUPS section of my channel home page. Every week I will be holding a poll in the community section of my YouTube channel to choose the next car. Saturday - Monday you will pick the class, Tuesday -Friday you will pick the car, so be sure to get your votes in. The plan is to tune every car in the game for every location, so if the car you want isn't in my channel it will be by the time I'm done. If you like the setups obviously please show your appreciation with a like just so I know I'm still on the right track with the setups. If you want to keep up to date with the latest setups I've done, either subscribe to my YouTube channel and/or follow me on Twitter. Good luck on the stages! SHOWNDOWN | Split screen chase cam action, pitching my tunes against each other. IF IN DOUBT FLAT OUT | Shows Live, wheel, chase, Heli and track side camera angles revealing how I get the stage times out of the tunes I create.

Original post here: http://blog.codemasters.com/community/04/dirt-rally-2-0-road-book-08-04-19/ DiRT Rally 2.0: Season One, Stage Two brings Sweden Rally, the BMW M1 Procar Rally, the Opel Manta 400 and a Special Livery for five vehicles! This content will be dropping throughout April, and is available for Deluxe Edition players to download as part of their Season Pass content. Standard Edition players will be able to purchase each bit of content separately on the relevant platform store. To get your first sneak peek at the cars in action in Sweden, check out our brand new trailer here: https://youtu.be/-o5TJWOvb9c Tomorrow sees the cars and the Special Livery arrive to the game, whereas Sweden Rally will arrive on the 23rd April. Don’t forget, Deluxe Edition players will also receive a credits drop and access to the high reward special D+ Community Events too. Just a quick note on the BMW M1 Procar Rally – final audio for the vehicle will come in next week’s patch, so don’t fret if you think it sounds a little off-key at first. We’re all over it. Aside from Season One content coming out as usual, we’re also working on Update 1.3 which, subject to all of the usual submissions, is due to land next week. Thanks to everyone’s feedback since the last update, as we’ve been able to isolate and fix some key issues, including the grip/floating car issues some users have been experiencing. We’ve also worked on preventing audio-cut outs, and have fixed the ‘Fire Up That Car... Again’ trophy/achievement. Full patch notes will be confirmed on our channels closer to it releasing, so please stay tuned over the following few days to see them surface. We’re also making some headway into tackling the FFB issues a lot of you have been discussing on our forums, channels and beyond. We’ll have more for you on that soon, but we just wanted to reassure you that it’s still top of our priority list and that we’re making progress. What else? Well, we’ll also be adding more DiRT Rally 2.0 Achievements and Trophies for Season One! But you’ll have to wait until next week to find out what they are. 🙂 Finally, we’ll also be adding the wonderful Jon Armstrong’s 2019 Galway International Rally livery to the game next week! We’ll be holding a little competition once the Fiesta R5 livery is out, so stay tuned to see how that takes shape. Just in case you’ve forgotten what it looks like, here’s a handy reminder for you in the shape of the DiRT Show Galway Special! https://youtu.be/57j6vaQFJJ4

Fabia Rally and C4 Rally has got 1-1 "real" livery only. 😞 I could make 10 liveries for each, but i can't do that because they are already locked (crypted) So my question is: could you unlock all the DLC cars? 😄 Or at least could you share a .pssg files instead of locked .nefs for modders like Me? It would be a win-win connection! 😉

Nice patch 🙂 Many of the things that needed fixed are on the list and I can't wait to test the game once I get home from work. However, there are still plenty of things to fix, both small and big which transit from v1.1. You've already stated FFB will be fixed later on, so no point mentioning it once again, so let's get to the rest: I'm on the PC Steam platform by the way, but probably 95% of these bugs are global. -- PATCH v1.3 ETA: 15th-19th April -- 1. The problem with dark stages and no visibility has been poorly resolved and now the cockpit of the car is completely dark and some stages over-exposed. HDR needs to be fixed for good, no matter how much time it takes. Headlights also have nearly no effect in dark zones (such as New Zealand forests, Australia forests and Monte Carlo's tunnel) during day time. This is as prioritary as FFB, because it's a gamebreaker. (https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35657-dirt-rally-20-v12-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=411207 and https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/178-dirty-gossip-thread/?do=findComment&comment=409909 ) 2. Some cars' headlights lack proper glass texture opacity and some of them lack proper mirroring texture within the bulb case (Lancer VI for example) ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35466-whats-wrong-with-dr-20-cars/?do=findComment&comment=406760 ) 3. Tyre wear is too forgiving at the moment, making any choice besides Soft and Wet nonsense. Tyre wear, at least on softs, needs to be improved so that it wears way faster than it currently does, so that Medium and Hard compounds are a viable choice whenever there are bigger stages. And if possible, make it so that tyre wear rates also depend on how you drive (if you push harder, higher speed and higher sliding will cause the tyres to wear faster). ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35154-tyre-life-and-running-order/ ) 4. There are a few details missing from tail lights when the lights are on and brakes applied ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35466-whats-wrong-with-dr-20-cars/?do=findComment&comment=407285 ) 5. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI lacks halogen lights during night stages. The game only places the 2 in the front bumper, but it lacks the set on the bonnet. ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/34816-dirt-rally-20-v11-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=408600 ) 6. There's no mention on these patch notes about the grip bug happening intermitently to some players. Some get no grip, some get partial grip and some don't have any problems. It's as if the car had no gravity and the wheels didnt touch the ground ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/34816-dirt-rally-20-v11-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=408243 and https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35657-dirt-rally-20-v12-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=409135 ) Being fixed in Patch v1.3 7. There's no mention on these patch notes about AI scoring irregular points in the My Team career. Not sure if this also happens on custom events. ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/34816-dirt-rally-20-v11-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=408152 ) 8. After a stage when you're in the service then go to the main menu and back again in the service, the tyres you used lose their used condition and just display as "New". 9. Some materials while in wet conditions seem to lack proper roughness, making them extra shiny and bland ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/34816-dirt-rally-20-v11-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=407693 ) 10. Running order seems to be class dependent. Example: Group A will never start 1st on the running order regardless if they lead the entire rally, and not just the class, making the running order and track degradation a bit shady. There's also the issue where the championship leader will start cleaning the first stage of the event (correct), except if you are on another class other than R5, but then if you lead the rally once again you don't get the best order position for the best grip. Not sure how you're gonna do it, but something needs to be done about this, as older classes get 90% of the time rutted stages. 11. Splash VFX and SFX are missing when passing through a splash (New England stages). 12. Splash VFX and SFX are missing on wet stages on little puddles of mud and water (all gravel stages that have wet condition). Not sure if this is a bug or an intented design decision. If it implies a significant performance drawback, discard. 13. PS4|PS4 Pro - Rain drops are pitch white during night when lighted by the headlights. ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35657-dirt-rally-20-v12-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=409302 ) 14. Some controllers that worked previously in 1.1, don't work anymore. (from here onwards https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35657-dirt-rally-20-v12-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=408998 ) Fixed in Patch v1.2.1 (25/03/2019) 15. There are more reports of stuttering since v1.2, which didn't exist before. ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35684-stuttering-since-update-12/ ) 16. Audio is still cutting out in the stages. Being fixed in Patch v1.3 17. Some co-pilot pacenotes are not given in custom multiplayer races. ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35657-dirt-rally-20-v12-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=409334 ) 18. Headlights still need to light the road farther in dark/rain conditions (Poland specially). 19. PS4|PS4 Pro|Xbox One S - blurry graphics, unable to turn off TAA, low resolution textures overall, faulty HDR and unable to adjust FOV. Being fixed in Patch v1.3 20. Probably related to bug #6, the rear end of the cars is levitating in some rare cases. There's definitely something there with the gravity. ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/34816-dirt-rally-20-v11-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=409901 ) 21. Some of the R5s have their wheels wrongly placed ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35466-whats-wrong-with-dr-20-cars/ ) 22. Rally events are appearing twice in the same career championship, omitting one rally ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35657-dirt-rally-20-v12-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=410026 ) 23. There's a set of graphic bugs on PC Steam version v1.2 (still to confirm in consoles) while in headcam, such as water splashes not rendering properly, objects levitating, etc ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35657-dirt-rally-20-v12-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=409819 ) 24. Screen tearing and black screens problems on Xbox One ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35657-dirt-rally-20-v12-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=409736 ) 25. Some buggy UI graphics overlaying during Car Setup (can't confirm platform) ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35657-dirt-rally-20-v12-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=409572 ) 26. Buggy dialog box showing code instead of text concerning insufficient funds to repair car damage in the main menu ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35657-dirt-rally-20-v12-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=409684 ) 27. Stability issues on PC, causing crashes d3d11.dll and stack related, game freezing mid-stage and consequently PC freezing ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35657-dirt-rally-20-v12-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=410083 ) Being fixed in Patch v1.3 28. There's reports of the co-driver pacenotes notebook 3d object not appearing in head cam. 29. To get the trophy "watch the delta" and "living the dream" you have to buy the Group A and B cars that are already included in the Deluxe Edition. 30. Despite the 7th rally being added to the game (Monte Carlo), championships only have 6 events. Should get adjusted as locations get added. 31. In the Rallycross Daily events, people get forced back out of the event, rather than back to the pits after a practice run. 32. During replay, tyres are squealing on snow/ice/gravel surfaces like if it was tarmac. Being fixed in Patch v1.3 33. Xbox One X - There's a report of the big black graphics bug still happening as of v1.2.1 ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35657-dirt-rally-20-v12-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=410821 ) 34. In Monte Carlo rally, the italian co-pilot's first words at the start are not in italian. 35. Wipers remain automatic even after being disabled in the settings. 36. In Monte Carlo rally, headlights are ineffective in the tunnel during day time. This is the same problem as with the dark forest areas in New Zealand and Australia. 37. Invisible object collisions in Monte Carlo near the wall (trees) ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35657-dirt-rally-20-v12-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=411526 ) 38. In Monte Carlo rally, when you go to the service area after you finish a stage, the ground floor is black like if it was missing a texture (i'll make sure to get a screenshot on this one soon, it happened to me on a GTX 770 with the latest nvidia driver) 39. The french translation of "clear weather" should be "dégagé" and not "vider". 40. When overwriting a setup it resets its name instead of keeping the old name. 41. Rev counter analog display is upside down in the Mk1 Golf ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35657-dirt-rally-20-v12-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=412114 ) 42. We are unable to scroll up to the top or down to the bottom in the leaderboards right after finishing the stage ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35657-dirt-rally-20-v12-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=412353 ) 43. Sometimes windscreen wipers are duplicated. Being fixed in Patch v1.3 44. On the R2 Ford Fiesta most of the liveries have too wide (or actually too high) black bar on top of windshield, which make the car almost impossible to drive. The liveries 1 and 2 are ok, rest are not. Being fixed in Patch v1.3 45. PS4 - There's reports that "Unexpected Moments" stop appearing after a certain time spent in career. 46. PS4 (and maybe Xbox) - Modern Classics achievement is not unlocking. 47. Argentinian flag flickers in one of the argentinian stages ( https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/35657-dirt-rally-20-v12-found-a-bug-post-it-here/?do=findComment&comment=412905 ) SUGGESTION: This might not belong here and it might not even be officially supported, but people are making some nice liveries and porting some from DR and D4 to DR2.0. However, using custom liveries implies modifying their respective car files .pssg files and this in turn prevents times from being validated within RaceNet. If you can, please make it like DR and D4 where custom liveries had no impact on the gameplay. I know file verification can be a pain in the a**, but if it's possible and it's not much of an hassle, take the liveries files out of the equation and just verify the rest of the car data for anticheat purposes, so that everyone can enjoy their liveries. DONE in Patch v1.2 That's all on my side for now. Keep up the good work and see you on the next content update for Monte Carlo 😉 I'll be editing this post in case I spot some more bugs.

Whilst I love the game, I will say that the lack of open and honest communication about its issues, in conjunction with the way Dirt 4 was handled post launch, is becoming a larger and larger issue for me. There’s a great game in here and I really hope to keep seeing content being added to it, but a few issues preventing it living up to expectations for some players. I think most noticeably the FFB and the weather and time conditions. But aside from the odd comment as a social media post or reply when community momentum demands it, there’s nothing forthcoming discussing the reasons for some of the changes, some of the things that might take longer and admitting some of the things we are asking for may not be possible. For a start; why is FFB lacking in the areas that people are asking about? There must be a logical reason, either a choice or change in the physics late in development affecting it. What’s the plan with it? Trying older versions? Getting in an expert like with DR1? Same with weather and time. How is it generated? Can we have any hope for new times (morning or afternoon) and changes to the way weather is assigned? Why are there certain times of day with only a single weather condition and others with four and why was the Dirt 4 system discarded? A choice for online play leaderboards? Using an earlier branch and Dirt 4 conditions weren’t compatible? What was the thinking behind the ‘iris effect’ making the shadows unreasonably dark in daytime? Is it something that could be toggleable or changed or is it a fundamental part of the engine version that can’t be addressed in this version? I don’t honestly mind the answers, it’s the lack of communication that bothers me. Assetto Corsa questions about night and rain: “it’s not possible, the engine only supports one light source”. OK then. Raceroom requests for offline multi class: “we can do the code for in game no problem (here are some screens) but we don’t have anyone to do the UI changes at the moment”. OK then. Il2 people wanting heavy bombers: “we have to model each crew position, a new flight model and for the same work we can do 4-6 regular aircraft. Limitations to maps and the draw distance means we couldn’t do it as well as we’d like to”. OK then. Now I admit, Codemasters seems to court players that wouldn’t read this level of depth, but there are plenty of us who will do. Heck, even DR1 had much better comms and was open about what couldn’t be changed within the engine.

This is fixed for the next update! As we've mentioned elsewhere, this is something we're looking into currently. We know there's been a lot of feedback about FFB, and it's with our handling team for investigation. Other things we're currently working on: - The grip issue off the start line - Game 'blurriness' - Fixing audio cut outs (something we thought we'd fixed but then saw re-occur, so we're really sorry that's been the case) - Game crash issues - Windscreen wiper duplication - Other misc fixes And of course, our RaceNet team are working on Clubs and competitive multiplayer.

Hi all! As always, you can find this on our blog here as well. DEFEAT YOUR RIVALS IN F1® 2019 We are very happy to announce that F1® 2019, the official videogame of the 2019 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP™, is coming a full two months earlier into the F1® season and will launch worldwide on Friday 28th June 2019! To whet your appetite (just a little…) and celebrate today’s announcement we’ve released a trailer, which showcases some of the game’s brand new look and feel. You can check it out right here: For those of you who might know the F1® calendar off by heart, this will, of course, mean that game will be released during the Austrian Grand Prix weekend and, unlike previous iterations, ahead of the British, German and Hungarian Grands Prix. F1® 2019 has been in development here at Codemasters for nearly two years, making it the most ambitious release in the franchise history and launches on PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X and Windows PC (DVD and via Steam). That’s not all though! Working in partnership with F1®, for the first time ever, you’ll be able to get behind the wheel of a 2019 regulation car specifically designed in collaboration with F1®’s technical team, headed up by Ross Brawn and Pat Symonds. The car, which will be available in Multiplayer, adheres to the 2019 regulations and comes with a range of livery designs offering you a new level of personalisation. We’ll be looking at this in more detail in the near future, but for now, you can take a look at these right here: The 2019 F1® Team liveries will also feature on the car in early marketing materials, but will be replaced by the final Team cars ahead of the games release. You can check these out at the bottom of the blog. We know that you love the F1® racing franchise, and we want to build on the success of previous iterations and deliver to you an experience that rivals the quality and production values of the real-life sport and includes several new game features which will be revealed in the coming months (so make sure you do keep it here for more!) “We are absolutely delighted to be able to release F1® 2019 earlier in the Formula 1® Season, so that the game can be played and enjoyed at the same time that the real-world championship picture is starting to form,” said Paul Jeal, F1® Franchise Director at Codemasters. “Our close relationship with Formula 1® has played a major part in achieving this key objective for the franchise. That in addition to our near two-year development cycle, has allowed us to develop some exciting new features and other firsts for the franchise that we can’t wait to share with our community in the coming months.” “The exciting collaboration with Ross Brawn and Pat Symonds has created new levels of player personalisation in F1® 2019 through the inclusion of the new regulation car,” said Lee Mather, F1® 2019 Game Director at Codemasters. “With the continued growth of the F1® series, it’s great to give players more control and new levels of car and driver customisation and we can’t wait to talk more about this alongside the new multiplayer features in the coming months.” We’ve got a lot of exciting things to reveal and talk about, so make sure you keep it here for the F1® 2019 news and details on all the new features.

So you won't play F1 2019 cos it recycles tracks that were on F1 2016? Or play Fifa 19 cos the Etihad stadium is always on it? Or Gt Sport cos Le Mans etc are on from GT5 Or Forza 7 cos of Forza 4? As long as they're improved, either graphically, or physics. Why not?

Being happy with the current FFB isn't exclusive of not wanting better FFB. Currently? I think the FFB is fine, gives me plenty of information and details about the road & car on my G27. Would I like more details of the finer things going on? Sure. Without them does it mean I think the game is broken and not worth playing? Not by a loooong shot. Game is a blast, FFB is good enough for now, physics is awesome, and I've thoroughly enjoyed my first 100 hours in DR2.0 So just because this thread/poll will be obviously skewed since I can't think of a single person in any game that doesn't want better FFB, I'll be the outlier and vote NO. Since I don't want it fixed, I want it enhanced.

Some folks reading this will disagree with my writings, and downvote me or chime in with rhetoric that I am being negative etc., but really I am not trying to be. This is just honest feedback from a long time loyal supporter...so: Firstly - I have to wonder if enlisting Jon Armstrong was the best idea. They had a formula with DR1 - and it worked. While not a total fail, most of us agree that’s DR2.0 has fallen short of expectation across multiple levels, mainly FFB. It was advertised and talked about at length that through development, Jon was closely consulting with Codies regarding the driving model/design of DR2.0, specifically in relation to the handling model (which includes FFB). I have to wonder if this was a blessing or a curse? While the physics model is amazing, I can’t fathom how so many things with the FFB went awry. Outside of that - all the connectivity issues, audio issues, lighting issues, and various other bugs. The patch didn’t seem to remedy much of anything (we are now 15 pages deep on the patch bugs reporting thread post v1.2 update), and it would seem the game has suffered from poor sales; subsequently being reduced to $38 CAD on Xbox and PlayStation afternonly 1 month! 😳 WRC 7 is still priced at $69, and it has been out for 2 years! It is upsetting to see how this game had, and is being - lambasted across social media platforms...which has undoubtedly forced a price drop to incentivize additional sales. No one could have anticipated such a poor adoption rate this early on, especially given the pedigree of DR1 (best Rally game ever!). No question the game appeals to a ‘niche’ audience, most of whom are hard core Rally fans. To that end, PC adoption is key and that community seems less than happy with the current state of affairs. The console versions of this game, especially PlayStation version - seems like an afterthought in some ways. The price drop coupled with the seemingly widespread poor reception across all platforms concerns me becuase if the game is not generating revenue commensurate to projected sales, how much long term support will it see before they wash their hands of it? Simple business principles would suggest poor ROI = curtailing of resources. So here we are a month later...and many (most?) of us are left ‘wanting’ in some regard. The next update will be pivotal to ensuring the long term viability/success of DR 2.0. Lord knows I hope they get it right. I am still playing despite my frustrations, and I will continue to do so. Even though I am dismayed with some of the features (namely the FFB), I still picked up Monte Carlo to help support the cause. There are many redeeming qualities to this game, and as I have said numerous times now - the game has a great skeleton on which to build, but it’s lacking muscle in some key areas. With fandom fading, and WRC8 on the horizon, time is short - and so is the gaming community’s patience (unfortunately). I commend Codies for all they have done with Rally racing titles over the years, I sincerely hope they get the bugs ironed quickly, and bring this game up to speed before we realize a Rally nightmare : ‘TERMINAL DAMAGE’.
