    Come on codies...its 2019. Who in their right mind allowed the ridiculous rain graphic to pass development. Its bad enough the headlights dont illuminate far enough in front of the car to push in the dark...then you add a sheet of white lines that looks like they are straight out of a sega genesis game from 1997 makes it impossible. Please for the love of god fix this.

    We picked it for a multitude of reasons! It's a great car, works within our current car classes, our pal Petter drove it, and we think it's a beautiful and underrepresented vehicle. Plenty more cars to come which will introduce even more choice - there'll be something for everyone!

This content will be dropping throughout April, and is available for Deluxe Edition players to download as part of their Season Pass content. Standard Edition players will be able to purchase each bit of content separately on the relevant platform store. To get your first sneak peek at the cars in action in Sweden, check out our brand new trailer here: https://youtu.be/-o5TJWOvb9c Tomorrow sees the cars and the Special Livery arrive to the game, whereas Sweden Rally will arrive on the 23rd April. Don’t forget, Deluxe Edition players will also receive a credits drop and access to the high reward special D+ Community Events too. Just a quick note on the BMW M1 Procar Rally – final audio for the vehicle will come in next week’s patch, so don’t fret if you think it sounds a little off-key at first. We’re all over it. Aside from Season One content coming out as usual, we’re also working on Update 1.3 which, subject to all of the usual submissions, is due to land next week. Thanks to everyone’s feedback since the last update, as we’ve been able to isolate and fix some key issues, including the grip/floating car issues some users have been experiencing. We’ve also worked on preventing audio-cut outs, and have fixed the ‘Fire Up That Car... Again’ trophy/achievement. Full patch notes will be confirmed on our channels closer to it releasing, so please stay tuned over the following few days to see them surface. We’re also making some headway into tackling the FFB issues a lot of you have been discussing on our forums, channels and beyond. We’ll have more for you on that soon, but we just wanted to reassure you that it’s still top of our priority list and that we’re making progress. What else? Well, we’ll also be adding more DiRT Rally 2.0 Achievements and Trophies for Season One! But you’ll have to wait until next week to find out what they are. 🙂 Finally, we’ll also be adding the wonderful Jon Armstrong’s 2019 Galway International Rally livery to the game next week! We’ll be holding a little competition once the Fiesta R5 livery is out, so stay tuned to see how that takes shape.     Fabia Rally and C4 Rally has got 1-1 "real" livery only. 😞 I could make 10 liveries for each, but i can't do that because they are already locked (crypted) So my question is: could you unlock all the DLC cars? 😄 Or at least could you share a .pssg files instead of locked .nefs for modders like Me? It would be a win-win connection! 😉

    Whilst I love the game, I will say that the lack of open and honest communication about its issues, in conjunction with the way Dirt 4 was handled post launch, is becoming a larger and larger issue for me. There’s a great game in here and I really hope to keep seeing content being added to it, but a few issues preventing it living up to expectations for some players. I think most noticeably the FFB and the weather and time conditions. But aside from the odd comment as a social media post or reply when community momentum demands it, there’s nothing forthcoming discussing the reasons for some of the changes, some of the things that might take longer and admitting some of the things we are asking for may not be possible. For a start; why is FFB lacking in the areas that people are asking about? There must be a logical reason, either a choice or change in the physics late in development affecting it. What’s the plan with it? Trying older versions? Getting in an expert like with DR1? Same with weather and time. How is it generated? Can we have any hope for new times (morning or afternoon) and changes to the way weather is assigned? Why are there certain times of day with only a single weather condition and others with four and why was the Dirt 4 system discarded? A choice for online play leaderboards? Using an earlier branch and Dirt 4 conditions weren’t compatible? What was the thinking behind the ‘iris effect’ making the shadows unreasonably dark in daytime? Is it something that could be toggleable or changed or is it a fundamental part of the engine version that can’t be addressed in this version? I don’t honestly mind the answers, it’s the lack of communication that bothers me. Assetto Corsa questions about night and rain: “it’s not possible, the engine only supports one light source”. OK then. Raceroom requests for offline multi class: “we can do the code for in game no problem (here are some screens) but we don’t have anyone to do the UI changes at the moment”. OK then. Il2 people wanting heavy bombers: “we have to model each crew position, a new flight model and for the same work we can do 4-6 regular aircraft. Limitations to maps and the draw distance means we couldn’t do it as well as we’d like to”. OK then. Now I admit, Codemasters seems to court players that wouldn’t read this level of depth, but there are plenty of us who will do. Heck, even DR1 had much better comms and was open about what couldn’t be changed within the engine.

    Hi guys, This is a link to my YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/c/GTRTechnical I will be sharing all the setups I create on DiRT Rally 2.0. So if you cant be bothered or just don't know how to tune then this channel will eventually be a one stop shop for you. I've currently completed 8 cars for the 6 locations in the game and all the setups are CAPABLE (not guaranteeing as every player has a different skill set) of top 10 times without a heavy sweat session. The 2 latest videos also include Monaco, for cars already done before the location drops I will do a separate video for all DLC locations after the final location drops. The plan is to tune every car in the game for every location and have them all capable of a top 10 time. This however will take some time. My current rate of production is 1-2 cars per week. If you like the setups obviously please show your appreciation with a like just so I know I'm still on the right track with the setups.     This is fixed for the next update! As we've mentioned elsewhere, this is something we're looking into currently. We know there's been a lot of feedback about FFB, and it's with our handling team for investigation. Other things we're currently working on: - The grip issue off the start line - Game 'blurriness' - Fixing audio cut outs (something we thought we'd fixed but then saw re-occur, so we're really sorry that's been the case) - Game crash issues - Windscreen wiper duplication - Other misc fixes And of course, our RaceNet team are working on Clubs and competitive multiplayer.

    Being happy with the current FFB isn't exclusive of not wanting better FFB. Currently? I think the FFB is fine, gives me plenty of information and details about the road & car on my G27. Would I like more details of the finer things going on? Sure. Without them does it mean I think the game is broken and not worth playing? Not by a loooong shot. Game is a blast, FFB is good enough for now, physics is awesome, and I've thoroughly enjoyed my first 100 hours in DR2.0 So just because this thread/poll will be obviously skewed since I can't think of a single person in any game that doesn't want better FFB, I'll be the outlier and vote NO. Since I don't want it fixed, I want it enhanced.

    Hi all, as we've previously, we're still looking into this - as soon as we have an update on this, you'll all be first to know. As a lot of users have mentioned, there are different levels of feedback about the FFB - some are happy with it, some want some tweaking, and some people we're not sure what they want, but we know they're unhappy with it - so there's a lot of investigative work, tinkering and testing to be done. As soon as we're confident that we've got something more in-line with DiRT Rally's feel, we're planning on testing it with some of you - but I can't say when that will be yet! It all depends on how the work goes. It's not an easy job - it will affect all platforms, peripherals, surfaces, cars and disciplines - so whatever we bring, it *needs* to be thoroughly investigated and implemented.

    Hmmm, tricky! Let me see... 1. The problem with dark stages and no visibility has been poorly resolved and now the cockpit of the car is completely dark and some stages over-exposed. HDR needs to be fixed for good, no matter how much time it takes. Headlights also have nearly no effect in dark zones (such as New Zealand forests, Australia forests and Monte Carlo's tunnel) during day time. This is as prioritary as FFB, because it's a gamebreaker. Tyre wear is too forgiving at the moment, making any choice besides Soft and Wet nonsense. Tyre wear, at least on softs, needs to be improved so that it wears way faster than it currently does, so that Medium and Hard compounds are a viable choice whenever there are bigger stages. And if possible, make it so that tyre wear rates also depend on how you drive (if you push harder, higher speed and higher sliding will cause the tyres to wear faster). The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI lacks halogen lights during night stages. The game only places the 2 in the front bumper, but it lacks the set on the bonnet. There's no mention on these patch notes about the grip bug happening intermitently to some players. Some get no grip, some get partial grip and some don't have any problems. After a stage when you're in the service then go to the main menu and back again in the service, the tyres you used lose their used condition and just display as "New". 9. Running order seems to be class dependent. Example: Group A will never start 1st on the running order regardless if they lead the entire rally, and not just the class, making the running order and track degradation a bit shady. There's also the issue where the championship leader will start cleaning the first stage of the event (correct), except if you are on another class other than R5, but then if you lead the rally once again you don't get the best order position for the best grip. Not sure how you're gonna do it, but something needs to be done about this, as older classes get 90% of the time rutted stages. 11. Splash VFX and SFX are missing when passing through a splash (New England stages). 12. Splash VFX and SFX are missing on wet stages on little puddles of mud and water (all gravel stages that have wet condition). Not sure if this is a bug or an intented design decision. If it implies a significant performance drawback, discard. 13. PS4|PS4 Pro - Rain drops are pitch white during night when lighted by the headlights. In the Rallycross Daily events, people get forced back out of the event, rather than back to the pits after a practice run. 32. During replay, tyres are squealing on snow/ice/gravel surfaces like if it was tarmac. Being fixed in Patch v1.3 33. In Monte Carlo rally, the italian co-pilot's first words at the start are not in italian. 35. Wipers remain automatic even after being disabled in the settings. 36.     I bought dirt rally 1 a long time ago, but never played as I hadn't much time (thanks my beloved kids!). I finally have more free time, so I started playing again, and I started with DR2. At first I used my old fanatec turbo s (and clubsport pedal v1), but recently I upgraded to a fanatec 2.5 base, a bmw wheel, modded clubsport pedals v2, clubsport shifter and handbrake. I didn't care if people were comparing dirt rally 2 to dirt rally 1 all the time and say the latter was better. Why would it be true? It made no sense to me. How could the newer game be worse? Then I launched dirt rally 1 and found these nice things: - rally school. Why is gone in DR 2? It's super useful and it shows so much love and passion. - menus settings description. Why no description in DR 2? It was just there in chapter 1. And it's so necessary. - the FFB. OMG. I hadn't the slightest idea. I truly hadn't. How is it even possible dirt 2 came out in such a state? Is really dirt 2 coming from DR 1? What can I say it wasn't said before? I now understand people complaint. That's the most shocking aspect. - wheel related again: soft lock is working fine in DR 1! Why it's not working in DR 2? I had to make a txt file and I have to constantly change wheel settings and it's so annoying - again wheel, shifter setting: H and sequential pattern switch has an automatic setting in DR 1 (it's car related). Guess what? The setting is gone in DR2, and I have to change setting all the time. Again so annoying. - steam worskshop. It was there in DR1. Guess what, DR2, gone. - DR 1 has much more content. And I'm not going into details as that's so obvious. How is possible for chapter 2 to have less (I bought the deluxe edition)? - italian translation is fine in DR1. Why so many errors in DR 2? They are so huge sometime I couldn't even understand what the original english words were. All codemaster had to do was copy and paste from dirt 1, why didn't they do that? That may not be the most important thing, but I think it has it's relevance to understand the game foundations and the level of attention they put in the sequel. So in the end, is DR 2 really a sequel of DR 1? Honestly, I don't believe so, and that's a shame because dirt rally 1 is a true gem, dirt rally 2 simply isn't. I now believe DR2 is just a console oriented game, meant to be played with a controller, and with basic and toyish whell support. That's why the FFB, the not working soft lock, the missing shifter setting, the now gone steam workshop support aren't a problem for the developer. They passed quality control and that's fine. They didn't forget about those features. Proper wheel and PC owners, aren't the focus, they targeted console controller players. These aren't "bugs" waiting to be fixed, that's how the game was developed. And that's fine, developers can do what they want. But, be honest with us, why call it dirt rally 2.0 and not just dirt 5? I wouldn't have bought a dirt 5 (I tried dirt 4 on the xbox, it was in the game pass, and it wasn't for me), but I was so stupid to fall for a DR2. That's not fair.     So we have a fantastic new rally game. This time Codemasters got right most important thing, driving. They hired Jon Armstrong and Ryan Champion (who might be a "silent" hero with the handling of the older cars) and it paid off. They delivered the authentic and more nuanced handling model they were talking about. Pretty soon after Dirt 4 released I stopped playing it, because I didn't like the driving (there were some good cars). It doesn't matter even if game would be otherwise perfect: stages, graphics, no bugs etc. Just not interested playing it. For Dirt Rally 2.0 the development time wasn't that much longer than between dirt rally and dirt 4. Lot of people thought dirt 4 was rushed. Codemasters is gonna release games at fast pace no matter what. There are some bugs in the game (dr2). Of course I would like that there would be zero bugs. As a console (peasant) player on ps4 pro and xbox one x most of my gaming has been bug free. I don't know is there more problems on pc. On ps4 pro graphics are ok and also you never know if they prefer let's say some higher refresh rate physics than improving graphics. FFB is big problem for a lot people, deal breaker for some (maybe not playing at all) and patch is taking surprisingly long time. I hope there is 2 ffb presets(original, new) or that you can just add the effects for what we have now (if you want). I'm puzzled by the big drama (although I took part in little drama myself) that's going on twitter and forums, maybe not so much here but in other forums, because this time vs dirt 4 ,handling is good/stages good, everything else can be fixed. They are now even doing patches and looking into ffb. Obviously there should be more communication. That's all. Those were some wierd random points. These are just my opinions. Let's enjoy this great game!

    I too think that this type of communication is one of Codemasters bigger mistakes. All the negativity after release could ONLY build up because there was no communication to calm it down. ESPECIALLY after what happened with DiRt 4 and its lack of communication. If this part of the industry was handled better I´m convinced it would have helped big time. I´m a bit dumbfounded anyway that the Community Manager goes on vacation during the week of release; the most important time for the game. Don´t get me wrong, I´m sure the pre-release-time was stressful (for everybody), and the vacation well deserved. But maybe Codemasters could have taken somebody else during the Community Managers absence to talk to the community ? Just one experience I had with another game in the last week: Grim Dawn released it´s newest Add On, Forgotten Gods. And sadly the patch that came with the Add On released with a bug that led to crashes. The designer of Grim Dawn was VERY quick to respond on the Steam Forums and their official Forum. He said they needed feedback regarding those crashes. After a couple of hours feedback came from the devs that they identified the issue. Some time later feedback they´re testing a fix. And again later that the fix will release post-haste (together with additional improvements). It was I think one day from the first crash-reports to a fix. I write this because there are many people who always write that "people will ALWAYS complain". That people nowadays are entitled and stuff like that. But during all that time in that crash-thread in Grim Dawn there was ZERO negativity towards the game or the devs. There was frustration that people couldn´t play, but not ONCE has anyone written "This is the last game I buy from you......" or "This game sucks......". And Grim Dawn has no small community; it has sold way over 1 Million copies at this point (and it´s only available on PC). So no, people don´t always complain. And I´m convinced that it would have been different if Crate (the developer of Grim Dawn) would have stayed silent or only written one sentence on Twitter "We acknowledge this bug". I know this more personal communication isn´t always possible; and I don´t expect a status report every couple of hours. But regular communication that comes from the devs themselves, and not only as part of an answer goes a long way to built goodwill towards your company. Goodwill that would come in VERY handy in more difficult times.....(like the release of DR2.0). I think Codemasters built up a LOT of goodwill during Dirt Rally 1s Early Access-phase and the game in general. But they also lost a LOT of that after DiRt 4. The Roadbook from March 20th was great. But that was almost 2 weeks ago......

    That is a fair point. However, is it not appropriate that they go first? Back when DR 1 was in EA and the devs were making video dev diaries, livestreams and generally getting involved you wouldn't have caught me whispering a single bad word about them - despite the jankyness in DR1 at EA launch. What I can't stand is this retreat to corporate animosity, with extremely selective community engagement - as and when it suits them. That is only made worse when those small pieces of engagement seems forced, trite or condescending.

    Have you guys considered reuniting the community beta testing team once again, to help speed up the game patching and testing? There's clearly an issue with bugs, which isn't normal, and it's been dragging for almost 2 months now. The reputation of the game has taken a big hit due to this troubled start and it could really use a re-launch, or a public statement addressing the current situation to tranquilize people both inside and outside this forum. It's important to earn the customers' trust once again, and the most sincere way to do that is to release a bold statement recognizing the current state of the game and reassuring that you are doing everything you can to get the game back where it should be. There's nothing to be ashamed of by doing that, it just shows integrity and consciousness and will provide positive results. Otherwise, I can only see sales tanking even harder as time goes on, and I don't think anyone wants that. We see what's happening here, because we are here, taking part in the discussion and trying to squeeze every bug and concern daily. But the general customer doesn't take part in this forum and has no idea of what's going on. Right now, the current image the general customer is getting is this: "The game has been out for two months and they still haven't been able to patch a sound bug as of v1.3." It's harsh but it's the reality, and word spreads faster from mouth to mouth. Last but not least, I'd also like to applaud all the people in here, doing their best to provide feedback and report bugs, with more or less anger (doesn't matter) and the availability of the devs taking part in this conversation. It just shows how engaged this community and this group is and to be honest I hope it keeps that way. Haven't seen a community so united towards a single game, the rally passion is big. PS: Hope @ChristinaMc's alright since she has been silent lately.
