    Just thought I would update this with a little more thorough/specific testing. All stages (any country) with any rain weather pattern other than "heavy rain" have broken/missing windshield droplet effects. Rain/light rain/showers/light showers is missing the effect around the wiper contact area so you can drive without wipers on at all. Also, the "heavy rain" droplet effect is really minor. The effect appears but the quantity of rain drops is light enough (and their "lifespan" short enough) that you can drive without wipers on without much issue. It should be like Dirt 4 where in "heavy rain" the windshield gets completely soaked and difficult to see through if you turn the wipers off. Lastly, somewhat related, the water splash effect looks decent (on PC anyway) but the lifespan of the particles is too short. You literally don't need wipers at all because the droplets all fade away in like 1.5 seconds. In Dirt Rally you HAD to use the wipers or you'd be blind for a few seconds. edit: Final point related to wipers - there's still that odd slow-motion automatic wipe that happens every minute or so. For one thing it shouldn't happen at all if manual windshield wipers option is turned on. For another, the animation is wrong, it shouldn't be slower than the normal wipe animation. It should just be exactly the same speed. If you flick them manually yourself they do move at the proper speed.

    Yeah, the watersplash effects were great in dr1, really set it apart from the competition, it’s hard to believe that they are now virtually non-existent. Regarding #21, the locations for career championships are still capped at 6. Codies haven’t responded to this (unless i’ve missed it?) so maybe it’s not a bug and just a really baffling design choice? And having read through this thread it does seem like another underwhelming patch, given the size of the issue log. The fix of blurriness of the ps4 pro was significant though so that’s something good for those guys. Not sure why it wasn’t mentioned in the patch notes though, unless the standard “stability improvements throughout” is referring to to it? But they put that in all patch notes it seems so doesn’t confirm it. Fixing the audio bug would have also been good, but that bug now seems even more prevalent 😩 I also haven’t seen a drone or retired car at the side of the road for about a month now. keep up the good work though riggs, you’ve spent a lot of time capturing and documenting this stuff, quite a task it has proved to be.

    Yeah, the Polish translation is pretty bad. I had to guess what some expressions meant and it's still in bad shape after the patches. At least spelling errors have been corrected, but "used" cars are still translated as "wykorzystano", which actually means "taken advantage of". 🙂 As for the track information, I miss the exact percentages of Ice, Snow and Asphalt in Monte Carlo. It would make tyre selection much easier.

    Come on codies...its 2019. Who in their right mind allowed the ridiculous rain graphic to pass development. Its bad enough the headlights dont illuminate far enough in front of the car to push in the dark...then you add a sheet of white lines that looks like they are straight out of a sega genesis game from 1997 makes it impossible. Please for the love of god fix this.

    I know this has been discussed before but yesterday I played more Career mode and I found something completely off. I hope you can see the attached photo. It is the end result of the New Zealand rally in "Clubman" tier. Yes, I'm the Hungarian dude in second place. But there is something absolutely incredible going on there if you look at the final times. How come there is one AI that completes the rally (6 stages) 1 minute 20 seconds faster than any other AI cars? How can it be so much faster when it's only "Clubman" difficulty? I would agree I must be a noob if every AI was faster than me but you can see I completed the rally quite well, I beat all of them (I won 3 stages out of 6) but yet that one AI is ridiculously faster than all the others. Like that S. Bernard was from another tier completely. This is what makes Career mode so hard to enjoy. You go extremely well, in the green, you win stages but then the game decides that one AI is 1:20 faster than the rest, and 0:36 faster than you. How does the game simulate these times? And why does this happen at even the second difficulty level? On a different note, I was playing in Free Play as well and it is ridiculous. I put the AI difficulty down to minimum (1/100)! When I drove the R5 VW Golf, I could win any stage with huge amounts of time, I mean even more than a minute. Obviously not a challenge. However, at the same difficulty I switched to the H2 FWD class (VW Golf) and I lost every stage, the AI was way too fast, even on the minimum difficulty setting. Something must be glitched in this game because there's no way there's so much difference in my driving between different classes. This makes the game completely unpredictable, random and very hard to enjoy.

    Here is a sample video to show you the "FPS Down bug" of Dirt Rally 2.0 (PC) when you go Off the track huge amount of FPS drops occours. During gameplay avg FPS 64 is going down to 24 (-40 FPS down) !!! During replay avg FPS 55 is going down to 46 (-9 FPS drops ONLY compare 9 to 40 ... Oops) Same huge amount of FPS drops occours in every track, any weather condition. The game is getting unplayable if you leave the track by four wheels off. CM should address this problem and check why replay has less FPS down this could be the key to make less FPS drops off the track playing the game. Note! The reason for the difference : replay has got more visual effects than gameplay. Not just FPS drops is the problem, the whole game is slowing down with timing, as you can see in this sample video as the action is getting slides away... This issue is present since the first relase v1.0 Please Codemasters, Fix this issue.

    Same goes for the snow on the windshield in Monte Carlo, there's no accumulation of droplets, anything that hits the screen disappears after a second so there's also no reason to use wipers at all there. I assume the upcoming Sweden will be exactly the same. The dirt stages that are wet at least have mud that hits and sticks after a while so you may need to activate wipers briefly to clear, but yeah the rain drops themselves vanish on their own after a second, so the wipers are fairly meaningless for rain and snow. Plus both the rain and snow fall effects themselves look extremely poor. Older games were far more convincing with weather all over. Not just from other devs like SMS's PCARS, but Codemasters own previous games. It's really bizarre that a modern game with graphical upgrades all over has worse weather visual effects than some 5-10+ year old releases and also the previous entries in the Dirt series. I don't know if the bug thread is the place to discuss the look of this specific stuff, but I would definitely say the fact that rain and snow hardly impacts visibility on the windscreen is a legit issue that needs to be fixed.

    As a developer myself, I can understand that things aren't always as straightforward as users think ("just fix this already!"). And that's why I understand that perfectly policing crashes between players is not something that can be done to always generate the perfect results. However, there are a lot of very obvious situations that could be fixed quite easily and that would fix 80% of the problems seen by users. For instance: make bots have normal speed. They are ridiculously fast on the straights and they are honestly getting in the way of having a DUEL (a "duel" by definition is a match between just TWO opponents). Especially since the entire race is just one lap, having two crazy AI cars means it's impossible to drive the way you would normally drive in F1 (e.g. wait for passing opportunities as opposed to just going for it at every corner) and still hope to be able to catch your opponent. bots should never ever behave like crazy players. I'm really not sure how they ended up programmed like this and how they passed any kind of testing. Every grid start on a track with a slow turn 1 (e.g. Bahrain, Monza, Spa etc) is just ridiculous. They have no notion of "there's no space here, brake", they just slam into me as I'm braking for the corner, they ram into the side of me and if I just stay wide and let them through, they completely miss the corner!! How is this normal behavior for the AI? An AI that isn't really in the fight for anything, since it doesn't matter if you finish 1st or 11th, as long as your opponent is behind you. handle obvious impacts between players. I know some impacts are hard to judge automatically whos fault it was, but there are plenty of instances where it's really easy to notice the intentional manner in which one of the players hit the other: steering into the other player while going on a straight simply not braking and ramming into the player in front as he brakes for the corner do not decrease SR for impact with the bots. Especially given their current agressive/insane nature. But even if that's fixed, as I was saying earlier, if you are 1-2 places behind your opponent, you're gonna have to take risks in overtaking the bots to get to find your actual opponent because you have just half a lap to do it. And I don't care if my opponent is overly aggressive towards AI players, I just care how he behaves when finding human players. do not decrease SR for going outside the track. I find it really ridiculous to see my SR drop because I run wide and get on to the gravel. I already had my speed reduced by magic from 250kph to 40kph, I got an engine penalty, my opponent has already sailed into the distance. I had nothing to gain by it. It makes no sense to also drop the SR.

    Firstly, I'm not calling you naive for watching the youtubers and purchasing a product based on those video's. I'm saying it's naive to think that the reviews they give aren't at all affected by the amount of access they receive. (It's a win win situation. Codemasters gets more coverage/advertising for the new game and the youtubers get more views. Which means more youtube ad money plus a free early copy of the game etc) Secondly, if less people pre-order the game and they wait until it's released, they can decide whether or not it meets their expectations based on actual customer reviews on websites, forums etc or watching different youtube video's. If the game is lacking in content or has issues or it doesn't meet expectations for whatever reason, they are less likely to buy the game. This affects the sales and thus Codemasters profits. Codemasters will then have to look at why their game didn't sell so well and they'll realise that they need to fix the issues in their game to increase sales in the future. Whereas, if people just pre-order the game (let's say F1 2019 for example) and it turns out to be a mess, but CM's profits are up regardless, then there's less of an incentive for them to change things. I'm just using this as an example. I'm not saying the F1 games are totally bad and people should avoid them at all costs, I'm saying that if people wait and see if the game meets their expectations and decide whether or not to buy it based on that, then good quality games will be rewarded with more sales and poor quality games will be met with less sales.

    Tuning does matter. While I'm no expert on tuning and too impatient to tinker around with settings instead of just driving, when really pushing it it definitely makes a difference. I only touch differential settings but finding the sweet spot between too little and too much traction in different situations definitely helped me shaving off a few seconds on a stage in time trial (and that wasn't Poland, it was NZ and Argentina). The chief engineer's "recommendations" aren't recommendations at all. They're just default setups. Against all common sense, he even keeps recommending medium tyres. Another matter is car choice, obviously. If you drive the DS, Ascona, Metro or NR4 Subaru you're going to lose a lot of time. Same for engine tuning, you will lose precious seconds if your engine isn't on maximum*. *I'd finish in the top 3 all the time if I had the best car maxed out. Sadly, I can't max out the best car because then I wouldn't have this excuse anymore, would I.

    Small bug: this keeps happening sometimes, I finish a stage with no damage on my car, but when I load into the next stage the car suddenly has a dent in its bonnet. it's usually cosmetic damage but it's a little bit annoying.

    I understand a like/dislike could be used incorreclty. One sugestion for this is the "Dislike" gives a small penalty, at least some penalty. While a "Like" brings much reward. Could at least encourage fair play, and player decide to troll, its not too devastating. Just an idea.

    Performance on the One S is unacceptable. The fps drops and stutters are so distracting and annoying. I know Codies are not the only one, but if devs can't provide the same gameplay for all platforms, then they shouldn't release the game for that particular platforms that they can't properly optimize their software for. Due to hardware limitations, lack of resources or talent, whatever. Shame because it's not a level playing field now. Playing on the stutter-fest One S against the other guys. And no it's not so enyojable in singleplayer either.... 😞

    Easy killer. Not everyone has $500 to spend on a new console to fix an issue that shouldn’t be present to begin with. If it plays on XB1 original or S, then it should be optimized accordingly for whatever version of the console you own. I own the X before you think I am just a bleeding heart...your post is harsh. The game is the issue, not the version of console. Period.

The problem with dark stages and no visibility has been poorly resolved and now the cockpit of the car is completely dark and some stages over-exposed. Happens specially in Sunset/Dusk times. There are also cases where brightness goes totally dark in the surface and after exiting the forest area it comes back to its right brightness value. We can't change the Penalty Times parameter while setting up a Custom Event. On custom events stage results, the penalty time does not account for the service penalty time (when applied) and therefore will give misleading stage times. Example: Player 1 had a service penalty time, but his stage time shows as if he didn't get a penalty at all. Basically there's no track of this penalty and there's no certainty to the other players in the session wether this penalty has been applied or not. Bug confirmed yesterday while playing with some friends. 35. "Tune Vehicle" option in service area not appearing in My Team Online Events unless returning to service area from main menu. 36. Sound cutting bug is still present. 37. Spanish co-driver call is incorrect in Poland stage "Lejno" and "Zienki". "Limpar" is used as "to clean", and "limpo" alone makes no sense because that's just not how we use the verbs, we say it's "clear" like "sky clear", which doesnt make sense in english but that's the way it is in PT-PT and PT-BR. I tried to resume a custom championship that was left in the middle (it was Monaro, Australia) and once it loaded it showed Monaco stages instead and the progress was lost. Whenever you pause the game or start a new stage, if you're using dashcam (and maybe if you define different cockpit positions), the game will reset the camera to cockpit. Those who drive in the default cockpit already don't experience this issue, and this only happens with External Cameras setting turned off. NOTE: This bug came on the Sweden 4.5GB pre-load patch on Thursday, April 18 (Steam) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I will be updating the list as some of the bugs get confirmation and as any new ones arise. Comparing to the previous list, there were 47 items in the list and we're now down to 38, with the possibility of this number to go even further down if any of the bugs needing confirmation are ironed out (watch out for stroked lines). Overall this reveals a pretty good job in this patch, considering the timeframe and the severity of the bugs that were fixed. There were also a couple of bugs added to this list, that weren't present in v1.2's list yet, although they existed. If any of the remaining bugs, specially the ones with the red note, happen to you in v1.3 please post here. It would also be nice if anyone would help with some of these bugs confirmations.

    I'm 50/50 on this, if anything it should be an option you can disable in clubs I think at the very least. The reason it's in here though is to stop people from blasting the finish line in 6th gear and essentially wrecking their car while getting a free pass onto the next event. This forces you to actually be in control and not do some wild cuts that result in unfathomable finish scenarios.

    Completely disagree, the RX side of the game is officially licenced so should take up equal billing and be complete with regards to tracks. Just keeping it at these 8 tracks would be like releasing the licensed F1 2019 with a third of the tracks missing. There’s room for Rally and Rallycross to co-exist in this game.

    @cmMikeRobson Many thanks for clearing that up, I must say you are doing a very good job here. If you do end up exposing the values to players, please also let them know what the numbers mean i.e. DEGREES VERTICALLY, to avoid even more confusion from the players! One more thing Mike. In OSD Settings there is an option to turn ON and OFF the Instrument Cluster. This options work in all views APART from cockpit view, where it is never visible even when ON is selected. This is a big problem because in some cars and/or depending on your FOV you will not be able to see what gear you are in. Knowing what gear you are in is very important, especially for those of us who don't have H-pattern shifters. PLEASE PLEASE can you add the option to turn it ON or OFF in cockpit view, as it is in every other view. That way everyone is happy- those who want it on or off. I know i'm not the only one effected by this as it is complained about in many forums since Dirt Rally 1. This would be very much appreciated! Thank you
