13 pointsHi team, I have some feedback on the decision to leave DLC nefs encrypted. I’ve tried (somewhat unsuccessfully) to keep this to the point. I've made the key points bold to aid in sending feedback upwards. Firstly, I appreciate the open communication from @PJTierney on this. This is much, much better than keeping us in the dark. Thank you team. The main reason you’ve encrypted these files is based on the concern that if left unencrypted, players won’t purchase the DLC but will export the DLC models and replace the model of an available car. Some perspective: The .nefs validation system you’ve built is already checking for .nefs file modification. The impact is, if people were to replace models in an available car, their career saves will be disabled and times will not be submitted online. The community has already shown from the launches of DiRT 4 and DR2.0 that with this degradation in experience, very few people will risk or bother going through the effort of installing custom liveries and models. People would need to go through the effort of installing custom software, extracting the appropriate model files, and replacing these within the nefs of an available car. This process is not trivial. They would then get the visual benefit - but that’s it - and the replaced car model is cannibalised. My strong suggestion is that for the amount of effort involved in the modding process, and for the quality of in-game experience gained - people won’t bother. The few that do are probably going to pirate or never pay for DLC in the first place. And in the meantime your paying, dedicated and engaged community get frustrated and disappointed. What continuing to encrypt DLC cars means for us: Frustration and disappointment. Less engagement with the game. Less motivation to purchase future DLC. Allowing the community to create liveries may seem trivial - but it is a crucial part of helping create an engaged community that will continue to invest time in the game. Will I use the Porsche 911 SC RS? I’ll try it out and move on. But if I could create a livery for it, I would without a doubt spend around 24 hours of my own time creating a custom livery - then be motivated to spend about as much time in game driving it. In DR1 my favourite car was the 2007 Focus in the 2000cc class. I haven’t touched it in DR2 because the liveries are rubbish. I won’t use the 2000cc class at all as part of Clubs because I can't use a livery which immerses me in the experience. It’s a massive missed opportunity. The only thing that is making me try the other available R2 cars at the moment is the fact I can create a livery that helps engage me and my team in the experience of competing with others as part of a community organised championship. Without both of these things I would be sticking to my Fiesta and running daily events until I get bored. Custom liveries keep things fresh and engaging - keeping me in the game longer. I’m much less likely to purchase additional DLC cars with this encryption in place. I’m talking even if the 206 drops - the livery will need to be hella good to make me consider purchasing - cause otherwise I simply won't use it. Without this nefs encryption imma throw you money. If you’re not going to unlock DLC nefs: At the very least please consider enabling the folder method for DLC cars so we can use liveries for models that existed in previous DiRT titles. Better, please consider also making DLC car textures available to the community somehow. This way the few people you're concerned about still can't rip you off, and there’s even more incentive to purchase your DLC because we’ll be creating a wealth of amazing livery content. If you won’t do either of these… You need to invest in better liveries for DLC cars, or in comprehensive livery editing tools. With love and respect, the livery options we have in DR2.0 just aren't good enough. What will these cost you to implement? What is the cost of an increasingly disillusioned community? Thanks team. xoxo

5 pointsHere's something I havent seen before. Plenty of McRae/6R4 onboard action! I really recommend the channel as well, so much gold to be found on VHS Rallies

1 pointIt's on the front page of this thread EDIT: There seems to crystalize a pattern regarding the preferences. So I think I can setup the first season soon. Despite a few bugs remaining... Anyway, my plan is for the first season to end very close to the Wales release, so to incorporate Wales in the second season already

1 pointThis is essentially what @pigloaf is saying. It's also the most likely thing we have a chance of getting. Don't un-encrypt the cars, i understand the reason not to, but at least allow the game to read folder structure for those cars, the same as the rest of the game does, so if people can fab up a livery, they'll at least be able to use it.

1 pointManaged to do a handful of laps around Latvia and it's pretty damn enjoyable but, like you, I am really looking forward to attempting some backwards entries into turn one at Estering!

1 point@PJTierney Hi, would it be possible for you to include the texture pssg files in the game placed at \DiRT Rally 2.0\cars\XXX\livery_00\textures_high? The DLC cars will not work with only these files.

1 pointFunny as i have not needed an expert to calibrate my monitor for any other game besides this one and all of them look fine. Bottom line is if expert monitor calibrators are needed for the player to have an even remotely pleasant viewing experience then something is wrong with the game, not the monitors. Before changing careers I was studying sound design and one of the first things they teach you is to check your mix and master on multiple different pieces of equipment - headphones, hi-fi speakers, in a club if you can, even in your car. If your mix sounds precisely tuned on the expert-calibrated equipment in the studio that costs 1,000s of dollars but sounds unlistenable in a club or on a regular hi fi then you've failed in your job. Same principle applies here. If the game looks great on an expert-calibrated 2,000 dollar monitor but is almost unplayable in certain section on a 200 dollar TV then something is wrong and it's not the TV that's at fault. On the subject of sound, don't even get me started on how bad some of the audio mixing is in the game. The sound DESIGN is incredible but whoever did the final mix of all the elements didn't do a very good job imo.

1 pointAny info when championship point calculation is fixed, like Expert DiRT club? And how about bug which reset all car setups after each stages? It´s really deal breaker and should fix ASAP. At next patch?

1 pointYesterday when I played 'DiRT Rally 2.0' I noticed sign on which was 'GRID' written. I smashed it. And that made me a bit creative and I made a joke. Obviously it is only for a laugh.

1 pointA lot going on in my life, haven't posted much, lately. So I thought I would share this nugget - not my words, it was posted on a facebook group. Who in hell had the dumb idea to invent rallyracing? Two drunk guys with a warped sense of humor at a bar? Inventor: "We should invent a new more expensive motorsport." Other Guy: "Oh, you mean like dragracing?" Inventor: "Fawk no! Too straight. Too short, Nobody lives a quarter-mile at a time. Make the finish hundreds of miles away with turns." Otherguy :"Oh, like NASCAR." Inventor: "Fawk NASCAR! Make them turn booooth ways." Otherguy: "Uhm,..Roadracing." Inventor: "Roadracing?! Thats for damn pansies! We'll make them do it in the dirt and mud so it takes them weeks to powerwash their cars. Make them get dirty and blow chunky dust-boogers. Manly enough they can wear their-little-sister's-skinnyjean-racingsuit-and-fairy-shoes-and-no-one-will-care manly." Otherguy: "Yeah, .....thats still just racing with a carwash." Inventor: "NO!! We'll make them break their **** so they have to fix it during the race, .... in a forest, .... with no tools. Put HUGE rocks in the road, grow trees in the ditches for them to whack, gotchyas over crests. AND!,.. we'll make more turns than they can remember so they have to take a friend who can remember everything to crash into and to help fix broken ****." Otherguy: "A really good friend or a desperate ******* he is." Inventor: "Oh, but here is the better part. Tease em. Put HUGE glowing boards with finish flags at the end so they can see it and have hope they are almost done. BUT THEN, put a BIG jump before the finish with more **** like stumps and boulders to land on." Otherguy: "So they just do it one time?" Inventor: "Fawk no. We start the race very early and run it very late so they have no sleep. Have checkpoints to make them drive all over bum-fawk countryside. We make them share a pee in the woods. And we'll call it rally [/DrunkenSlur] because they rally wanted to finish it." Otherguy: "Brilliant! and then whoever still isn't fixing **** can have a party to compare how much **** they broke to see who the biggest loser was. Inventor: "And drink to forget so they will come to the next one." And that is how rally was born. Suckers!

1 pointShe is dude, like she can be really nice and then flips at the smallest things. I know shes had bad relationships in the past, one of which she got pregnant and then guy left and never came back, but looking at how she is I cant say i blame him if she was already like this, although ditching a kid isnt cool. It's a shame as her kid is ok, pretty much every time shes been here she wants to play a game in VR. But theres only so many times I can tell my bro as he doesnt listen and then comes crying to me when it goes wrong. Its frustrating as last time they split up I gave him a load of money to put a deposit down on a flat but then he ends up with her again.

1 pointThe Latvia track is absolutely brilliant! The attention to detail when it comes to dust, smoke, bangs and pops is really second to none. I can sit watching things in slow motion all day

1 pointWhat an insane weekend. Wah. So mad. This is why I love RX. So disappointed for Marklund and GCK. Even if the rules are the rules, it's not fair for that team. Kevin Abbring is the real surprise for me. What a nice drive. Deception from the RX Cartel. I was waiting for a team strategy during the semi, Doran could have forced to slow cars behind him and secure a place for Bakkerud but no... and spotters were not at the highest level this weekend ! 🤔 By the way, the most fun RX weekend so far from long time. My little son was sleeping on my chest during the semis and the Final. You could easily imagine his lack of rest during this time Cheers

1 pointHey 👋 the GRID team is at E3 right now talking to media and press, so not on the show floor. New work-in-progress gameplay to show everyone is in the works right now 👌

1 pointBelieve it or not, most of the forum regulars don't have any ill feelings towards the WRC team. There is no reason for wanting either game to fail, both teams have different qualities to offer. Any good choices they implement will have knock on effects here and you only have to watch the WRC videos to see who their biggest influence has been during their development time.

0 pointsIs the insight to sell a part game with minimal content then try and sell the rest as dlc? If so good job
