2 pointsRIGGS, YOU FOOL!!! My heart nearly jumped out of my chest when I saw that image! I had my arms in the air screaming: "YEEEEEEEEEEEAH!!!" for about two seconds! Than I saw the words 'Fan-made' and became enraged and soon after that depressed... Thanks for that! Really appreciate it!

1 pointARX? I hope the number of entries rise, as I can't see the series lasting long as things are at the moment.

1 pointFor me, the high frequency 'rumble', similar to what you get on the controller, to indicate the texture and grip of the tires on the surface is missing. And it would get much lighter when the tires lose grip, and much softer and higher frequency on ice, lower frequency and softer on tarmac, and higher frequency and strong on gravel. To be honest, it already feels a bit like this in Dirt Rally 1.0. In short, something that describes the texture and how gripped the tires are to it.

1 pointAlthough i am not really a fan of the PS3 and PS4 gen WRC games, the career mode seems to be interesting developed and I think parts of it can be well implemented in the DiRT series, but possible even better in the DiRT series, because you not forced to the WRC scheduele and have next to rally also rallycross. Managing a team and driver career I understand that it is forced you need to manage a team as well in WRC8, but in real life that is a lot of times not the case. I think it would be better you would have the option to also manage a team. But a lot of drivers have a sponsor package and pay a seat for a championship or event. F.e. Anton Marklund has a family team, but drives for GCK. Choosing which events your participate in. I think this is a good feature, but for example if i choose to a full ERX Supercars, I should also be able to do a few one off WRX events or a local event or a rally championship. But I shouldn't be able to do the Höljes WRX events, because than also the ERX event takes place at Höljes. Also the amount of events you participate in depends on regulations and on the amount of sponsorship package. Money / Sponsorship There is no talk about it how it works. But for DiRT I would imagine you can sign with sponsors and the possible maximum amount they want to sponsor is 850.000 if you rent a team/car than (depending which team/car) f.e. the costs for an EuroRX event = 100.000 the costs for an WorldRX event = 125.000 It is not possible to do the full WRX season, because that costs are to high = 1.125.000, and you can only do 6 events. So instead you do a full EuroRX (6x100.000 = 600.000) and two WRX events (2x125.000) and have 8 events for the season planned. You can also invest money in testing/sponsor days to upgrade the car and stuff. Also in this case the livery editor will get a good valuable position again. It can go in different ways. If you have Red Bull as main sponsor, there will be certain set of location where the sponsor logos will be displayed, but with alternatives. Also you can than choose f.e. if the Red Bull stickers need to have a chrome, glossy or matte effect. The base of the car still can have different lay-outs and colors as well. Becuase Maybe during the season you will get an invitation for a GroupB historic rallycross event and maybe a sponsor gives extra money to enter in a local event. Or maybe get a call te replace a injured WRX driver (f.e. what Joni Wiman did for Niclas Grönholm). ofcourse you can do a lot of paremeters. If you rent a Hansen Peugeot, than maybe a seasons costs double or triple compared if you rent the older less competive Ford Fiesta from the less experienced Xite Racing team. Basically you have two parameters here for a team (A = experienced top team / E = beginner team) and for the car (A = Car well mainted and latest upgrades / E = Older car with no upgrades. Under it there are more parameter But maybe also can go for the option to manage a team. You buy a older Polo or Fiesta for 300.000 euro. Than the costs for the events are lower, but you also need to repair the car costs and do maintenance or buy upgrades. You start probably as an E team and with a E car, but ofcourse this will be more upgraded (what already happened in D4 and DR2), but when upgraded also results in extra costs a season (because experienced team or upgrades costs money). So maybe in the beginning the salary is just 100.000 a season, but when it is a top team, maybe it costs 500.000 a year, next to the investments for training and stuff and hiring more people.

1 pointTHis ist what I wrote a few days ago. No feelings what the tyres are doing. In DR1 (yes, it is often used to explain the ffb) you can feel the tyres very well. When you drive in Monte Carlo with the little ice-fields you feel nothing about them. When you are underway on a tarmac-stage and the track is wet, you don´t feel the puddles . It is only optical... Its like driving on smooth ice or flying over the tarmac-track The suspension is done very well!!👍

1 pointThat german co-driver is just awful, though. It really hurts listening to these pace notes. Phil has much more character in my view.

1 pointHey @Pfei Thanks for the reply! Good to hear this seems to be fixed! let me know if it occurs again and i will investigate it further 🙂

1 pointFair enough, but just going from that post I was expecting further refinement, which in my opinion (and the opinion of many others), the game still needs. Which is not to say the game is terrible, it just means that it could be better with a bit more attention to these more nuanced effects. As an example of a game that feels great Codemaster's own F1 2019 has fantastic FFB IMO.

1 pointI can assure you that we do read and track many of the community bugs and issues, even if we don’t always communicate about all of them until they’re resolved. Codemasters has an open forum policy in that many staff are registered here and tagged as such. When I walk through the studio I often see at least one screen with the forum on it 😉 I’ve also been working together with the team on a bug tracker and we have regular (as in twice a week) meetings checking the status of things. In short, while you might not see direct responses, your voices are being heard 🙂

1 pointIt was intended to look fake 😄 the title says it all anyway.. I even got the 4th week wrong, it was supposed to say W7.

1 pointSomeone who already used it should share a new pacenote file for a DR 2.0 stage I don't understand how to use it, just would be awesome to share witheach other better pacenotes

1 pointMaybe it's been posted before but its great stuff. The Mini WRC is a cool car that had great potential.

1 pointBear in mind that I'm still figuring my way through all of this, I've only been here since the start of June. 😉 The main reason for being somewhat vague is that I don't want to get into a position of "promising" things that may change or not get delivered, or aren't ready to be announced. I don't want to be in a scenario where I say "___ is coming to Version 1.7" and then 2 days later dev team tells me it's taking longer to go through QA than expected and gets pushed back to 1.8. Bigger things like VR and any potential future content require more coordination than simply dropping things in a forum post or Discord chat. Rest assured that once things do get locked in (be it dates or the content itself), I am always interested in drumming up hype. 🙂 One thing I can say right now is that the next patch will not be on a Tuesday, it's expected to be on a Thursday. Expect it in early August (first week or 2). 👍🏻

1 pointMost of the team is actually the same. Paul Coleman might not have taken part a lot in it, but he sure had his finger in DR2 plans. Also, Ross Gowing, the current Senior Game Designer responsible for this game, worked in DR1 as well. Don't forget Paul Coleman was the game designer behind DiRT4, among other people who worked in DR1. DR2 is a direct sequel to DR1, not just in branding but also in gameplay and core. You might say it looks like a D4 successor due to the engine updates (graphics, lighting and other stuff), but they simply took what D4 had best, it wasn't all bad.

1 point🔶 Ohhh... and by the way, it would be a good idea to put a "Cancel" button or something like that on this screen ... I stayed frozen for almost 10 minutes and forced to restart my console.

1 pointFor anyone using the G29, I asked David Greco for some tips for setting the Force Feedback and he got back to me. Here’s what he said... “I use default FFB but 50% strength on the Logitech. Also, I use throttle linearity around 20% and 360 to 400 degrees rotation, depending on track. If it is too sensitive, use 400, otherwise 360 is a 1 to 1 ratio with the ingame wheel.” Hope this helps.

1 point1. "Sequential or H-Pattern +/- Clutch" option is a priority. 2. "Assists" - Have an option to select "Authentic" assists that correspond to the real-world counterpart. 3. Make analog handbrakes available under "input reporting" and give us deadzone, saturation, etc adjustments just like pedals. 4. Brief descriptions of options from within the GUI. 5. Let us choose not only a default steering device, but also a default menu navigation device, so that keyboard keys can show up instead of buttons.

1 pointThis!!!!! Please, Please, Please, Please, Please... pretty please!!! 😞

1 pointAdding UI text to each of the settings, with a brief explanation of what they do (like in D4 and DR1), would do wonders and I'm sure it would help a lot of people. There's some people complaining about that lack of guiding text in steam reviews. Just take what's in the PDF, shorten it as necessary and paste it in the game for each setting accordingly.
-
1 pointI'll start with the obvious one: we really need the 'Sequential or H-pattern' and 'Sequential or H-pattern + clutch' options from DR1. edit: this was added in patch 1.6, good job 🙂 Beyond that, I definitely like the way multiple input devices are handled, it's a big improvement over DR1 and makes it much easier to configure my wheel, pedals, gamepad and separate shifter independently. And massive props for the PDF document, it's amazing and super useful/interesting. Another thing we were discussing on Discord recently is the Clutch Override assist. Why is this considered an Assist? The R5 cars, for example, have actual clutch pedals, and yet when the game is set to Sequential shifting, my clutch pedal doesn't do anything with the assist set to Off. Maybe we need a Sequential + Clutch option? edit: another thing I thought of is that it would be good to include high-end wheels in the config by default, in particular the various direct drive wheels. I've seen a couple of times now for example Jimmy Broadbent streaming DR2 after a patch and having to edit the input XML file each time, to much frustration. It's a fairly minor thing but it'd go a long way to creating positive impressions.

1 pointYes more optionality in this game would be great. This needs a good software-architectur. If I experienced right, all cars have the same pacenotes. I think adapted to the 2000's. With a Group B car all pacenotes have to be interpreted with caution. Greetings.
