i would have bought the game on release, then i saw this trophy. "pure gold" is the one thing that is keeping me from getting the game.

Select the second livery in game, then you'll have a pretty good idea on what car the sound was recorded from.

Im just sad the car will never see gravel. I understand somewhat. Thank goodness I can wrap my fun and $$ around a tree anytime I want in DR 😆, and feel good in the morning.

Three Kit Cars is a weird number right? There was a rumor about a Nissan Kit Car

I got Wreckfest yesterday and the FFB for that game feels so much better than 2.0 and much more natural. Codies has a lot of work to do on FFB here's hoping GRID rights Dirt's wrongs.

All that effort and expense to own a WRCar and he ended up with a bugeye. Unlucky.

I'd rather have the Finnish league than this 😛

Here on PC, having fun with the Dirt WRC Italia Championship. Look the details on the windscreen! this is crazy! and i didn't even used a sort of editing program! it's all from vanilla game with an average-spec PC

Codemasters reply for anything related to the safety car would be something like this

What!? I paid 90€ for Deluxe Edition (Retail) + a nice steelbook. Now another 27€ for the next 2 seasons. And...IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII dooooooooooooon't caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaare.... 😄

So after playing some more races today, I came to the conclusion that the changes are very minimal in the overall path and not necessarily positive. First off, the safety rating was changed. It seems as long as you don't get a penalty you improve. I didn't seem to lose rating from just warnings like before. That means you can cut corners and hit people and still move up as long as no penalty was given. Now even higher ratings will have dirtier racers. Second, the skill rating. With lowering both the gain/loss now you need to do more races (as it was mentioned before), and with that more times taken out. And finishing at the back is still quite a big loss. There have been numerous times where I'm 4th-6th/15 and get hit on the first lap (or hit someone who is in the middle of the track sideways) and have to fight from the back with a broken car losing 20-30pts. That can still wipe a whole lotta progress (considering some races I only get 2-4 pts). Now you just have to deal with it longer. At this point I welcome the achievement/trophy being changed to what it was last year, even doing 1000 races as an other option (at least I won't have to care if I have bad races because of others and it keeps ranked races alive longer), or that 500 pts reparation idea. Without a significant change to the system this still is just a headache.

I posted a suggestion to change the requirements to Achieve a Gold skill rating OR complete 1000 ranked races as both require dedication and I don't think it would cheapen the achievement for the players that have already gotten it through increasing the skill rating Didn't get much traction though so I don't think people liked the idea

They ruined AI in the rain after patch 1.05 I think. Please get it back to how it was when the game was launched. If you are playing offline at least you have a workaround which is to decrease the AI level but if you're online that's not possible

I thought it was fine at launch although the AI were at times a little too slow but given it's far easier to make mistakes in the wet by pushing too hard because the AI are too fast now they need to bring the speed back down again. I think it only needed a minor adjustment to speed them up but it felt like they did a major one which has ended up I think screwing the whole game up

Seriously? The game hasn't even been out 2 months yet. It is very early in the game's life cycle, and way to early to be talking about not supporting things until the next game. Also, why on earth are Codemasters still producing a brand new F1 game each year? It no longer makes sense. They'd be much better off getting people to buy season passes, and pushing out incremental updates. It'd also benefit the fans, who could play any season they like. Imagine being able to play a multi year career, from 2014 to 2019, with historically accurate driver changes and team changes. That's the kind of thing that would be achievable if they didn't scrap the previous version of the game every year.

Is it possible to create a poll on this website about whether the AI pace is much too strong in the wet or not? I would like to see the percentages for "Yes" and "No". I bet most would indeed say the AI are too op in the wet because they are.

BTW.. I think I understood you are expecting sinking into loose surface effect to be major because of your expectancy of what rally roads consists of. But TBH all rally tracks I saw in reality (and in media) are not butter-slick ironing board covered by half a meter of soft sand. Most of them are very bumpy with a bit of loose surface over the top. Doesn't matter it's sand, gravel, dust. And if it's a mud, for sure the road is damaged, bumpy with stones. Simply, going over such surfaces is brutal. So how did you get to idea of smooth FFB?

It is the matter of dynamic range. Mentioned forces interfere to significant extent only if ratio between them is unartistically low. And this is what happens in our gaming steering wheels. Consider, in reality 2 forces generating torques differs by let's say 5Nm and additionally by frequency. Remember that such steering wheel has still headroom for greater torques (20 or even 30Nm). In such hardware configuration you can clearly distinguish those forces and their origin. Now imagine what will happen on steering wheel which is able to generates maximum torque of 3Nm and is not able to reproduce signals with required frequency? At first those are compressed reducing their dynamics into available range. At second they will be even lowered down to leave a headroom for stronger ones (ie self-aligning ones). But cannot be lowered under some level because our FFBs are highly not linear in very weak torques range or even are not able to reproduce such low forces. In result mentioned to signals ends up in the same range let's say about 2Nm both. On top of that some forces will not be "replayed" or will be affected (interference, aliasing etc) by FFB response times. And here we go: mess in forces, inability to distinguish their origin... something you are talking about. But, it's not because caned effects or wrong simulation. It's because our steering wheels are way weaker than real ones. Problem is, that to be competitive, we need all of those driving information on steering wheels, since we have no other way to get it. And some additional too, translated from other cars dynamics. And yes: you have to learn how to read them. I can say "we" since after 20 years being in simulations world needs of community are pretty obvious to me. As you know already it's impossible to make all forces 'loud and clear' at the same time. Therefore devs have to make compromises, eventually providing all possible forces with options influencing a ratio between them given to a user. They're doing the best trying to pull maximum out of a game engine. At this point remember what I've said about imperfection of all simulations and reasons why must be augmented (inlc. your effect of digging into surface).

Faya - please be sure to pass on the feedback to the devs not to do anything drastic here. There are only a small number of people complaining about the AI being too fast in the wet, and at least an equal number saying they are ok. It’s quite clear that there’s not an underlying problem with the AI in the wet (from the fact that a number of people don’t have any problem). It would be crazy to make the AI easier in the wet and potentially ruin the game for some people based on such a small number of people complaining!
