@CMMcBabe @ matthewhorsman @MrJamieLowes

3 pointsPretty sure I'm still the one with the most downvotes per posts, so I got that going for me. In fact, at least 4 people didn't like the fact that I don't love the new BMW. And now that I just looked at it, you can no longer go through and see what posts have been flagged by others like you could on the old forum. You can see all your recent notifications, but that won't even take you to the comment. Cool. I like literally nothing about the new forum, but at least they fixed the loading times.

2 pointsProbably. Happens in real life too. Also, when I do look at whoever downvotes me, 90% of the time it's someone with only a few posts. Haha, there's a podcast called "Please Stop Talking" where the guys just get drunk and tell stories. One of them is French-Canadian and every story just ends up being how terrible he or the other French Canadians are as human beings. Edit* Holy ****, I've been here for a long time. I forgot that back in 2016 I was the first to vote for getting @tbtstt a free PS4 copy of Dirt Rally, since he was drooling all over us PC guys during the EA. You're still welcome Steve. They sent out an extra free copy just for you. And wow, Chu-chu was around too. Guess he's just not very active.

2 pointsBUG: Gear indicator on dash not readable at Greece. The (red led) Gear indicator that is on the dash on the cockpit camera view is not readable on the Greece stages. I initially thought it was gone (black) but on some vehicles I can just barely see it. It is very, very dim. Those of us who do not use the HUD rely on this indicator. Especially on Manual Sequential gear selection cars. This seems to be only a problem on the Greece stages. I have not confirmed if it is a problem on any RX stages, only Rally. I have included photos of the Citroen C4 and MINI Cooper S as examples. It is this way with most cars that use the Red gear indicator. 2 pointsAnd I prove my point by chukonoku disliking my post. Nice. Reminds me when I worked at a restaurant and there was like 5 Chris's and 2 of them had the same last name. "You know where Chris is?" "Which one?" "The Waiter." "...which one?"

2 pointsThere is not a whole lot for sale in the sport of F1 in reality, so why forzarize this game to begin with micro transactions?! The removal of team cars from multiplayer was a great way in excising content from the game to meet an earlier delivery date, but it also gave Codemasters the lattitude to be creative with car liveries and racing outfit satorial flair, given. But to charge someone 10% of what the game costs for such a combination is to me a bit excessive. Why can't we just use hard earned competition points for the purchase of said items?!!!

1 pointI don't think anything really carried over from the old forums, especially considering there's new "flags" now. I have no idea how member reputation works, or why mine is so low, but whatever. Haha, I have 3,500 posts, chu-chu has 500, pretty sure he talks a lot of ****, and has the same member rep as me. I'll take that with pride. Biggest, most disliked member.

1 pointAdditionally I lost my Opel Manta 400 in this process somehow. All the nice stats and upgrades gone. @PJTierney Is there anything you can do, to get my Manta back? I don't wanna buy a used one from the store, because it already has stats (wich is another strange decision by CM). And only the one for km/miles driven will reset when you buy it, the others not.

1 pointHi, The actual error is caused by problems with IP address being released, so the game can no longer communicate to the servers. This can sometimes happen when the game is idle for extended periods (as per the suspended example above). If this is occurring when actively playing the game then I'd check that your connection to the router is stable: faulty wires, or changing between wireless and wired connections after the game has launched may cause an IP address that the system is trying to use to become invalid.

1 pointWell my copy arrived over the weekend and i've spent some time with it today. First impressions are whilst it's nowhere near as tragic as Jake initially suggested it's also nowhere near as epic as a lot of reviews are suggesting. Visuals are much improved over 7 but that's not saying they're good (because they're not), that's just saying that Kylotonn have set such low standards with previous WRC's it would have been impossible not to improve upon them. Controller handling was a bit of a struggle which after much tweaking did improve massively, but the wheel is another story and tweaks are still ongoing. Car physics are still awful with cars wildly bouncing all over the place and performing bizarre stunts the second you drift off the beaten path onto rugged or uneven surfaces and I also found that the auto respawn frequently placed you back on track without giving an opportunity to recover from occasionally recoverable situations. On a positive note locations and diversity are once again WRC's strong point but it wasn't too long before I was seeing familiar scenery and/or identical locations hidden behind different weather conditions/times of day and the new 'dynamic' weather system does look pretty decent, so even though you do spend a lot of time travelling over the same locations the game does create a different feel quite well. The key (and still unresolved) issue is that of longevity and the desire to want to continue playing after career completion because the community aspect of WRC8 is still very poor and perhaps suggests, like previous games, Kylotonn are just targeting casual gamers with a 'throwaway' approach to things. Multiplayer is also a bit of a graveyard but from my experience of previous (XB1) WRC's that's not an unusual thing. But all in all the game seems to do what it is set out to do pretty well and I can see the appeal to those who want to just pick up and play WRC8. It's not a great game (will it ever be a great game) and most definately isn't a direct replacement for Dirt Rally 2 but a lot will prefer it because it doesn't insist on the same levels of patience and practice of Dirt Rally. After all, such is the forgiving nature of WRC8, it's more than possible to win a rally without ever repairing or tuning your car...

1 pointDamn. @PJTierney has just passed me on reps 😶 Hail to the new king! It has been a good journey.

1 pointA different Codemasters studio has the licence for the entire F1 championship, tracks included. Their accord with the promoter means that they don't have to deal with individual track owners. Even Poliphony, without such a deal, couldn't manage to get Spa in GT Sport...
-
1 pointNot strictly rallycross, but the last time we'll see the PSRXVW Polo in action?...

Tbh a game from 2000 have a better lobby system then this game .

1 point@Faya When will you comment on the problems with the driver transfers? Pretty stupid in my opinion to say nothing about it when ther are so many topics and remarks in this forum. People stop playing the game or have not bought it yet because of this issue. You react to questions about the Gasly- Albon switch but that should not be the priority to fix. There are a lot more game breaking problems if you read the posts in this forum. Most mentioned problems are - Driver transfers - AI to quick in wet - Acceleration of AI is to good or/ and always spot on which is not realistic. Why is it not possible to comment on these issues????
-
1 pointThis game just smacks of a rushed product...........how have all these issues been missed before launch? I bet Codies barely did any testing for this game. It's a joke how companies can sell broken products and we're supposed to be fine with it. Only in the gaming industry does this **** happen.
-
1 pointIf the driver transfers get fixed and the AI development is indeed fixed! Then theres a small chance I will get this if its not full price. I will be watching the forum closely. With that said I am still enjoying last years lesser broken game so might wait for 2020s game. Maybe a 2 year game between mightcmake games feel a step has been taken.
