2 pointsSorry, but no way should you be able to invite friends to ranked lobbies. That’s really not the point of them. If you want to play with friends you can... in unranked lobbies. If you want to play competitively you can... in ranked lobbies. The choice is there already.
-
1 pointI hope this thread gets a little bit of attention... Topic: F1 2019 don't let us invite friends to ranked lobbies anymore. Why they probably done that: To ensure, friends don't boost each other to ranks they don't deserve. To ensure, friends with D rank don't get invited to S or A lobbies. This leads to: Many players stopped playing lobbies at all. The playerbase is obviously smaller than in F1 2018. S-Lobbies are rare. To find lobbies at all, they put S-players in C/D-Lobbies nethertheless. Most time you will find no ranked lobby at all 25% lobbies are dead. plus: ranked is not a bit fairer than in F1 2018 My personal experience: I am a community leader from germany. We are 750 gamers and 70 active F1 players (in our 3 leagues) at the moment. Our community and the friends from other german communities loved F1 2018 and loved playing ranked together. We don't have a single unfair player with us. Almost everyday a few of us played ranked together and we enjoyed that a lot. It is a good distraction from league races. ...Why would you play alone when you are in teamspeak with other people. Now we as a whole community stopped playing lobbies... From what I read hear and on reddit, ranked is not a bit fairer than in F1 2018. Also boosting was never a problem in F1 2018. Not like in other games like rocket league (where you still can play ranked with friends and it works great). "Just play unranked" Most players just play to compare themselves with others in competitive manner. And almost every other game let people do that with their friends. PC-Gamers trend to play games in teams und often don't care about unranked modes at all. Also unfair players are allowed to crash you in every second corner without any punishment. You can't avoid this people in unranked. We want to play together with other people online the drive as fair as we do. Suggestion There will still be people out there that will disagree with this thread. I hope all players that usually play ranked alone won't dislike this thread straightforward. 1) There is a simple solution: Bring friend-invites back, but if the safety rank of the invited player don't fits the regulations of the lobby put him in visitor state. Of course: In a C-Lobby you should still be allowed to invite S-ranked friends as they should be aware of possible D-ranked players in this lobby. @Faya Kind regards, iosis

1 pointI've aquired a driving style which very rarely lets me "getting lost" where the paddles are, even with largen real DoR. What I do is, whenever I turn, the left hand doesn't leave its spot, more specifically the thumb of the left hand doesnt leave its spot on the wheel. The other hand grabs around (and shifts and handbrakes). The left always stays with the rotation until it is back straight. This way your head intuitively learns where the paddles must be in relation to your hand position. I sometimes shift in the middle of a hairpin, with the paddles being completely flipped in position. But I have to barely think about it. My head just feels like "Oh my hand is over to right now, so for downshift I have to pull the paddle on the right" Or more accurately "For downshift I pull paddle at the location of my left hands position." (Sometimes it''s also the right hand moving with the wheel. Point is, I always have one of my hands at the neutral 9-3 points of the wheel to intuitively know how it stands, without looking at it.) Since I happen to have a channel, I can even show some moving pictures of what im talkin bout:

1 pointPretty good event in Riga. I had planned to be there this weekend, but the previous weekend and also next weekend I have busy plans. Next to that I have an invitation to meet a Dutch RX team which has a lot of experience in RX. Has build a lot of RX cars and parts including for teams who are on the WRX and ERX grid. Looking to check if I can do S1600 next, but need to get a lot of budget to have a good serious program. But if I manage, than maybe next year you guys might see me on the ERX grid 🤪 Now about Riga. Quite good racing. But the track... To much is decided on the first turn. Also strange penalties. The Larsson DQ. IMO a race incident. I think Timmy has raced well on Sunday and I think the win is more than deserved. But the Hansen also had quite an advantage with testing a lot at the Riga track. One thing I am happy about is the championship fight. How can people not be happy the factory teams are gone? Multiple race winners, multiple drivers on the podium, a lot of different drivers in the finals, and the championship fight till the last race and just one point between the first two. And those drivers had a mega incident in the first round. For South Africa it will be excited, though the Hansens performed there better than Bakkerud when they were there the last seasons 😕
-
1 pointHave you tried to downshift with paddles on a 720° DoR setup? Way too annoying trying to track the paddles after half a rotation
-
1 pointDepending on how South Africa goes, I suspect the Hansens will employ team orders to push one of them ahead of Bakkerud.

1 pointYeah but I think it's more a problem of tarmac physics, not just this individual car.
-
1 pointI honestly don't know. It's open for everyone, so just sign up via the Website and see if it becomes selectable in the console version. I would assume it should work though.

1 pointHi! I read the forum for few weeks and finally created account because of M2. @PJTierney does a great job! I am really surprised of the quality because I came for Forza world where games are great but communication with fans is almost none. Currently I love Dirt rally 2 and the support on the forum is great. Good job!

1 point"If you build it they will come". Nothing much was built and only a few came... Then most left for elsewhere.

1 point@Striker_703 I did some testing at 110 AI around Spain, heavy rain, short qualifying. The AI did a 1:30.197 Want to know the world record time trial Lap for Spain in the wet? It's a 1:30.511 So yeah, you could set a world record and still be nearly half a second off pole on the highest difficulty, or drive the 15th best lap time a human has ever done on TT this game (out of thousands of laps) and you'd still qualify P6 in a Mercedes, against slower cars. So please stop insisting we are just 'slow' because you beat them a couple of times on 80 AI in multiplayer practice rather than an actual qualifying session.

1 pointUntil the majority of players is playing the game in different views than cockpit cam, i think there is a small interest for Codemasters to implement this option. But i really like the idea and it would be fantastic for the immersion. At the moment i switch off the halo column, but this doesn't feel right. The option for transparency would be great for all cockpit users.
