As mentioned previously, the team is investigating implementing Oculus SDK support into the Steam version. Looks like this is part of that investigation 😉

Im sorry PJ, and I know this isnt on you; as you was not with Codemasters back in Febuary. But this is the original Oculus announcment, and this is exactly when Codemasters should have been informing their prospective customers that Steam would be OpenVR and the Oculus version on the Oculus store only. It was highly apperent that people who own Oculus hardware were buying Dirt Rally 2.0 on steam because of that single tweet, and a lot of this mess over VR could have been avoided had that original announcment been far less vague. They was clearly 100% sure VR was coming back then, so they 100% had a responsibility to make sure their customer base could make 100% informed decisions. Look how been vague hit Turn10 in the rear, that same thing is now hitting Codemasters.

I need to agree with post above. limited performance for Oculus Rift powered by SteamVR is not dependent on how users built their rigs. it's given by a fact of using SteamVR software layer which causes additional overhead. In other words is not performant as while using Oculus SDK. It's a common fact and every one involved in VR (especially programmers) are aware of that. No Setting Guides can help with that*). It will remain until Steam version make use of Oculus SDK Edit: *) except of helping in understanding SS settings found in SteamVR

Well, i now play both wrc8 and Dirt 2. Both games have their have their plus and minus. So for me, good times as a rally fan.

You could add (maybe later this year by patch) the option to restrict or fix the cockpit camera to all lobby players, as in other simulators like Project cars, there is an option that requires all players to use same camera, this would be very good to improve the experience and in championship events, make everyone can use the same camera, because today it is common for faster players to use the top camera. What do you think of the idea?

It was rather stupud to celebrate. At that point it was already clear to me that Ekstron would pull out to help Larsson into the final if necessary. The time Larsson set in his semi was good so pretty sure he would be 1e reserve driver.

When JZStudios said 'no' he put the door wide open for some good gossip Exactly, gossip, this is THE place for it. No need to get violent, angry or unfair. Maybe you feel misunderstood but hey, it is just gossip

This Troll bickering is rather funny. Back in the day, a certain Community Manager was famous (and loved) for trolling us. This whole thread (Gossip) was dedicated to figuring out weather he was trolling us or actually posting accurate information. I think we need to take in the light heartedness of this threads roots. If your some kind of snowflake that is going to whine that their petals are crushed from a particular post, I'd advise you to create another thread, or go home to your nursery till you man up. Just come back when you've taken your training wheels off. 😁

Did my run through Argentina. Actually went better than expected, had some mishaps as usual thanks to the rocks n stuff. But I only had a shattered Windscreen temporarily. And I think this is my first Argentina without any steaming radiator XD Am alone on the board now... so lets wait how far the cautious approach gets me. Made a little video of Stage 7 to maybe advertise some more League members via Youtube:

Clearly its cutting cost of licence fee for livery, which is OK, the Car looks almost complete.. but then there are some Cars that have two liveries like SUBARU Impreza 2001 almost indentical, just for Burns and Solberg (paid two times for licence fee!?) , and there is situation with Focus RS Rally 2007 with none of liveries..

There is no mention of Turbo in repair menu of BMW M2 Competition. But - it's still breakable. So after you break it - you can't fix it. There is just no option to do that in repair menu. So you're stuck with a slow car with no turbo pressure. FOREVER.

Sorry for my bad English: I have both games (Dirt Rally 2.0 and WRC 8 ) and loving both of them. The stages and weather effects are very good in WRC 8. At the framerate: i thought i was going to have a bad time with the framemate, but it is not effecting me. 60 fps would be better (like Dirt Rally 2.0), but the framerate is steady and graphics are good. Overall: a solid 9 out of 10 for me. Will continue too play both of them, but overall will put more hours into the WRC 8 career mode.

I finally received the game, playing it on standard PS4. My impressions after 2-3 hours of play: PROS - On my plain vanilla PS4, the graphics are way better than DR2. Maybe it's different on other platforms but on my machine, DR2 often looked blurry. - The ambiance is very addictive, things like roadside crowd noise, helicopter above, etc. Better immersion generally. - It's a more complete game altogether: training, split screen play, a proper career mode (though I have barely had time to look at it so far) - The weather effects are great CONS - I still have not been able to find the great driving feel of DR2. It's not bad to any degree, but it's different, and generally I have preferred DR2 so far. - I find that the cars tend to fly off much easier than in DR2 when you start touching the side of the track (is that what some call the "Apollo effect"?). Kind of annoying. - The better graphics come at the price of lower framerate. I found it bothering for the first 15 minutes, not anymore. STILL TO BE DECIDED - Difficulty: it's a more inviting game for beginners, if only because of the training tracks. But so far I haven't found it easier than DR2, though maybe that's because I haven't properly set my T300 yet. - Probably a lot more... What is certain is that I do not find it obviously worse (or better) than DR. I'd say that WRC 8 is a great thing for rally games: competition will push CM to do craft an even better DR3, and maybe get them to fix the annoyances of DR2 faster (hello crazy AI times in some classes...)

Greece + R5s and RGTs = Perfection Loved this venue as the first place I learned to enjoy the 70s RWDs in DR1 and great to have it with all the DR2 upgrades in. Thanks for sticking at this game, it's finally turning into something much greater than the sum of its parts.

Awesome idea, totally agree, you have made some great pics there to showcase your point. We need this as a option for the players as irl the halo transparently gets out of the drivers vision (same as with our own nose on our face), but on a 2d flat monitor this effect can not be properly simulated without a transparency slider. I guess many people surely will be happy with this one, me included. Though imo only the halo column should get that transparency option, as that is the only part blocking our view directly, the halo bar should stay untouched.
