LOL True. Saw a video on YouTube about how to get a realistic view and it was TCam. It doesn't even require critical thinking, just common sense.

@Hoo I've tried this, here is my findings. I'll try to be brief as I can but I ended up writing a load of notes down. Turned on Ps4 and wheel calibrated okay. I set the t300 base to 2 flashes on DOR. Loaded the game. Went straight into Silverstone GP mode. I did 30 mins practice and ran on every set of tyres 3 laps each. Used the same setup throughout this test. The balanced default one and only change brake bias to 54 and diff to 65 on track from MFD not in the pits. First lap on Hards in practice felt like track was green and not rubbered in as in real life but halfway round the lap the FFB gave the impression that the tyres had switched on. FFB felt good. First lap with mediums FFB was good a little stronger and same with soft, a little stronger than mediums. I put this down to FFB giving impression of difference between compounds. Did one shot qually on softs. FFB was strong, stronger than practice. Started a 5 lap race, FFB wasn't as strong as qually but halfway round the first lap it gave impression of tyres switching on again and then stabilised. During this I had a report code. I had to pause to take a phone call report code was shown VBXT-EKVX-PRAJ-HBEG. Set up unranked with multiplayer car and 5 laps. The FFB in this mode felt the same as offline I'd just done but was getting more detail of bumps and tracks effects, oh how I wish all online FFB felt like this. It felt really nice. Back to menu after 5 laps in ranked. Game options, settings, another report code there XHME-PBKX-KRAJ-HBEG. I always seem to have a report code in this screen no matter if I've races or going in straight from booking up. Left it a couple of hours and tried again. Booted up exactly same as I did on first go but this time I checked my FFB settings from the game options first. Another code TSAK-BBBV-BEBJ-HBEG. I carried on the test. Exactly same setup, one shot qually and 5 laps in gp mode. the FFB was mushy it was like it was being suppressed and felt like the issue were gettin online. Car was all over road. I paused the game and used a flashback, after the flashback the FFB kicked in but didn't feel as strong as test 1 earlier in day. Tried this in unranked with multiplayer car and the FFB felt the same mushy and not a lot of strength. Quit the game and rebooted, went straight in gp mode again and the FFB was back to being how it should and the same for unranked with multiplayer car. Out of curiousity I tried same test at Bahrain. The FFB felt better than my league race on Monday night there but not as strong as Silverstone. As the guys above have said Silverstone is a strong FFB track anyway but Bahrain was about 3 quarters compared to what silverstone is. Used exact same setup as Silverstone. Conclusions.... The FFB feels better for me using multiplayer car in unranked. But there is difference in strength between tracks. But better than the weak effect I've been getting using official 2019 cars. The car handles a lot better, turns better etc and my laps times are quicker using MP car on default setup rather than official cars and a custom setup. The custom setups feel fine offline and in TT. Feel awful for my league races. FFB wise. If anymore info you need or you need me to test anything else I'll be happy to. Really want to get to bottom of this as it's affecting my league racing. It's good to see a fix for the system menu issue. But I don't have to be in a race for that to happen. It happens for me in main menu aswell as racing. I have to accept a invite by going to system menu with pressing ps button and it makes the DOR change. I have to manually recalibrate wheel again to 2 flashes before heading out onto track once the lobby is running in qually. Will the fix cover that aswell as a general system menu glitch. Sorry it's a long post. Just wanted to pass over as much info as possible. Try Silverstone again then try Bahrain. I never use understeer on setting. It's always turned off. After doing this test the weak/suppressed FFB feels like you driving on track with it green not rubbered in on hardest set of tyres that never switch on. It's best way I can describe it.

I totally agree, we need the option to restrict camera views in Multiplayer and E-Sports should only be driven in Cockpit Cam, but i'd go a step further: "Helmet Cam" should be the target for maximum immersion / realism and the "Virtual Mirror" should also be introduced to the franchise. Both features are basically standardized in almost all other racing games already, so the fact that CM haven't done it yet is frustrating, especially as they could have made it available since 2015 which marked the start of the PS4 / XboxOne era, an era that had more than enough horsepower to run these ideas. Sadly, if we look at their trackrecord, "Copy & Paste" as well as pursposefully using tactics of "Omission" for features and gamemodes to resell the same idea they had already used in previous titles as "New and fresh Content" has been the "Modus Operandi" of CM over the past 10 years. F1 2019, the game that was supposedly in development for around 2 years, marking their most sophisticated entry in the F1 franchise and thus inciting major hype in the community who were hoping to get a cracker of game, came out to be another "Copy & Paste" product with the addition of F2 and the continuation of several legacy bugs and glitches, which calls for 1 word to describe the effort: Ridiculous. All in all, i wouldn't hope too much for a positive change.

Thanks for listening @PJTierney. I can end my Codemasters/Oculus boycott now. I'm not sure who at Codemasters and/or Oculus thought it would be good idea to restrict the Oculus SDK version to the Oculus store since the only people it hurt were customers of Oculus and Codemasters. I'm glad the issue has been resolved.

The Audi may apparently be the most powerful car in the game, but it also has the most sluggish handling in the class - it's heavy and front-engined which puts it at a disadvantage compared to the opposition

It will be the WRC version. Codies don't have the WRC license, so they replace "WRC" with "Rally" in the car name, as they have done for several other cars in the game.

I have a button assigned to look back to see a faster car coming especially if I'm blue flagged. Yes it's obviously fake but I'm not using it to go faster or block cars but to be courteous and get out of the way. I know there is another discussion re virtual rear mirrors being requested. Project cars has them. Iracing has them. Iracing puts it there so you have no excuse to mess up a faster drivers race. They punish every assist with time penalties and count the rear view as essential so I have no problem with it. Ironically whenever I watch the actual grand prix races on TV now everytime they switch to the tcam view I think UGH why can't we see an exciting helmet view. Not surprised so many people use it as it's exactly the same view they see on TV. I would not be at all surprised if a large portion of players actually believed that's the actual driver view. I don't mean to be offensive but "monkey see monkey do" right? Actually that does sound offensive I guess but there is no excuse to be ignorant with all the info we have at our fingertips these days.

So, I sold all the 20 or so cars, kept buying and selling cars to get rid of 1.4 million credits so I could start playing career from the beginning. Then I did that again when the kit cars were released along with a credit drop. Yeah yeah yeah you can and will argue it's not hard or doesn't take that long or not that big a deal, but it does leave a very bad taste in the mouth that I start with game-changing bonuses and need to use workaround to get rid of them. I noticed one PJTierney post on another thread saying the starting cars (that have free repairs and you can't sell them) are needed as safety nets, it reminded me of the fundamental problem with these deluxe bonuses: that a game-changing feature is thrown into the game without considering how it will affect the game, or if some players might prefer to play without it. Yes it's obviously done to make the DLC more attractive to some players but other aspects still need to be considered. Also imo these credit drops should not exist at all, and cars should not unlock automatically. I personally loathe microtransactions and paid shortcuts because to me paying money should not give gameplay advantages or unlock stuff you already have (DLC that adds new content is different ofc), and if you buy a fully priced game then you should not be asked to pay more money for stuff you already bought. Of course there are far, far worse examples than DR2.0, but when you look at Dirt Rally, Dirt 4 and then DR2.0 the trend is pretty clear and it's not good. It is enormously worrying seeing the notion that paying money equals game progression becoming more and more widely accepted, to the point where players don't even seem to question it anymore, and where developers don't even consider the possibility that maybe someone would like to play a game without unearned progression /rant

Yeah and probably somehow related to the fact, that when a car is marked in garage as "in use", information next to is messed up comparing to reality. In this particular case, I attended with my Focus01 to Monthly Challenge, which started by USA followed by SWEDEN and other countries. At time I was in the middle of Sweden event, in garage I've been informed that my Focus is used in "Community Challenge" in USA country. Initially I though the garage shows the first event of the challenge. But it seems challenge type is messed too. Considering community challenge, yes I was involved into this at the same time, but with Class A car... I have screenshots... But I'm not going to hurt your eyes, since those are made in VR, I'm providing a gallery for reference only: https://imgur.com/a/xAl12VK

I think guys you missing OP's point. Games have been invented to challenge a player. players usually buy games to be challenged, getting a reward in form of collecting game achievement as well as self-satisfaction (dopamine etc) . Lowering demands needed to achieve a game goal, lowers value of the reward. As simply as that. From this pov I also don't get, why dev is trying to make a game less challenging,l. Maybe they think this feature is awaited. It would be strange if majority of players prefers this way (lower reward from playing a game). It's against a game idea. It's like getting a fun from a win over go-carts driving F1. you are guys not serious saying that everything is OK just because there is an workaround, are you?

Did it really not occur to anyone at CM that some players might buy the game after launch? Did it really not occur to anyone at CM that some players might want to buy DLC solely for cars and tracks and not for extra money or unlocks? Okay you could buy DLCs individually but paying extra money to avoid deluxe bonuses seems a bit bass-ackwards. Maybe there should not be credit drops for deluxe players at all. Maybe there should not be instant unlocks at all. Maybe DLC cars should not unlock automatically in career. Maybe there should be a level playing field between deluxe and non-deluxe players. Maybe no one should have this neutered career that you start with extra money and unlocks. Maybe, in the very least, no one should have extra money and unlocks forced on them. You ever think of that?
  21. 1 point
Dude, I don't even know what to say to you. I prefer to play good games instead of skipping it, I prefer to progress through a good game by playing instead of buying or being gifted progression (let alone having progression forced on me), and I'm quite certain I'm not the only one at that. That you don't understand something that simple and obvious is strange enough, but that Codemasters don't is plenty enough reason for starting a thread or a few.

Hardly just an assumption when I personally know lots of players who do not share this "paying money equals game progession" mindset, and I have seen tons of posts of various forums with such opinions. Some of us have been playing video games long before microtransactions became a thing, back then games had cheat codes which certainly were not forced on players who did not want to use them. Others just prefer to play games instead of paying money to avoid playing them. What is your point? Deluxe should never have contained extra money or early unlocks in the first place, and DLC cars should not be unlocked automatically in career. Next time you play, change resolution, return to game, the change resolution again, repeat this 200 times. It's not hard to do is it? Oh yeah and there are credit drops coming, so more pointless jumping through hoops to do.
  23. 1 point
Why do I have to jump through hoops just to be able to play the same career as those who bought the standard edition? I don't get why I'm being punished for buying DLC. You guys at Codemasters do understand that lots of players are not interested in extra money or shortcuts because we'd rather play the game, progress and unlock stuff, right? That's what the career is for, freeplay is when you want to have everything unlocked from the start, unless I'm missing something. Stop forcing these bonuses on players. How about adding some kind of option to remove the bonuses and decline any future bonuses.

Yes requested many times without response already, but no harm in being the squeaky wheel to keep this issue on the front page! T-cam view = Mario kart view. Cockpit = Racer view F1 already has a Mario type game, can't recall the title right now, it doesn't need another!

Indeed. You are all dreamers. Think of all the requested features asked from several years (full manual pit stops for example) without taking into account the repetitive bugs and new ones introduced every year.
