Platform: Steam with OculusVR mode Headset: Oculus Rift CV1 PC Setup: intel core 17 6700k, 16gb ddr4@3000mhz, MSI GTX1080 Gaming X User type: Deluxe+Season3/4 Peripherals: Thrustmaster T300RS with T3PA pro pedals and 2xTH8A shifters. First impressions are so far very good, gameplay seems smooth with the new Oculus mode on Steam, spain runs far better than it did previously. The lagging around the buildings is noticably reduced, to the point it was barely noticable. Headset stutter is totally gone on Steam using the OculusVR mode. I even seem to be able to bump particles up to "high" now as well. I have yet to run with the performance monitor open, so have yet to monitor what the frame rates are doing. But on the surface, it looks good. I have run stages in Wales (at night with rain), Sweden, and Spain. I will do a full comparison once the Oculus store version has updated as well. There is some odd banding issues between colours in places though, its mainly noticable on night stages where the lights cause a drastic change from light to dark. Its a similar effect to if you loaded up a picture in Photoshop and used the "posterize" filter. Other issues I have noticed, Alt-Enter doesnt work in OculusVR mode, neither does Alt-Tab. This was annoying at first, as the game started up in fullscreen; which caused that tiny UI elements issue. Had to close the game down and change the file hardware_settings_config.xml to "windowed" and restart. There is a weird "wobble" in the HMD while sitting at the start line in the Oculus mode also, which is a little nausiating. But isnt an issue once in motion. Doesnt happen in the SteamVR version, but will check the Oculus Store version, once updated. One thing I hope is looked into however, is the corrolation between having "ground cover" turned on to any level, and the Shaders been set to high. For whatever reason, those two items do not work well together in VR. It causes the framerate to tank, and there really shouldnt be any reason for it. With shaders set to "low", the enviroment just looks horrid; but having "ground cover" turned off also removes certain details that add to the look. Obviously, as it currently stands, I pick "ground cover" to turn off; as the game really does look that bad when the shaders set to "low".

Hello everyone! Over the past few weeks you may have seen some community photos crop up on our social media pages. It’s great to see the world of DiRT through the eyes of the community and there’s some amazing action shots out there. We’d like to share even more of these moments with everyone and this is where we’d like you to get involved! In this thread share your favourite pics and screenshots from DiRT Rally 2.0; we’ll check in every so often and grab a few to post online 😊 Some guidelines: When viewing a Replay, it would be ideal if you turn off the watermarks and graphics that are usually on-screen. Let us know what platform you took the screenshot on. Unedited pics only! We want to show off the great visuals of DiRT Rally 2.0, not your skills with Adobe Lightroom 😉 By all means share edited pics in here too if you like, but please clearly state they were modified. Image resolution of 1920x1080 or greater would be ideal but the forum's max width of 1200px is also acceptable. Steam notes: Default/standard liveries only please. Livery mods are great but unofficial and unlicensed. Again, drop your pics in here regardless if you want to share, but clearly state if they’re using modded assets. We’re aware that various camera mods exist that people use with the Steam version. Images using those are fine however we don’t officially recommend the use of third-party mods, so add them at your own risk. Xbox notes: When you take a screenshot using Xbox’s Game DVR function and upload it to Xbox Live, sites using the Xbox API (including Xbox.com) can grab that image and display it on a web browser. GameDVR is an example. Grab your image from one of these sites and upload it here. PlayStation notes: PS4 users can directly export their images from their console via USB, which makes uploading to the forums a whole lot easier. Now show us what you got 😉 PS: While we’re talking about photos let’s address the M8-sized elephant in the room, Photo Mode. We’re aware that this is a highly-requested feature amongst the community, and it would certainly be great to have it in DiRT Rally 2.0. As it stands Photo Mode is something the team have discussed however it is not the highest item on our priority list right now. We’re not ruling it out entirely, but unlike some of the cool things we do have lined up (which you'll hear about in due course) it is not “just around the corner”.

Ive done more testing since my last post between each VR version of the game. Quoting my last post, as what I said is still relevent to the steam version running with the Oculus SDK. To start off, a little amendment. The steam version with the OculusSDK still drops frames on spain, but like with the Oculus Store version. It just isnt anywhere near as noticable. Especially when ASW is turned on. Running with out ASW however, shows the FPS still drops a significant amount. Though not anywhere much as the SteamVR version does. I will be monitoring other rallys as well, just incase I spot any other FPS drops. The Steam version running with the Oculus SDK and the Oculus Store version seem to be running identically, far as I can tell. The performance figures are pretty much identical as well. The Oculus Store version STILL doesnt run with audio unless loaded up through steam. This needs fixing asap, and it also need passing around to others who own the game through the Oculus Store that there is a work around in the mean time. The steamVR version still runs really bad though. Hopefully now the OculusSDK is out on the steam version, there can be some effort on optimisation in order to improve the performance. There are clear issues somewhere in regards to the enviroments, especially on spain. There are frame drops that happen in some really odd places, and they happen regardless of graphical settings. As you can see in my new video, SteamVR performance headroom is much lower than the OculusSDK and Oculus Store versions. CPU and GPU ultilisation is still ridiculously low, and might be adding to the issues. (monitored through MSI Afterburner). On top of this, there is still that annoying USB polling issue. This is another issues that needs resolving, as it also adds to the decreases in performance. The drops to 87.2fps in each version are because of the USB issue. If I remove my TH8A shifters, as mentioned last time; the issue goes away fully. You have a user on the forums that knows how to solve this issue, you really need to check out their fix, and implement it on the Steam and Oculus store versions as an update as standard. The SteamVR version, again, is the worst effected by this issue. I did my video on Spain again, same stage as last time. The FPS drops around the buildings, happen on any stage on Spain were buildings are present.

People have been shouting classic tracks for ages and no further forward.

As a new F1 series customer, but experienced sim-racer, I find this encouraging. There's been lots of negativity directed at CodeMasters in this forum for ignoring issues with F1 2019. I hope this is an indication that CM is willing to address any issues that are specifically defined. I'll admit, I'm still very green when it comes to the game, and therefore don't venture online much. Other games ((PCars 2, Assetto, Gt Sport) I play are pretty much exclusively online, but I just don't have the track knowledge to safely race side by side in F1 yet. This is probably why I haven't encountered the frustrating FFB issues others have, but believe me, I can understand how frustrating muted FFB can be. It renders a game unplayable. So thank you to the community for testing and giving specific, detailed information to the devs. And thank you to @Hoo for listening, relaying the information, and updating the community. For what it's worth, I'm pleased to have purchased F1 2019. I've considered F1 games for several years, and finally pulled the trigger this year. It's a very fun, challenging, and immersive game. Hope this issue gets resolved as I intend on delving into the online aspect once I've completed a full season and learned every track well. Thanks again to all that are helping in a constructive way!

Thanks to everyone that has been helping out with this issue! 🙂 The description pointed out by @YesItsReallyMe identified an issue with the menu screens that appears to be causing the FFB settings to go wrong in some situations. We don't have a fix yet, but were able to follow their steps and replicate the issue here for the first time! We are now doing further tests in the area to help track down what is going on. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to replicate any other issues - we've done comparisons with different versions of the game across GP and online game modes using the Mercedes and have yet to find any differences. @senna94f1 - are you able to confirm what game mode and tracks you were using in your test and then we'll try that out here?

A couple of shots from the Group B RWD daily today. Love this 037 and Germany. At the time I finished the stage I was 4th Xbox time and 20th cross platform with a 6:17.613 despite a spin at the right handed after the chicanes. Taken on Xbox One X.
