  1. The fog sucks. And I don't mean the John Carpenter movie. Like someone said, it's not even real fog, ie pooling in low areas or with any kind of real-life fog quality. It's looks just a gaming fog, like old games covering up a feeble draw-distance.

  2. I mentioned the exact same thing when I left a comment on XBox store a few days ago. What I have noticed is that on X1X the game suffers from some real bad lod issues whereby you can clearly see a 'wall of light' drawing onto trees on the near horizon as you're driving so, as Jake says, with Finland having an absolute shed load of trees the easy option would be to fog up the horizon old skool style to make any issues less obvious. I'm not saying this hazy fog thing always looks poor (with the sun on the side of the car it looks quite nice) but with all the extra lighting stuff that's already e

  3. It must be bug then or you exaggerating. I'm using Vive and I can say it's far away from being unplayable. In fact I wasn't noticing the fog till you guys raised the issue.

  5. So i was already less than impressed by the behaviours of all 3 drivers after the race. However, that clip could be read two ways. 1) Grabbing his wrist and saying something to him, could have been disparaging etc. Might explain why his brother pushed him away, it sort of appeared like he was holding him down. 2) He was trying to congratulate him and tried to say as such, a loud moment for sure, but it's odd Kevin blanked him and shoved him out the way. It's tough to read for sure, it looks weird to grab the wrist as he's standing up to just give congrats. But o

  6. Listen, I don't mean this as an insult. Just some minor observation. You tend to downplay some "issues" people are having with this game. Like me and Bogani said that at least some RWD cars doesn't handle in Sweden as they should, because of poor lateral grip of those studded tires. We both had 1st hand experience about studded rally tires on snow and ice and we both have actual racing experience also. Still you told us how it works and that the game is fine, because it doesn't bother you. Same thing is happening here IMO. And I really don't mean no harm with this or as an ins

  7. Fact is that a video with @EvansR5 driving the garbage out of that car was published along with the shiny promotional pics. So, it's not like Codies have applied some shady tactics promoting Potemkin villages as you're insinuating all the time. The graphics were the same as those we have now. Not sure why you're surprised. Oh, and the one who's whining all the time about an 'issue' that I didn't even notice, is you. Weather options is another story, there you actually would have a point but instead you drive that exaggerated drama train.

  9. Why are you trying to defend this? There is fog all the time, those pictures are just like a different game.

  10. Too bad my friend lost a video of me and my friend beating our cars at ice track. I used to daily drive my 80's Oldsmobile and sliding around the corners with it was fun af. As it is an automatic and I don't like to use the e-brake on those cars the only way to get it to a massive slide was a scandi flick. It looks so majestic when +5m long american land yacht performs scandinavian flick. These was the cars we drove on the ice track. The black one is mine. I might have driven my cars like I stole them even before that.

  12. In other news, the current Dailies allow non-DLC owners to try Finland in a H2 RWD vehicle. Needless to say, the achievement "Finnesse: roll your car over and continue in Finland" was achieved within the first shakedown run

  14. The speeds are most definitely exagerated, always have been in Codies games. It's obviously done for the thrill but it does make it feel a little arcadey. The real problem is that there is simply not enough damage to discourage driving like an idiot. The huge jumps in Finland would totally destroy the suspension if taken at the speeds the game allows. Hardcore Damage needs to be much more severe. Also the tyre wear needs to be increased dramatically. Otherwise it's a fantastic game.

  15. If this is some cheap attempt at flattery by codies to try get me to return to the forums.. .. Well I guess it worked. Well played. That being said, if the squirroo turns out to be a lie .. I may just have to start collecting nuts- and they will be the variety that will be sorely missed.

  16. Another Finn reporting in. I too hope the fog gets removed from Finland. I find it VERY distracting. I am an Oculus CV1 user and in the headset it actually makes seeing at any distance very hard. It's on the verge of making the Finnish rally unplayable.

  17. Well the score is even more clear than last time. And it isnt a hard limit. Nobody is 'not' able to use cockpit, even though its untrained. Much less of a limit than dlc content. And forcing the View is just a very nice way to make it fair. You can judge the car width much better from hood or from third so its a slight advantage and takes away from the experience to emulate real rally experiences. I am setting up the new season to start on saturday noon. Get ready in time and select your favorite R5. Remember not to change the vehicle mid season. Good Luck for every

  18. Timmy Hansen has already shown great competencies to be pushy. Remember the last turn with Ekstrom at Holjes in 2015. The fact that the incident investigation has been asked by Kevin Hansen, shows me how unfair the Hansen's are. But, again, that's a question of point of view and this story proves again how Rallycross is a beautiful and crazy sport*. *And Andrew Coley makes the Rallycross even better that he already is.

  19. yeah, but that's because you only see the fastest time each top player can do, so it'll be with the fastest car in the class. they can generally do times that are within a couple of seconds of their best time with slower vehicles in the class. for example, GTR Technical's best time in El Rodeo in NR4 is 2:16.820, which is 3rd overall, with the Evo X (obviously). his best time on the same route with the STi? 2:18.740, which would be 9th. you can go through his setup videos of slower cars in each class in every location, and he shows you the difference between his best time in that car and

  22. No, the main problem is that you start attacking people who disagree with you and that you don't seem to understand that promo pics always look better. Anyway, I suggest you open a thread where you can bring this up one more time, quite a few people will love it, I promise. The massive fog is terrible, we're all doomed!

  23. There's a difference between defending and rejecting your dramatizing descriptions. It's not all the time as misty as those selective pictures, that's why I posted a pic that shows no misty areas, and I have a few more if it's not enough. -------------- Yes, the promotion pics are more colourful, clearer and show a different time of day somehow. @HoksuHoo As I said, you can't blame them. Promotion pics always look better, even on frozen pizzas. Absolutely over-dramatizing for what? For likes and lolz? Up to the point that you start attacking other people because in their mind it's no

  25. Ok but it isn't really fog what we have in the game, is it? It's more like a layer of mist in the air. Did you notice it immediately? I honestly didn't. I first thought people were talking about dailies where it was exaggerated with zero visibility. As I said above, not all spots look as misty as the screenshot HoksuHoo took. It depends on distance and visibility. You can't look that far in the distance on the promotion screenshot, that's why there's no such effect, just as in this screenshot --> I'm all for constructive criticism and if people have a point it's totally le

  26. No, it's not strange at all. If a driver gets an advantage out of an incident is a key factor.

  27. As I said above, having mist in the air in areas with lots of lakes and rivers is absolutely normal. It really isn't that bad at all in my view, I didn't even notice until you kept posting the same thing again and again. There are areas where there's no mist in the air in the game, so your 'promotion screenshot argument' is not valid, but it gets you a lot of likes, doesn't it? ^^

  29. As much as I try to steer clear of conspiracy theories, this isn't the first questionable stewards decision made at South Africa: the disqualification of Block at Killarney in 2017 was very questionable and, at the time, many said it was purely to put another Peugeot into the final. RX Cartel I am not so sure about. From what I gather they are going to have to work hard to secure a budget for next year.

  30. I don't entirely agree with you, but I would be surprised if there is any change now. Yes Andreas was wide, but the gap wasn't big enough for Timmy to pass cleanly and, if Timmy had got past at that point it would have been "push to pass" and, exactly as it was for Kevin/Niclas at Abu Dhabi, the result would be corrected. The crucial element was that Andreas was forced onto the barrier by the contact with Timmy and slowed enough to allow Niclas through. If Bakkerud had retained the lead then he would have had enough points to win... ...but, as said in my first line, I seriously dou

  31. Well as you've asked @JZStudios, I'll tell you... My dislike for Neil Cole started over a decade ago when Dave (that's a TV channel we have here in the UK) started showing coverage of the WRC. The coverage of the WRC was hosted by two presenters, one of whom was Neil Cole. At that time I found his presenting style stilted and he didn't seem to have any real understanding - or passion - for what he was commenting on. I found it rather frustrating that, when they were many better rally presenters available in the UK, they were using him.. ...fast forward a decade and he continues to ge

  32. Illegal car? Bonkers! I celebrated when Timmy stuffed it into the wall, then got sad when I worked out the numbers as Timo retired. With four wins I'd say Timmy has earned the Championship, but I still am yet to warm to him as a driver. Gutted for Bakkerud, a whole season and it is decided on countback. The real champion though? Niclas Gronholm: damn his appendix!

  33. That is a nice looking promotional shot. Imagine what a disappointment it would be if the actual game looked like this

  34. The Q session are finished. It looks like it is heading the way of the Hansen brothers. Still anything can happen (I believe Bakkerud has still new sets of tyres, but they (Hansens) just seem to have a speed advantage over Bakkerud unfortunately. I think Bakkerud/EKS have created this themselves also a little bit with more technical issues compared to Hansen team (which might be a budget thing) but also with mistakes in Abu Dhabi, Hell and Loheác. Class act so far also from Gronholm. Just showing he would probably have been champion (and might confince Hyundai/Loeb to enter a third car).

  38. I think the speeds are fairly realistic. It's just us playing a video game and pushing a lot without fear of consequences. Sometimes I'm quite surprised when I send my car deep into outer space and the game tells me that I just hit a rock or a tree at 180kph, but that's actually what happens in real life. Rally drivers are nuts, pushing 160, 180 and sometimes 200kph on narrow roads. It's insane. What happens in reality is often a lot faster, more dangerous and insane than what we think should be implemented and represented somehow in games.

  40. A combination of everything I guess. You can abuse the physics/grip somewhat, don't need to care about damage, and if you add inch by inch stage knowledge and hundreds of retries, the one "perfect" run that eventually get uploaded to Youtube will look silly as ****. As a mere mortal I approach the game in another way. I don't practice each stage to perfection and I try to drive the cars as I would have IRL. That said, I wouldnt be able to match the WR chasers even if I tried so..
