2 pointsyour statement in red above is very problematic: do you really think modders have made ACAT mods for those games and the devs have implemented them? because no, of course they haven't. also, talking about the Dirt series in general, including DR2 of course: licencing (for movies, video games, music, whatever) is extremely complicated. for car games, different devs have different licensing agreements with manufacturers. think about the basically nonexistent damage models in Gran Turismo or Forza: that is because many of the manufacturers don't want their cars to be seen broken. the Dirt series is pretty damn good by comparison. every single one of the games you mentioned except for PC2 is a circuit/road racing game. if CM thought they could do any car-any track legally, they probably would have. but as you have pointed out, people have had to use mods to do this in the series since at least Dirt 3 which came out 8.5 years ago, so this is nothing new. meanwhile, as a rally game, the Dirt series is the direct competitor to the official WRC games, so manufacturers need to be be careful about where and how their cars are shown. most of the manufacturers in the game have (or used to have) relations with the WRC. note that 2 of the 4 current WRC manufacturers are not in DR2 at all. also keep in mind that DR2, DR1 and D4 are the official games of the World RX Championship, and that means CM are not only dealing with manufacturers, but also the World RX Championship itself, which adds another layer of complexity. those last two points are things that PC2 does not have to deal with, because they've just got a few RX car models and tracks. but no, you just want to ignore all this and call CM stupid.

2 pointsObscure reason: The lawyers confirm that the contracts signed with all of the teams/manufacturers/parties involved also included where and how the likenesses will be used. Deviating from that agreement invalidates the rights of CM to use the likeness. Don't take this as official since I'm just a random guy who sits on these forums/reddit/discord too much, but I think it's the obvious reason why...

2 pointsWhat do you mean by "authorize"? Like will they ban you? I don't think so, unless you are using it to break the current online events. I've seen a few MP lobbies already up with RX cars in Wales so it's definitely not being immediately auto-banned by the system. Whether it flags the profile for review later or something else is out of my domain though so you'll have to wait for @PJTierney to chime in on that one or one of the other mods around around. Now if you're asking if they will "officially sanction" and/or support it, that is a very quick and easy NO.

1 pointDownloading the language stuff is handled by Steam, so if the files do not exist, they haven't either picked the right language, or steam has forgotten to install them 😕 For example here is what my audio/2019/speech folder looks like. This is because I've selected the Japanese localization through Steam, so Steam downloaded the additional Japanese localization files. The game should then automatically switch to Japanese speech, but it seems that in this report's case, it hasn't happened. My workaround should work in those cases where the folder does look like this, but you just don't get the right speech files in-game.

1 pointWell given Codies and SMS seem to have such wildly differing ideas on exactly what features FFB should have, as alluded to above, I just wonder IF it will ever happen. Additionally, we need rumble though the wheel to compensate for the fact that we don't have feel in the seat of our pants as we would in a real car. Just drove a gravel stage yesterday... much better. We just need about 25 percent of that canned rumble on tarmac and snow and I'll be happy.

1 pointHonestly, at this point, I'd be very disappointed in all of the pro teams if they weren't running each stages dozens if not hundreds of times before each weekend. We have the technology to get paths into a game pretty accurately and very quickly. Adding the fluff like trees and stuff takes time, but getting a general path that follows a rough outline of elevation into something like RBR wouldn't be to terribly hard. It's not perfect, but it'll be a HUGE advantage for drivers to get a quick idea of how the stage will be once they arrive and some of the key corner combos to watch for. I mean, how much would it cost to employ a lone dev/modder who is experienced with RBR to quick-mod new stages into the game for them to practice on. Compared to the rest of a pro team's budget, I would think it'd be pennies... Keep the dev on through the offseason to continue cleaning up/developing the practice stages and you could craft a massive backlog of 90% of the possible stages very quickly.

1 pointAlthough Codemasters have been positive about the modding community in the past (Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising and GRID 2), I doubt they would officially say anything, as it'd be too big of a hassle. Obviously I could be 100% wrong.
-
1 pointTrue, but also we are not driving the stage a couple of times a year, we're driving it hundreds of times. And we don't have a ton of absolutely random elements that can affect a stage - surface wear and weather are a good start, but they're nowhere close to reality. Random stages are not a secret technology, we had them at least since PS1. Obviously they need a lot more work to bring them to 2020s standards, but they're absolutely essential to making Dirt Rally 3.0 NOT rely on comically large amounts of DLC updates to keep the game fresh. Since Codies don't even have a licence for these stages, they're prime candidates for using innovation as a selling point.

1 pointJust look at my screeshots. 6K career race and not even 500 credits for the exact same event in freeplay. Thats insane. No one will drive 10-15 times more races to get to the same amount of credits as you get in the career. Thats way too less credits in free play mode and way too much grind. It feels like a punishment for using free play mode if you ask me.

1 pointIn singleplayer rallycross qualifying there is often a really severe inconsistency between the AI drivers you race against and the randomized times from the other qualifiers. I beat the AI drivers in my heat only to finish 16th because somehow the random AI times are 10-20 seconds faster than the AI drivers I race against, when they should be around the same level. This can happen on any RX track Here the fastest AI driver is 2:48 while the randomized times are 2:30, which is world record pace on every lap despite this being only elite level. Shows how terribly off the randomized times are What platform you're playing on (for PC also state Steam, Microsoft or Oculus): Steam What your PC setup/build is like (graphics card, processor etc.): 1230v3, GTX 1070, 16gb ram, SSD, Windows 10, SB Z If you're playing on PC, state whether you're in 2D or VR: 2D. 2560x1440 resolution Whether or not you have any non-standard peripherals connected, like steering wheels, gaming mice etc: Logitech G920 steering wheel+shifter

1 pointHad a bit of a weird one doing the AI Monthly last night. I'd done 2 stages on Tuesday and was 25 seconds up on 2nd with about 7 mins of driving done. When I continued last night i finished about 7th on SS3 with a time of 4.20 but when I went to the overall time screen it had me in 7th overall with a time of 44m 20s. It looked like it had taken the SS3 times and added about 40 mins on to everyone's stage time to get the overall time thus completely deleting the actual times for SS1 and SS2.... It didn't make much difference as I won the event anyway but I would hate for this to happen to someone who has completed all but 1 stage and then it resets it all when they come to do the last stage!!

1 pointThe game has the current full grid of GTE (except for the BMW) and couple of DPi... And the AI handles very well overtaking slow cars. Can't comprehend why multiclass is not a thing in GRID. It could be so much fun...

1 pointHi everyone, Update on this one: After some live testing internally and with the assistance of @1512marcel, we now have a proposed solution in its final stages. Pending confirmation and successful final tests, we are hoping to release this in our next major patch. Thanks for your patience, help and feedback on this issue.

1 pointI'm not a fan of the constant fog either, but why do people have to exaggerate so much? As if this event wasn't playable. Better a Finland with fog than no Finland at all.

1 pointHi everyone, first post on these forums. I'd like to say that I've been enjoying Grid 2019 quite a bit, but having stepped in from Grid 2 and never playing Grid Autosport, I feel a severe lack of impact on the world you race in. What happened devs? Why was the decision made that no one is called out by name anymore? In interviews you guys were so happy to tell everyone that you guys made a bunch of AI all named with specific aggression stats and such, so why not have them in voice lines? To add to that, why did the nickname system have to be removed?! OMG, I felt so happy being able to choose my own nickname, and then being called out by that name made my experience just that much more immersive, but no, you're nameless now... Also, my point of no impact goes further, smashing someone into a wall and getting them as a nemesis only for the next race to be best of friends again feels like I'm pressing a reset button on every race... The impact point also sticks for damage, please add in a legacy damage setting, and just get that absurd Grid 2 damage system where just a slight bump would make your car constantly veer right or left would make this game be more in line of what the other games before it did, that chaos, that destructive power is all gone in this game. I changed one of the call out options on my controller to be the announcement of damage to my car, but when I pinball from 1 wall to the other I still get the answer "No new damage to report". Then lastly, get local co-op in, me and my bud have been destroying each others cars and racing untill the death in Grid 2, but that feature has to wait a while then I guess. What I do have to give this game credit for is its chipping damage model, seeing those cars lose all its paint when you rub it against a different driver feels nice. The cockpit cam is really fun, makes me feel like I'm driving. And lastly, the weather effects look very nice. What I would like to recommend you guys add/ bring back to the game: 1. That legacy damage setting I previously mentioned. 2. Bring back the normal street cars that Grid 2 had, those were fun. 3. Add a new tier of cars which just break speed limits, like the one koenigsegg car from Grid 2 that had the ability to go 430 km/ph which could only be achieved on the oval track which was DLC. 4. Add more map variety, I love the amount of small differences you guys added in layout, but I personally think different scenery would be more fun to drive through than different layouts. 5. (Optional), Add really over the top custom lobby settings, I think that would create a game like no other, image the following: popped tires mode, so all cars are slidding on metal wheel frames, or monster truck mode, where cars have huge wheels, or 6th gear only mode, where every car is stuck in 6th gear so takes like 3 minutes to get to 100 km/ph, or what I think would be hillarious is all tiers allowed mode, where you could drive the fastest of the fastest GP cars against the slower but more steerable tuner cars or something. TLDR: Grid 2019 is proving to be a nice game, but my god, I think it has lost some of its chaotic energy from its ancestors and should definitely try to get that back for it to be a strong game in the market.

1 pointHave a little faith. The solution is lined up (what @BarryBL) told us a while ago. There are some technical issues that need to be solved. My personal opinion is that we will see it happen. I’m pretty confident about that. But, once again my personal opinion, not based on other knowledge.

1 pointThere is another issue with the other board that I've PMed about. In previous fixes, I would recommend removing iCue and I never used G_HUB with Logitech peripherals I owned so I have no direct ability to test (I always used updated LGS and I use SetPoint to update my keyboard and then uninstall it). However, the software is providing a cooling function on your board and you advise it can't be removed. My initial advice was to remove it. Only CM know if there is any progress being made on this, there are no accurate patch notes and the decision to roll out what they are calling a hotfix as a mandated patch is a very poor one. There was the beta branch option available so if they had chosen that, you could both provide direct feedback as to whether the 1.18.1 patch is the cause of your issue. Due to their typical communications issues, I'm afraid I'm all you have and I'm not affiliated to CM in any way, but I do have a track record of solving issues on the forum for more than a few users.

1 pointGrid 2019 is not bad, it also has a lot of potential, but it lacks too much if you look at the old parts. It's also sad that there are not more people in multiplayer. It can only get better, hopefully 🙂

1 point@ChrisGrovesMCM I honestly am appalled at the lack of attention to this issue. Tell us if it was intentional or a mistake.

1 pointoThe last thing I would like to see is the F1 2010 pit crew system If you keep the speed at 61mph this would happen by driving too fast like an idiot Drive too slow and the pitstop would cost you 12 seconds or more. To your pitstop time. This to me added more depth and an art to the game. The trick codemasters was teaching was too get the perfect pitstop. This was achieved by driving with skill between 30-60mph hence the achievement well drilled which I got on the first day of playing F1 2010. These things really I'd love to see return for F1 2020 too me it's overdue

1 pointIt's appalling that codemasters refuse to fix the tracks in a officially licenced F1 game. But credit is due where credit is deserved, at least they finally fixed the French Pitlane at Paul Ricard after 2 years. Still... ...Germany, start/finish straight DRS Zone has been removed irl, in the game it still exists. ...Singapore, Bridge straight after the slow left handed hairpin got a new DRS Zone irl, in the game it does not exist. ...Japan, Suzuka Bump at the last fast right handed corner before the main start/finish straight next to the pit entry has no effect on modern F1 cars irl as they take it flatout, in the game they exaggerated that bump to the point that you can't take the natural racing line over the bump flatout and if you do, you spin. ...Mexico, new DRS Zone was added after Turn 7-11 right before the stadium section, in the game it does not exist. 0 pointsSadly one person lost their life in a fire that started on Friday, several firefighters have also been injured and my thoughts are with them. Lucky for me the fire was in a different region to where I live, so I'm all good. Sad news the week before Christmas.😢

0 pointsTry Real Racing 3! They have a new F1 format and with careful use of their racing credits (using the daily race with the basic car on loan) you can climb up the tiers without spending cash. The racing is brilliant!! So far they have five circuits with Abu Dhabi currently, but it's light years ahead of Codies circuit. The racing is "real racing" without AI killer cars, you can break late, cut inside an opponent and not get a penalty for cutting the corner slightly. I'm declaring a mutiny!!! Abandon F1 Mobile. Show them we've had enough and that another team has a better F1 game.
