this is just a simple UI thing, but it needs clarification, in my opinion. basically, the staff upgrade for your Co-Driver (Phil Mills in English version) allows you to send your car to the next service station in the event after you get terminal damage. an example of the screen is below. for me, there are a few problems with it: the phrasing of the question (especially using the word "return") gives the impression you'll be sent back to the service area before the stage you just broke your car on, allowing you to try the same stage again. it needs to be made clear that selecting "Yes" will give you a DNF for this stage, as well as all remaining stages before the next service station - and this action cannot be undone. it also needs to be made clear that selecting "No" will send you to the end of stage menu, where you can either Restart the stage (if possible) or Retire to the end of th Event (as well as see the Replay, Quit to Main Menu, etc) and in case you were wondering, yes, I'm just a bit salty because I've known how this screen works for at least 6 months, but selected Yes by accident because the instructions were unclear and thus I basically ruined a whole championship for myself in career mode.

things like animals running across the road (and birds fly over sometimes), opponents' broken cars, drones, etc are called "Unexpected Moments" in the English version of the game. you can only turn them on or off in Custom Championships (and probably Clubs, if you run the Club.) CM is able to modify their frequency: for about 2 months last spring they almost never occurred, and then someone at CM finally fixed it so they came back. there was a whole thread in which players were asking where they had gone: https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/36029-the-unexpected-moments-stopped/?tab=comments#comment-412237 I like them but I wish they were more frequent 🙂

We have spent a lot of time on here complaining about a lot of things in this game. I have be guilty of it, and I will probably complain about something in the future. However, I want the thank Codemaster support. I raced all season with one goal; be in the Gold Tier at the end of the 2019 Championship Event. I did it. BUT.... When I went to open my phone last night to collect my reward, it glitched and restarted (as usual) and lost my rewards. I sent several not kind messages to the support team. I got more mad every time I raced someone with the black and silver car last night. But lo and behold, I woke up this morning and they had restored my rewards. I even got to open them the proper way. Thank you Codemaster Support for promptly responding to my issue and solving it so fast. This really is a great game. I spend way too much time on it, and I probably will in 2020. See all of you next year! and if you wreck into me, I will come for you lol. Happy New Year!!!!

What controls / triggers the broken car in the different stages? Is it the computer that decides when or else when the broken car gets put into the game ?? The same goes for animals… Seems when the CM is coming up with a new rally stage, so in the beginning there will be many and gradually it will be smaller, Helicopters were often there just when Finland came to DR 2.0 Now you never see them! Can't make so the frequency can be changed? And people who don't want it can just turn it off.

It has really upset me as someone new to F1. I go to watch a clip at night on youtube or twitch and all I see everywhere is T-cam and corner racing lines 🙁 Like I get it, if you want to be the "best" most people need all of those turned on, but where is the fun? Where is the satisfaction? I can't even find the full satisfaction in racing with less than 100% duration, I couldn't even dream of using t-cam (on my gt1 evo rig) and a racing line or assists... It'd be like saying you bowled a 250 with bumpers...

At the end of the day we all knew exactly what content we were getting from Grid and we were all made aware of potential visual issues so I don't really understand why you should want a refund... Or moreso, considering the lifespan of this game i'm not 100% sure why you bought a digital copy when there was the cheaper and resellable physical copy option for those who were unsure of the game's integrity. It was painfully obvious that Grid wasn't worth £55 and with the DX edition being an out and out insult to consumers it would have been highly doubtful that, even if season 1 would have been free, anyone would have paid more than they needed to in order to own the game. I didn't particularly want to pay £27 for it (but I figured that was as low as it was going so I bought it) and judging by the game's initial sales I wasn't the only one who had the same way of thinking and I'd go as far as to say that i'm also not the only one who will never ever purchase that season pass regardless of price. For the equivalent £30 I can buy all of Wreckfest (with change)....or all of BF1 + BFV combined...or add £5 to buy Borderlands 3 or TSW 2020:CE. The smarter people don't buy just for the sake of buying any more (in today's economy games are too expensive and developers should be aware of that by now) and with that endless choice of much, much better options it just further emphasises why season passes of this nature represent such poor value for money. As for F1 2019, well after it's free weekend on XB1 I actually went out and bought it (my first ever F1 purchase) on disc so my opinion of the game probably differs from yours....but that's something to be discussed in a different part of the forum

It's a nightmare to play Grid online, please do something about it, at least enable ghost mode for those that choose to play without others brutally contacting and smashing everyone every chance they get !!!

Historic circuits like the old Hockenheim, Imola, Magny-Cours, Adelaide etc would be great!

Don't sweat it once you reach your plateau. Theres a good reason we call the best drivers who manage to get better times than us 'aliens' (without cheats or assists!). The more realistic you play the closer you get to emulating the real world sport which is dominated by the most skilled drivers in the world. Imagine being a Williams driver watching the whole pack disappear into the distance. Yet even their drivers are in a different league from the majority of us. Aim for a realistic goal in the race like real world drivers do. In a donkey car aim to finish anywhere but last. In McLaren aim for regular top ten finishes. In a Red Bull aim for a podium every time etc etc. 'Winning' is how YOU define it. Happy lapping!

Look how they attack corners. You will see that they go as far as possible to the left or right before steering in. That will help a lot with the “slow in-fast out”. You will also see that they take corners in a higher gear than you are used to. Look at the braking point and try to memorize that point. These are the first things you have to learn to get faster.

Spot on. The more you drive, the more you learn. And what’s consistency; being three seconds slower every lap is also consistency. Over time you will improve and that won’t take that long. Also, try to watch some movies from the hardcore YouTubers, you can learn a lot from them.

If you're racing online might as well use assists as most others do for consistency. If you're doing time trial turning assists off is a cool way to see how much faster you're getting. If you're doing career and intend to put plenty of time into the game for several months you will feel more achievement by turning assists off and noticing the gradual increasing of your abilities. If you plan to blast thru a season with short races might as well use assists for the fun factor. If you want to get more involved and do half or full length races you may find assists get pretty boring after a while as you never crash or make a mistake. Remember in real life most drivers don't have perfect races every time, it's part of the drama of the sport. With longer races I promise you will have much more fun if you relax, turn the ai down pretty low (so if you spin off you can still get back at least once during a race) and race with no assists. After the first season you will then turn racing line off for a further challenge (after a full length race you wont need it anymore! Theres no shame in playing the game how you want to, after all you paid for it! Maybe when you have a day off or a boring weekend ahead try a full length grand prix with all assists off. You can lap to your hearts content in practice learning the car and track and no amount of wrecks will stop you. Turn medium damage on to get more of a thrill or off at street circuits for less frustration! Don't do qualify until you feel confident in the car and your skills then go for qualifying using the full length real life sessions. It's very exciting just getting into q2 then maybe q1. Treat each car you pass or beat for a lap time as a victory in itself. Live the dream but have fun too!

Had a bit of a weird one doing the AI Monthly last night. I'd done 2 stages on Tuesday and was 25 seconds up on 2nd with about 7 mins of driving done. When I continued last night i finished about 7th on SS3 with a time of 4.20 but when I went to the overall time screen it had me in 7th overall with a time of 44m 20s. It looked like it had taken the SS3 times and added about 40 mins on to everyone's stage time to get the overall time thus completely deleting the actual times for SS1 and SS2.... It didn't make much difference as I won the event anyway but I would hate for this to happen to someone who has completed all but 1 stage and then it resets it all when they come to do the last stage!!

This bug occurred at least three times when I played Dirt Rally 2.0 in the PS4. The first time was playing with a Lancia Fulvia and again with a Subaru. The video I posted was when I played with the Subaru WRX STI. Below is the Youtube link
