Hey all, Thanks for the survey feedback. A big part of the feedback we received was to communicate what we are doing and more often. So, please see below for the latest high-priority developments for F1 2019 and what the Development Team is currently working on. Keyboard Binding Support (XBOX)- Thread- We have a proposed solution in final stages of testing. This is due to be released in the next patch coming in January 2020. Safety Car. We have some tweaks which are planned to improve the deployment behaviour which are currently in test and hope to release in a future patch. League Improvements. Thanks everyone for the feedback on the new 2019 leagues feature. We are continuing to make improvements to this and are hoping to have some updates released in a future patch (Hopefully the January 2020 patch upcoming). Wheel vs Pad Abilities- Thread- We are currently investigating statistics within leaderboards across all platforms to track data and any circumstances where one peripheral has an advantage over another. Our current findings are that, over the course of a race season, the difference is minimal. If you have any extreme scenarios (track, game mode, huge difference in timings etc) that you would like for us to gather data for, please add it to the appropriate thread. Logitech G29 Rotary Dial Mapping Issue. We have a proposed solution in test at the moment. Pending confirmation of these test results, we are hoping to release this in the next upcoming patch. Please continue to use the correct and appropriate forum threads to discuss, give constructive feedback and provide evidence where possible. It is always being monitored and appreciated. Once we can accurately re-produce an issue, we can start putting in place the fixes (where possible) to issues and improve the overall game experience For some topics, especially for some that create the most discussion with everyone, an update can take some time as more people from Codemasters will usually be involved. Once I do have a note-worthy update on things, I will keep everyone updated with anything else that is high on our agenda or any progress on the above.

I stopped playing when Season 4 started so it wouldn't be too good for me 😄 I hope in new rally stuff to start playing again.

HI @Far1an 20% difference after 6 laps does seem a little excessive. I'm just running a few tests now, so I'll get back to you on my findings.

Hi all, four weeks ago we had leagueracing in Silverstone and it seems we found a Bug concerning ERS-Recovery in difference between using ABS or not and the deploymentmode in Silverstone. Using same settings, Cars equal (me McLaren, him Ferrari), hard tires, ERS and Fuel mode...my friend using ABS and a pad constantly lost less ERS than me (or recovered more?) After 1. Lap (86% to 95%) --> 2. Lap: (81% vs. 89%) Gap Remains at about 8% to 12% afterwards. Secondly the ERS-Mode medium has to be redone in Silverstone. It is NOT possible to end a lap with the same amount of energy. The lossrate overall is about 8% a lap. When we raced the 100% round there, it was a mess of recharging, recharging and recharing ERS throughout the whole race. A short description of the problem: Driving behind another (3 sec gap) with full of fuel. Cars on equal, drove ERS medium and fuel standard, hard tires. ERS overall after the firstlap: Me: 86%, Friend: 95%, next lap: Me: 81%, him 89%. Afters those laps the difference in ERS Load overalle remain between 8% and 12%. Why is that so? We changed position and redone the stint. Same outcoming. It got even worse for me on the medium tire --> after 7 Laps --> Me: 26% ERS, Friend: 45% --> Again all settings identical, ERS medium, Fuel standard. --> So the question: Can it be that when using ABS (and PAD?) and slamming the breakes a car recovers more ERS, than using no ABS (and a wheel?) Platform you’re on (PS4, Xbox One, PC, Steam): both Steam (PC) Game Version (Shown on the Start screen in the bottom left hand corner): 1.18.1 Game Mode, including if it was Single Player or Multiplayer (Time Trial, Career, Grand Prix, Custom Game etc): Custom lobby - FP 90:00 minutes If in Multiplayer, how many players and how many AI?: 3 Players, no AI What happened in the lead up to the problem?: If you get an error message, the exact wording of the error message you're receiving: negativ Any accessories you are using (wheel, pad, etc): Me: Using T300 + T3PA Pro Wheel, Friend: PAD If you have any videos or screenshots, please share them. If the video is long, please include a timestamp for when the issue appears: Didn´t took images. @Bojan@SilentPain92@wh15

    - Able to save up to 3 events (similar to how Project Cars 2 did it) so you can quickly run your favorite ones, without having to remember all the settings each time. - Able to set Track and Route to <random> for each of the rounds in the event (if Track is set to random, Route will be disabled as a setting) - Able to set Time of Day to <random> instead of having to always choose a specific time of day. These few tweaks would improve my enjoyment of the singleplayer racing in Grid quite a lot. Being able to quickly jump into Free Play, without having to setup the event each time would be a nice quality of life improvement. The extra random settings are nice for when you want that extra variation race to race, without having to specify each track specifically. Thanks for listening

So I bought the game for 18 quid in the end and I have had a crack around australia for 90 mins and despite coming from the worst car in the 18 game the 19 renault felt like it was on ice never had some much trouble handling an F1 car in codies games. Graphics are beefed up abit fair enough but Im just under the 2hour mark so might return it and jusy wait for this years attempt as the feeling out of the box was disapointment rather than optimism! Also got assetto corsa for 3 quid 😆

Hi Sloppysmusic, as ever it's good to hear what you have to say. To clarify my position, I don't own the 19 game, and given its state I doubt I will ever bother to buy. I have had all the previous games in the series, which from 16 onwards, have been second hand copies purchased after all patches were released. I personally can't fund such a poor game, and don't get me started on microtransactions, although I guess I should be glad some folk buy in! Maybe the move into microtransactions can fund improvements to the core game. Likwise the acquisition of SMS I hope can improve the physics and car tuning. My fear is SMS and Project Cars 3 will be dragged down to codemasters level. Consequently my continued presence on the forum is to ascess the communities opinion of the game and codemasters response to bugs and issues. With that in mind I have no expectations beyond hoping that the quality of the game shows some drastic improvement. I also hope codemasters attitude to, and communication with its customers also improves. As an avid gamer and F1 fan I would sincerely love to see this series reach its potential, however given the trajectory in recent years this hope is just a glimmer I'm afraid to say. It seems my desire for a decent F1 simulation (if the game can at all be classed as simulation) will not be satisfied by codemasters.

There's actually quite a few games that offers a discount for owners of previous editions. There's a reason why this is an actual option on Steam, the biggest/most known game that have done/does this is the Football Manager series. IIRC it was 10/15% off if you had the previous edition. Again, S3+4 is in a bundle with DR2.0 and the Deluxe Upgrade and thus get a bundle-discount. For the Deluxe Edition (not upgrade) owners, it doesn't register as owning the Deluxe in that bundle, thus we have no other choice than buying S3+4 for full price, which people that doesn't own the game, or never bought S1+2/Deluxe Upgrade actually gets. It's not that we that bought in to the game and promise from the start don't get a price advantage that's the problem, it's the fact that we get a price disadvantage on the same product. How anyone can look at that and think that it is fine, I'm not able to understand.

First of all, happy new year! The previous problems I had with framerate and resolution drops on certain tracks seem to be resolved, either by a game update or an update of Stadia at the end of 2019. However there is a new strange behavior when the game engine or stream seem to be pushed too hard... The game audio starts to skip and stutter. This can happen when there is a crash in front of you or on tracks that have had the above mentioned visual problems before. The gameplay and the visual return remain completely stable in these situations though and it only happened to me during races, not in the menus before or afterwards and only in GRID, so it shouldn't be stream related. The 2nd thing that could need an update are the thumbnail graphics for the GRID World Series events. These are very low res compared to all the other ones in the career menu. I don't know if that is only the case in the Stadia version or not, but of course this only becomes noticable once these events are unlocked. 🙂

I hadn't seen the news about Higgins/Drew, that is an interesting development. The last rumour I read about Oliver Solberg suggested that he would be driving a Skoda in WRC2. Atko seems the mostly likely replacement in the existing Subaru line up: unless they are going to draft some fresh blood in?

Sure your opinion is of course valid, what I meant was what clues are there that make it obviously 2020 RX season? Most of what people have been saying is pure conjecture, the only clues we’ve been going on really have been the blue and gold of 555 and what sounds like a Subaru flat-four with unequal length exhaust manifolds i.e. a Group A Subaru... Most probably there will be some new RX content as the game still serves as the official World RX game, but what other clues are there?

I wouldn´t say the worst GRID ever, but it has many issues to be fixed!

Please qualify this statement ‘It seems pretty obvious’. To the rest of us the colour scheme and engine note of the Something is coming... video do not point towards Word RX

Finished yesterday round 5 of the Official DiRT Club at Greece. This time went with the Fiesta. Quite different driving compared to the Peugeot, but maybe for the Greece stages a solid choice. (sorry for the ones who are on the phone, because than it will be just a big list of photos )

Sometimes practicing for hours can be counter productive and frustrating. I find the easiest way to learn tracks is first to know them like the back of your hand. Easy way to do this is just setup a full length race with ai low so 50 and drive them 70 laps or so. Just follow the lines of the cars in front and eventually when you get more confident practice passing them. Once you know the track itself get on YouTube and watch some pole laps from pro drivers during real life qualifying sessions. This part is the most useful as you can observe braking, turn in and acceleration plus the incredibly useful gear shifts they use (I bet you change down lose than they do.. I did!). Eventually you will improve until you are at your best average and then will have good days and bad days but a lot more fun. Yes, like Marcel said, don't worry about the setups as they are so unrealistic they can actually teach you bad habits (for bad habits watch YouTube gamers cheat the system!) It doesn't help that the 2019 F1 game has poor handling relative to real life and other recent F1 games. I'd recommend picking up 2018 or 2017 while you practice as cornering is so much easier (and fun!)

Hope this week is going to be the week that somebody can give us a serious answer to a 10 July question about two buttons that work properly in any other game

Friendly reminder to everyone here: play nice. People are allowed to like this game. People are allowed to not like this game. People are allowed to share their opinions no matter which side of the fence they sit on. People are not allowed to accuse others of being paid shills. If you want to object to somebody’s opinion, do it though debating what they have said, not passive-aggressive attacks on one’s character. There is no place for that kind of nonsense here.
