3 pointsAs far as I can see, the only one generating 'infinite drama' @richie is yourself. The fog sucks bad, the promo pictures were misleading. Fact, fact. @PJTierney I hope you can see there's enough consternation over this fog, that it warrants an effort to at least reduce its intensity in Finland, and bring it in line with other stages.

1 pointHey all, I'm pleased to confirm that public lobbies are coming to GRID, in the form of Session Search, on January 13. Below are all the details you need on how the feature works, ahead of its launch. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Session Search option in GRID is a new addition to Multiplayer, coming in a free update. It allows players to search for and race in bespoke lobbies that have been created by other players. Session Search includes filters and other options for the player, meaning you can search for exactly what kind of race session you want to jump into. Session Select will be available from the first Multiplayer menu in a new third tile, alongside the existing two options, Quick Match and Custom Match (previously named Private Match). The TL;DR version of how It works is this: if you’ve played a recent Codemasters title that includes public lobbies, you’ll be familiar with the system we’re adding to GRID. 😊 Once players enter Session Search, you can adjust six different filters to narrow down your lobby search. These filters are: Show in Progress – Dictate whether or not your searches include lobbies that are currently racing Discipline – Choose to only show lobbies using Race or Time Attack events, or all Vehicle Class – Choose to only show lobbies using a specific vehicle class, or leave it open to all Hot Lap Qualifying – Choose to include or exclude lobbies that are include a Hot Lap Qualifying session AI Drivers – Choose to include or exclude lobbies that have enabled AI drivers to feature in races AI Skill Level – If AI drivers are enabled, use this option to include/exclude lobbies with certain AI skill level options Once you adjust these filters and begin the search, a new screen will appear, collating the live lobbies that meet your search requirements. In list format, the screen will show you the key features of each lobby, which are: Host – The name of the player hosting the lobby Event Card – This shows the session’s category, vehicle, each track in the event, and the game type Players – The number of players already in that lobby Progress – What stage of an event the lobby is currently at (Skirmish, Qualifying, Race) Round – Shows how many rounds the lobby consists of, and which round is currently in progress Track – The circuit that players in the lobby are currently racing on, or about to race on AI Drivers – Number of AI opponents included in races AI Skill Level – If AI drivers are include, this shows their chosen skill level Damage Level – The chosen damage level for the lobby Terminal Damage – Outlines whether or not terminal damage is active Flashbacks – The chosen number of Flashbacks allowed in races Hot Lap Qualifying – Shows if a Hot Lap Qualifying session is included in races From this screen, you will also be able to view the profile of the lobby host, and refresh the screen to search for more sessions. All the above allows you to narrow down your search and jump into session that best suits what kind of racing experience you’re looking for in GRID. For players creating race lobbies, you will still have the option of adjusting the visibility of your session. When creating your lobby in Custom Match, setting the visibility to ‘Public’ will ensure that your session is viewable to all players in Session Search. Once players have entered a lobby, the process is the same as Custom Match: at the end of the event you can choose to exit the lobby and find a new one, or stick around and let the lobby host create another session. Thank you to everyone for their feedback on public lobbies, which we’re pleased to bring into GRID in the form of Session Search. Jump in, enjoy, and let us know your thoughts. 😊

1 pointI think really the issue is the community events system was designed for DR1; a game that didn't have DLC. Dirt Rally 2.0 is trying to shoehorn a system that was made for a homogenous community into its new DLC business model. The whole daily/weekly/monthly idea is nice, but it's certainly not the last word in good ideas for community competition. They could/should redesign the community events system entirely imo. It's not really a complex part of the game and shouldn't cost a tonne for them to deliver a better experience next time round. Admittedly, that's in a DR3.0 mindset. For DR2, yeah, what the OP said.

1 pointThis gap you see there, where there are no trees visible in the fog, with the sky above it and no bushes on the ground, that is the road. Just drive towards that?
-
1 pointWhat is this?? A promo event including both DLC and base game locations?? Maybe now that we know world doesn't stop turning if you have both in the same event, we could see some more of that. Or events where you drive DLC cars on vanilla stages. Or on any stages, DLC rally cars are almost completely nonexistent in events now that even kit cars are "too old" to feature in events. Or events that actually involve the season content that is required to play them. Dream big, right?

1 pointSorry Richie, I’m a huge supporter of the game but I think the promo shots of Finland are seriously misleading - when that hasn’t been the case for the previous 5 rally location releases, I certainly bought on the basis of the shots that we’d seen posted several times. As for the video, I’d even seen that but there’s nothing that would suggest the conditions in the video would be the only weather option. I’m not suggesting that Codies are lying or set out to deceive, but the promo images I guess were generated (seeing as we saw them at Season 3 announcement blog) before it had completed testing in game and not updated to match the compromised final version. Also, PJ is doing a great job with comms and they’re at an all time high for the series IMO, so not sure of the link you’re making there. Anyway, it cost me the price of a sandwich and I’ve gotten plenty of enjoyment (and counting) from the rest of the game, so onwards and upwards - hopefully there’ll be another location in future to make it a nice round 12 in my game!

1 pointIt's really bad. Not just the visibility, but that it looks like fog from a game from 2001. You can't watch that video and not be "Like, ***?"
-
1 pointI'd love an answer to this as well. I can't stomach buying Steam version just to get the ability to purchase DLC

1 pointDo the photos have the fog? No? Then it's a lie. The fog was deliberately omitted. As for 'unplayable', what I said was it's 'for me unplayably ugly'. It's clearly the same for others here, who are even discussing how to remove Finland completely in another thread. The crawling up to Codies is so disproportionate, it almost hurts. Definitely next level.

1 pointHi @spirus91, BarryBL from Codies has given an update on some requested things in the "Community Requested" thread, which you should see at the top of the Technical assistence, including the Safety Car deployment. This is what he said: (hope it helps you) Safety Car. We have some tweaks which are planned to improve the deployment behaviour which are currently in test and hope to release in a future patch.

1 point@ChrisGrovesMCM Is this the only thing that multiplayer patch does? Or maybe there are some more multiplayer improvements? Like: possibility of setting the grid size? Or resolving multiplayer car tuning issue?

1 pointThis is probably it. I've dropped the difficulty to compensate for this because it's hurting my hands too much trying to keep up. 😁 Thanks to everyone for their feedback. 👍

1 pointYesterday I had time to play S1 content, 2 hours in campaign and 2 hours in private lobby multiplayer. Here are my impressions: - bots are very fast in Paris, with hot hatches I was really struggling to keep up with them on VH - Paris itself is awesome, feels better than in Autosport - new cars are very fun, but I have some doubts about the balance. AWD cars are way easier to win with, because of excellent launch and superior corner exit traction. With the Mini, I had really hard time chasing bots, but with Audi I went from 14th to 5th before even the first turn - cars still look filty and scratched when starting a race 😞 I don't even want to bother with those new unlockable liveries, what's the point if it's all covered in scratches anyway? - 2 lap races on 2,5km track are back... I have no idea what Codies are thinking here. Tough Paris bots + 2 lap race + FWD car = forget about even being on the podium, there's simply to time to catch the bots... only quali helps and I find it really lame to be forced to run quali - new career events are pretty fun nevertheless, new car class and new track are all nicely implemented into some fun (but short) championships - still no option to set grid size for private multiplayer lobbies 😞 I'm playing with 1 friend, and we're forced to play with 14 bloodthirsty bots, or no bots at all - still no option to move the camera during replays... I wanted to take some cool screenshots of my races, but it's pointless to even try. Please, re-enable moving cam for replays, like it was in Autosport! - NEAR MISS seems to be triggering nicely now, both me and my buddy achieved 1st rank of this trophy after just few multiplayer races. I wish TWO WHEELS was triggering more, I had lots of situations when I was going on 2 wheels but the game never noticed - still no Racenet challenges... COME ON CODEMASTERS! - still no money from multiplayer races - this is something I really don't understand. When using loan vehicle, game warns you, that you'll lose some of your earnings... but you don't earn anything (except for XP, that is useless) so what the hell? You choose to not create a separate multiplayer game, with its own progression, everything is mixed up here... so how people are supposed to buy new cars, if they choose to ignore the career? - still can't change car tuning in multiplayer, and this is pretty bizarre. I just mentioned you didn't do a single/multi game separation, like you did in G2 and Autosport. So the cars I have tuned in singleplayer, keep their tuning for multiplayer, which is RIDICULOUS. My singleplayer time attack build for, say, FD2 Civic with supershort gear ratios and suspension set for taking kerbs is not going to work for 5 race event that contains long straights... and not only I can't change those tunings, I can't even look at them. So it's always a surprise, will the car work or not? As I don't remember all the tunings I did for career mode. This is really critical, Codies. I mean it. You dun goofed this one really bad. Overall, we were pretty happy with Season 1. I wish we got more tracks, 1 recycled track per season does not sound good enough, considering the state of the game on release. I don't mind recycling tracks at all, Autosport (and Grid 2) had lots of great tracks with multiple layouts, like Dubai or Chicago. We need those 3 missing SPRINT tracks back also 🙂 Looking forward to play more of S1 content during weekend. The game is going in the right direction, but I wish it went a bit faster 🙂

1 pointWithout the ballast the cars have much better rear grip for me on F1 2019 than on F1 2018 (and same for F1 2017), so I'm very surprised to read these comments to be honest

1 pointAs someone who just bought this game about a month ago, I cannot stop playing and thinking about this game. I love these 100% duration races, I love the tight battles of Career mode with the AI, how great it feels to just finish 9th and get Alfa Romeo some points - it's never felt so satisfying to lose before. Worth every penny I've paid without a doubt, and I see this title following right behind Dirt Rally 2.0 for me and clearing 500 hours in no time at all.

1 pointYou can see the Love from the Developers in this Season 1 DLC! It is fantastic and it is the best DLC from all Racing games I have ever played, it is amazing! The Career mode is so much more fun, there is more veriety in the tracks and disciplines Paris looks awesome! Never saw a game before what looks so good, the Details are amazing, the Eifeltower, The Trumphbogen, it is amazing, especially at night with the amazing lights from the Eifeltower, so cool! The AI in Paris is finally a dream in this game! they are on hard really hard and on very hard really very hard, you can see the love from the developers and they listened to us with the slow AI, now please also make the AI so fast and so good in all the other tracks in this game, this is a very big progress! 33 Events in the career mode are really long for a dlc, this is what a dlc should be Thank you so much Codemasters, this is a very good pre Christmas present from you 🙂 🙂 The Season 1 is the best Step to get a very good grid game, make the AI in the Future in the other tracks so good like in paris and this is the best Racing game ever, I can't wait for the Career Lenght Patch 😄 😄 This is a very good job from you Codies, thank you! 🙂

1 pointI like the original post from @Katzenkralle91, maybe it sounds little bit exaggerated, but that’s all. I enjoy this game. @Katzenkralle91

1 pointFinally somebody who is correct and don't write useless things like "he get money" I never was so attacked in a community like here.... I only enjoy this game and like it, is this so awful if somebody like this game? And this is how you have said it, They will fix all these issues in Season 2, never saw a community like this, Attacking other People because they like a game.... And I will say it again and again and again: I like this game, it has his faults but they will listen to us, every game has its faults, I don't know a game, which is perfect, okay Dirt Rally 2.0 is also from Codemasters, I love this game it is nearly perfect, but Grid is also a good game IN MY OPINION Every Human has his Opinion, if somebody don't like it, okay, it is so, I accept every Opinion and respect everybody but I whould never attack him with Sentences like in this post....

1 pointYeah mate, absolute shocker we have to pay for content worked on by people with families to feed!

0 pointsOk so you want to ignore the video and keep repeating they lied to you. They omitted the fog, you had no idea how Finland was going to look like. Fine. With that kind of attitude it's no wonder communication with devs and other Codies staff is at a minimum and you guys are actually ruining it for everyone here. Congratulations.
