2 points@BarryBL I love a simulation safety car, but I understand a lot of people doesn't want it. I already suggested in some others safety car topics, and I will post it here too, maybe it's not something for F1 2019 but really think about it for F1 2020. Add multiple safety car options, something like: Disabled | Reduced | Moderated | Simulation And I am sure everyone will be happy. EDIT: Something else I think should happen if it's a 50% or 25% race, the safety car should stay less laps in the track.

1 pointApologies if this has come up before. Very briefly could the pit release trigger point be changed to the end of the pit lane where the speed limit no longer applies rather than the end of the white line. Frustrates the heck out of me that I can't control the speed of the car when there's no longer a limit enforced and you're just catapulted at full acceleration into turn 1 on most circuits. (Monza and Austin spring to mind as nuisance ones) Cheers all! 👍

1 point@UP100 Dude this is how almost all of existing mods are done. Resident Evil with Witcher characters, GTA with NFS cars etc etc! If you so jealous - you could make GRID friendly for modding too. And modders would "steal" tracks for GRID :) To be said, big modding community is what makes people to stay with the game much longer. That was your choice to make "closed" game. Instead insulting others for stealing - learn how to make the game attractive for gamers. Codies are hated because they released the game which looks worse than THEIR OWN 6 YEARS OLD GAME! With TWO(!) racing modes!!! With zero features in multiplayer!!! What in the universe can justify that???

1 pointThese cars, extra Career events, really cool. But Red Bull Ring??? Seriously? Third time just like Paris? Codies, WHY??? Couldn't you add some tracks from Racedriver GRID or GRID Autosport, which featured the series once, for example Milan (Racedriver GRID) or Hockenheimring (GRID Autosport)? And whic track you are going to add in Season 3? Yas Marina? Or maybe Chicago? 👎 At least tracks are free.

1 point@BarryBL My suggestion going forwards is that there could be an option in settings that we can set to decide how sensitive the safety car is or possibly what the maximum number of deployments per race is. That way everyone, both the people who want realism and the people who want a slightly more arcade no SC approach, is happy.
-
1 pointSometimes it's better if a game isn't 100% realistic in an aspect, and this is certainly the case here. If a race has 3 safety cars then you know for you as a driver your whole race can be ruined. What's the point of practicing a strategy for the race when you know that your pace and strategy will be completely pointless? As the safety cars will mean that the whole outcome of the race is just decided by luck on at what exact moment the safety cars will come out. If they did this only for career mode then it probably would have been great. However with the safety car spam in online league races it completely ruins the game.
-
1 pointThe safety car and VSC indeed come out way too often now, it completely ruins league races. Instead of your pace deciding the end result of the race it is now just pure luck that decides the outcome of races. I sincerely hope that Codemasters changes this as soon as possible, because right now it is just unacceptable

1 pointWe previously investigated this and it's not a case of the progression being stuck. If you reset your profile/save progress in the game, your distance travelled stat remains at what you reached, until you reach it again with the new save. Once you reach the distance travelled from your previous save, it will start to progress again 🙂

1 pointHi @AraGur, If you are having problems with the game, please let us know. Remember, it is quite a learning process to get to terms with the game. If it makes you feel better, I've played about 38267164 hours of the F1 series and I'm still average on pace 😂
-
1 pointFrom my point of view, no, the VSC was perfect for this situation the key problem was that the driver with the damage was driving along the path instead of departing from it. Furthermore in a VSC situation drivers should great care must be taken to ensure that the purpose for which VSC is deployed.
-
1 point@BarryBL I've just finished a league race on xb1, we had 3 safety cars and 1 VSC around 50% bahrain. Not one of the incidents required a safety car, one was a car spun and recovered fine and was driving at the back of the field, i honestly don't even know what the other two were for. Probably wing damage. It's coming out way too frequently now and ruining league races, i've had feedback from others that they have also seen 3 safety cars in a 50% race since the patch. I'm confident you'll be getting a lot more of these posts.
-
1 pointIt's the same thing every year! Is it really impossible to do all this at once, so as not to release then dozens of patches that do not fix almost anything. For 10 years, you have not been able to create a real car engine sound and realistic tyres. What kind of realism can we talk about?!
-
1 pointOliver's is this weekend. You missed Petter's. We'll make the liveries available again later in the year 🙂

1 pointThe problems described here are probably due to misunderstanding what a pit limiter does in real life and how it is programmed in game. It is NOT an insta-brake solution. Its sole purpose is instead to STOP you accidentally pressing the gas a little too much while 'taxiing' to and from your pit crew. It is not supposed to slow you down, only stop you speeding up. In game it may not act the same as real life and it DOES seem slow you down but that's only because once activated it cuts all throttle input entirely if you are initially over the pit speed limit. The most effective way of using it is to practice your pit entry for EACH track and see how late you can brake to slow your car down in time without using your limiter at all. Then once you have honed your stopping skill somewhat then practice doing the same but then pressing the pit limit button the moment you approach the actual speed limit. Then you can safely add gas knowing you won't be caught speeding in the pit lane. It is a different assist to the pit entry assist (auto pit stops or whatever it is called in the game ) which WILL grab your car on pit entry and rather unrealistically slow it down before the speed limit comes into effect. It does you no harm watching real drivers from cockpit cams, seeing how late they brake and when they apply the pit limiter button themselves. It is an underrated race winning skill for sure, precious seconds are wasted by anyone who has not mastered late braking and accurate slowing down when entering the pits. It would be kinda cool if Codies could include a pit entry practice/tutorial session in future games. Maybe during practice there could be extra career points available and even achievements available for nailing this skill. You would lose points for every wasted meter that you traveled at pit entry speed limit BEFORE actual pit entry. Plus of course lose all points if you were too late stopping! It could be a simple recode of the tutorials that have been available for over 2 decades in the Gran Turismo games where you have to travel a fixed distance in the shortest possible time AND stop your car in the checkered track area. Could be kinda fun if there was a leader board for it in TT too. 😎
-
1 pointI know what you mean, but you have to understand the difference between Pit Limit Button and Pit Limit Assist. The Pit limit assists is very unrealistic , because you can drive with full throttle to the pits and it will brake you down to the pit limit speed just in front of the pit entry line. Very bad solution in my eyes...CM should edit the pit limit assist...by slow you down 100-200 m before the entry.

1 pointYou need to brake and slow down yourself aswell mate I try to press the limiter while braking then when you go to accelerate it won't go over the limit it's all about timing. Go to a practice session in grand prix with flash backs on and practice for each track you want to race it's all trial and error. also the pit assist option is to do with pit release when making your pit stop it doesn't involve pit entry. Hope this makes sense and helps you.
-
1 pointThey really do need to make progress on the bugs though. And start releasing proper patch notes because frankly, they've been vague - promising much and delivering little. I think Liberty do want a title per year if it maximises revenue. Anything that reduces the revenue streams from the licence is bad. Propping that up with meaningless DLC? Well....honestly, if casuals want to fill their helmets, suits, gloves and boots, then fine. If it marginalises resources to *improve* the title, also bad. Sales would be better if the game was. Only negative is DLC like we are saying reduces the options for discounting the game in sales. And if the DLC is also reduced in the sales, people will wait. Unless the game is good.
-
1 pointYeah this is why I think F1 2020 will be DLC for this game engine. Puts the F1 2021 release on a two year cycle. Just the mention of "supporting F1 2019 for longer than ever" is ringing in my ears. But I just hope they can figure out (and solve) why the game continues to be riddled with the same old bugs.

0 pointsI've watched a good few league races over the past couple of nights and the SC and VSC seem to be working really well. Yes there have been a couple of races where there have been 3-4 interventions, but these races had a lot of crashes (and were around the street tracks as well). Places like Singapore, Baku always have loads of safety cars, the game has to reflect that and its great Codemasters are now doing that.
-
0 pointsF1 games already feature tracks that have been made using a type of laserscanning, so it's an obvious yes 😛
