2 pointsSometimes people think that higher difficulty is higher simulation. That is completely incorrect.

1 pointI try to race clean in GRID 2019, as I do any other racing game, but the AI brake so early before every corner and they will also aggressively block you on the straights, so collisions are inevitable. But the way collisions are handled seems really frustrating. When you are on a straight and you’re about to overtake a car in front (the AI never seem to use more than 90% throttle), the AI will always swerve into you, and I have lost track of how many times they’ve swerved into my fender and sent me spinning as if my car had no weight, while they just keep on going. Into the corners, I have found that you can use the AI drivers in front as instant brakes, as they are impenetrable walls whenever they are in front of you. And to take it a step further and go from aggressive driving to ‘hostile’ driving, you can go deep into the corner and as long as your car’s bumper is in front of the other car’s bumper when you make contact, they will be sent spinning instead, and you can carry on without repercussion. I think the most frustrating thing is when you accidentally bump the rear of an AI car, often on the straights given they swerve in front of you and never use full throttle, and your car kind of ‘glues’ to theirs, as if the AI is so bewildered at a slight bump that they then get completely off the throttle, giving up and ruining both their race and yours. So you try to steer to get around them and ‘unstick’ yourself, but of course they are in front and so they are an impenetrable wall, and you manage to spin yourself out on a straight. Just some thoughts on the collision system. It’s the main reason why I find this game more frustrating than fun. Anyone else feel the same?

1 pointI think it would be a nice touch for the Chinese GP to be dropped from the opening season of career mode but then be put back on the schedule for all other seasons of the career mode.

1 pointso what? just play more and you will improve. I play on PC, but I've never turned off the grass. it's more fun/risky and it looks nicer!

1 pointMy little nephew and niece are here for a visit, and some old toys were gotten from the attic, including this 1/43 Burago Escort (which has seen better days). As far as I can check it is based on the 1994 San Remo rally version, driven by Cunico.

1 pointHi @psYchovic77, Thanks for your post. This is, in some rare cases, something that we are aware of and has been raised to the development team for investigation.
-
1 pointYeah, Ogier is a very smart driver and tends to be pretty consistent with his point scoring: his greatest moments have been pulling some epic drives out of the bag when he has been up against it.

1 pointI'm still waiting for those sweet sweet DLC car files to be decrypted so we can make some sweet sweet sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet liveries... 😄 (I know it's not going to happen but still) Or at least remember us when the next Dirt Rally is in development and maybe we can design some. You know, in the spirit of "a game for the players, by the players..." Something to keep in the back of your mind, @PJTierney... 😉

1 pointAnd what Project Cars 3 has got in common with DiRT if these are completely different series of games? The team responsible for DiRT series is not responsible for PrCars series. As it was said, Codemasters acquired SMS but CM are divided on teams, each responsible for particular series. DiRT, GRID, F1, etc. Last year 'DiRT Rally 2.0' and 'GRID (2019)' were released. One team wouldn't rather be able to make and release both these games in the same year. 'DiRT Rally 3' should be around 2021, 2022.

1 pointDefinitely agree with this: I think there was a level of inconsistency with car behaviour in DR1 that was reduced with D4 and has now been eliminated in DR2.0. Cars could snap without warning in DR1 and some of the physics in the air seemed well off. ...yeah, its still tricky, but definitely less random on the limit now! Ditto. I occasionally load up DR1 for PIkes Peak and D4 for the Focus RS RX and DS3... ...would really be helping me out if you could get the DS3 sorted as a final hurrah for DR2.0 @PJTierney!

1 pointTotally recommend it. It’s also my most played game. Only had a break with SW Jedi Fallen Order during the Xmas holidays. imo its more realistic than DR1 and D4, but on the other side easier to handle with just a controller compared to DR1. But overall mastering the game is still on a high level. What is that expression again “East to learn, hard to master”. yes some cars and locations are from DR1, but overall are updated, new physics and some also new sounds. you can always start with just the base game and later add the DLC. I do have the suggestion, if you are on a controller, than rather start with a FWD or 4WD. Rear wheel drive is very tricky. yes the game has a few minus. The AI could be better, RWD physics could be better imo and tarmac physics could be better. But this are still better than the previous two games. you could always join the official clubs and maybe check some PS4 members like me, @tbtstt or @JamesMcAdam and join us for some online sessions in both Rallycross and Rally. overall, I think if you liked DiRT4 a lot, you will definitely like DR2.0 also a lot. The only thing that would cause me to boot up DiRT 4 (just happened twice in the last year) is for the Marklund Polo, DS3 and Focus RS RX Rallycross Supercars. Unfortunately those cars did not make the return to DR2.0 in any way (base game or dlc). (Why not @PJTierney? 😭)

1 pointThis might seem a bit nuts but it would be cool to experiment with. Doing your own Recce and Pacenotes. It might be tedious and awkward but we know it's possible as there's a mod out there that lets you do this. If a system like that were refined and put in the game, it could be a cool way to communicate that aspect of rallying in a game. Multiplayer ride-along/Co-Drive. This would also be nuts, but it would be really fun to have the game support a co-driver that rides along with you in the stage. There could be an in-game UI for a co-driver to show pacenotes on screen and check them off as you go. This would definitely be unusual, but it'd be an awesome option for players to experience being a co-driver. Clubs that required real co-drivers (AI Co-Driver disabled) could be made that could have a really authentic experience. At the least, it would be cool to have the option to join someone in the co-driver's seat just to ride along, even if they're not doing pacenotes.

1 pointHi Alex, At this moment in time, we have 1 more patch in the development plans. As you can imagine, sometimes these are subject to change, but we are continuing to support the game

1 pointI think so far none of the replay files have been updated in the game. Same with some rally locations where the camera just show the upper half of the car.

1 pointMy biggest issue with Dirt Rally in general is simply that it's always the same roads and that you end up knowing them well. When you know the road you're racing on then it's no longer "real" rallying. What I like about rallying is the uncertainty and long stages where I don't know what to expect entirely. A lot of people would simply say that's just how it is and that a there is no way that the devs can make quality tracks faster than player can learn them and the philosophy that Dirt Rally 2.0 follows with track design is far better than the Dirt 4 system (I completely agree with that). But hear me out for a minute. In June 2009 Codemaster released a game called Fuel developed by Asobo Studio. The game had (and maybe still has) the largest map ever made for a video game with 14 400 km² (or 10 000 square miles for burgers). The map had huge part of the US in it with true 1:1 scale mountains like Mount Rainier and other landmarks like the Grand Canyon. How did they do it? They used satellite imagery and generated surfaces to automatically match with the data given by the satellites. Fuel in itself wasn't an incredible game and honestly it was quite boring since every roads were usually way too flat and the procedural content was extremely repetitive and bland (always the same barns with the same layout) it wasn't uncommon to find weird places where the roads would merge with the terrain. However more than 10 years have passed since the release of Fuel and in those years satellite imagery and procedural generation has been greatly improved, I believe that nowadays such a map could be made with realistic road bumps and enough variation in the road surfaces to come close to Dirt Rally 2.0 roads in term of driving experience. Now imagine : a map with the same scale as Fuel had, realistic roads, the same physics as Dirt Rally 2.0 (with improved tarmac physics), more realistic (more that current hardcore) vehicle damage, the possibility for the community to create their own stages and races by tracing them on the map and unlimited distance, dynamic weather, as well as other features such as being able to carry more tires and change your whole set mid stage and other cool stuff. All this could create the most complete and most insane rally experience with the possibility to have 24h or more long events. The best players would no longer be people knowing every exploits of every tracks like they're playing Trackmania but instead the best players would only be the one with the best driving skills and consistency . Well for now this game is just a dream but this is how I would love for Codies to take the Dirt Rally franchise.

1 pointAs a trophy hunter I feel very insulted: It‘s no problem for you that we have to grind like hell for one little trophy, but you‘re not sure if it is worth your time to give us at least a chance to track our grind. Great ^^

1 pointHello all, Assumptions are really bad: Ive been playing F1 2014 on my ps3 for the last 5 years. Finally decided to upgrade to ps4. Bought a copy of F1 2017, great game, BUT no split screen mode (1st assumption) (I play most of the time in this mode with my kid) Thought to myself, no problem, I'll keep playing f1 2014 for this (2nd assumption)... but just found out the ps4 is not backward compatible Arggghhhh! Feel kinda dumb and annoyed at both Sony and Codemasters. Seems the only way I'll be playing split screen with kid is if F1 2020 sees the return of this beloved multiplayer mode. Can I get +1 from everyone who agrees please? Thanks in advance oh mighty forum! A disappointed dad

1 point- Updating Mclaren Mercedes MP4/13 (1998): Livery with "Mika" & "David" (if "West" or this Little logo with the star in front of the Mirror isn't possible) - Possibility of creating a new Team for the Career mode (choose between different car parts and upgrade them) - Historic F1 Seasons (with the respective rules, i.e. choosing between different fuel strategies) - Adding to the historic track list of itsayoke420 the old Spa circuit with the bus stop chicane

1 pointOkay, but for what? It's F1, not a destruction derby. This game requires more work in other aspects than collision physics. In my humble opinion.

1 pointOr 100 races of 99 laps around indy oval. With the fastest car it should only take 4-5 days if doing it all day 🙂
