Well, somebody put up a sign over the door saying "open to all", so y'all only have y'allselves to blame that I came on in. I'm the guy in the VERY slow, turd-colored #13 Legacy with the fuzzy dice on the mirror and the back end full of beer bottles and sausage packages. I'll try hard not to block the road with the broken carcass of my car and will gladly pull over to let faster traffic pass, but y'all will have to honk loud because I've got zydeco blaring on my CD player. I look forward to being utterly and completely schooled by you all because I need learning. I shall now have to go back several years of posts to get the backstory on what I suspect are by now long-standing rivalries. So thanks for letting me in and I hope not to make a mess 🙂 Anyway, I did the 1st 3 stages of Spain just now and am proud to say i only slightly dinged my car once. You know that really long straightaway that ends in a hairpin? Yeah, I braked a "hair" too late and gently nosed into the outside wall after making 90^ of the 180^. But of course, keeping my car intact means I went very slow. Seemed fast to me from the driver's seat until I saw the replay from outside and thought, "I could jog that fast'. And I'm old and have had 3 knee surgeries 😄. So, lots of fun so far. You'll find me at the mid-event service area boiling a pot of crawfish for the rest of y'all when y'all get here. I seem to be the 1st person to do this so far (it says I'm #1 of 1 total participant). Don't know if that's true or just a bug, but either way it makes me feel good to be leading an event for a change 😄. I'm sure that will change within the hour....

This is why compulsory online play was, is and always will be a bad idea. Hopefully the servers come back online soon, because I bought Dirt Rally 2 to...play Dirt Rally 2

A fairly new player to this game franchise having been through all the GT iterations and looking for another driving option to add to the list. Coming from an IT background I will say that the uptime of your racenet service is shocking and given the nature of the game and effort put into cutting down seconds across the learning curve of getting familiar with the driving mechanics and course layouts, it’s such a downer to get a 10 minute penalty for racenet connection issues! Are there no other options to keep the community of players eager to come back after a negative experience? I have been experiencing these connection issues almost daily since purchasing DR2.0 Today’s issues persist and after multiple efforts at viewing replays and tuning the car at different menu stages I can no longer work around this last connection failed error and have been stuck at this point in the weekly for over 20 minutes unable to progress. My only option is to quit to the main menu knowing I will not be able to progress further despite leading after the 4 qualifiers in the AI RX2 challenge! If I did not enjoy driving as much as I do I would genuinely consider never playing this title again! It is unreasonable to expect people to simply continue with this quality of service!

"some players having trouble connecting"? Are some actually able to play (not the offline modes)? How do the system choose which ones that can play and which cant play?

Latest: Some backend changes have been made. Support is monitoring the situation and continuing to make changes where required.

I found a fix for it (That worked for me anyway) The game was trying to launch into a higher resolution than my 1080p monitor can display. I didn't have a hardware settings file the change this either since I was unable to load the game ever. The solution for me was to create the folder manually "\Documents\My Games\F1 2019\" Then download: https://forums.codemasters.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=15732 Extract to: "\Documents\My Games\F1 2019\" Go to \Documents\My Games\F1 2019\hardwaresettings\ and "Right-Click hardware_settings_config.xml" and click edit. Look for: resolution width="2560" height="1440" and change to a resolution your monitor supports (For me 1920x1080).

To those who have lost their career credits, this issues with the servers has been in Dirt Rally since day one of launch from time to time. I can confirm that usually once the server connection issues have been resolved that your credits and achievements do return - until the next time that RaceNet goes down (which is quite often)..

I bought lately this game, played ~1 hour, servers offline, can't do much besides offline time trials and such. Now I'm considering refund because it isn't some quick restart and this development team seems rather incompetent. + i have to wait pointlessly at every start of the game... who designed this and didn't made some backup plans for situation like this

The most important change would be that the server can be reached

The server is still very, very slow and I don't always get a connection. Codemasters finally fixes this problem. I bought this game last year to play it and not to wait for hours on the server When Codemasters sells a game, it must also be playable

Oh come on, we have 19 spots taken in our league! 😁 I would be over 20 if we wouldn't remove users that didn't tell us that they weren't going to participate for the race. The F1 side will always be less active in around January-March as people take the earlier game from granted, and are waiting for the next one. Usually the people that stay are ones who like to complain, and not actually play the game. We also got the all-time peak on PC just a week or so ago!

i have No idea what to say any more...................i feel "unheard". Tracks tracks tracks............don't know how much more simple i can state this, maybe just say it once ? ..........................................ghost i agree this "excitement" non detail is Not exciting. also i am at a point of there's just too much salt & i will just stay with older titles. lastly, there is No return for GRID, to me it will remain as GREED.........................not sure i care to post any more. i had a blast with doom eternal but i know the writing on the wall, it's DOOM'd when it comes to customers............i ain't eating a shizz samwich. i would rather forage & take chances of eating BAD mushrooms.............. to the rest of you...........bless, stay safe &................i think this may be my last post on the CM forums. i see Nothing better in the future..........in MOST games.

Frankly the servers have had way too many outages and resolution times way too long since I started playing on July 2019. In particular if the servers go down on the weekend, which happens about once a month, the servers will not come up until Monday at the earliest. In the last 4 weeks we have had 4 outages now. On Twitch a meme developed to describe a situation where Racenet caused a DNF on a club or caused an online lobby to fall apart: people say "I got Racenetted". Twitch Streamers want Racenet to work well and we feel we are often in damage control when our viewers are reacting to Racenet problems. Please don't just make the servers work again, please build some robustness into the servers.

As far as locations go. DR 2.0 has 13. That is plenty. (Can't remember if CMR 2.0 or 2005 had more). But what it lacks is number of different stages in said countries. The stages that are in the game are fine. But you familiarize yourself with them fast. A minimum of 4 long stages should suffice. The more the merrier. Also, If DR 3.0 runs in the same engine I have no qualms with them putting the content from DR 2.0 into 3(preferrably for free) , just expanding the number of stages, Instead of having 2 stages close to one another. Have stages made that are far from each other in the country, if possible.

Managed to get a half hour of gameplay done after 2 days of nothing before the servers **** their pants again. I’ve only owned the game for 2 days! how many posts on this thread are required before some progress is made by Codemasters to rectify what seems to be major issues?!

Guys PLEASE somebody CHECK dirt Rally 2.0 GOTY. As far as i know it's a full game and no content should be DLC. So it might be a chance installing liveries will be possible??!. By the way if this works somebody do the KREMER 2002 focus livery. Cheers everybody.

I would not argue about physics, as now I am no sure if it have any relation to reality at all, though I will admit that in DR2.0 dry gravel stages really feel much better then in any previous Dirt game. And great thanks for CM for Monte Carlo. This is a really great job! 👍 Smoky Finland and slippery wet roads - not so much. 👎 I played every Dirt since CMR: Dirt 2, so here are the things I am missing: Dirt 2 Atmosphere of motor sport holiday. Fireworks at finish for stage winner. Dialogs and competition with famous racers. Menu like a camper trailer. Yes, after a couple of hours in game it may become bothering to wait for slow camera to move from menu to menu, but there is simple solution - shortcut bar, like in Dirt Rally 2015. Dirt 3 Rally Kenya, Toyota cars, cool liveries, big expandable training ground at Battersea Power Station. Head 2 Head races More unexpected moments - people escaping from track, ability to overtake slow opponent, who started earlier. Female co-driver Dirt Rally 2015 Smokeless Finland Crowd, that does not cripple my GPU Rain drops hitting asphalt in heavy rain Some cool replay camera views Audi sport quatro B2 (not S1) Really cool liveries Pikes Peak hill climb Ability to choose any time/day/weather conditions for time trail Both simplified and advanced car setups Russian Co-driver Dirt 4 Good teaching exercises for beginners. This game has the best newcomer teaching course so far. This should be on day 1 of the release to attract more audience. Ability to set up gymkhana courses in DirtFish. Land rush and rally cross. Best team management in Dirt Games (though WRC 8 looks better) Livery creator tool (though in other games it implemented much better) I am NOT missing stage generator, because in Dirt 4 it was the worst part of the game. But I will really appreciate if it is done right way - big region, with set and random courses in it (like Forza Horizon 3-4, Dakar 18). Dirt Rally 2.0 Good FFB after all. Good handling on dry gravel. Amount of available cars and stages. Monte Carlo. Scotland. Subaru S4 and WRX STI 2015, modern Rally GT RWD cars. Unexpected moments with drone and animals, alive spectators - these make the game alive. In fact, Codemasters do not have to try that much hard. They already have everything to make a great rally game. They just need to gather everything they had in the past into one big cool project, so it will be able to compete even with such monster like Forza Horizon.

In Colin McRae Rally 1 and 2.0 you could choose to play 1-4 people on local multiplayer, just choose a rally or stage and then you competed against each other on the same computer after each other...
