6 pointsSo 'My Team', ey? Kinda knew that was coming considering the multiplayer car from last year allowed customisation. Although this is great, I do worry. My worry is that if this mode is just the normal career with no changes, then great I can create a team, customise the livery, assume pick a random driver to drive along with me but then what? The same boring career mode? Nah thanks. I've been calling time and time again for more immersion in this game. Silly, repetitive practice games that mean nothing in the grand scheme of things, set up your car, qualify and then race = boring. There needs more emphasis on making results truly count for something on a personal level for me as a driver and now my team. I want to be immersed in that my team has to achieve a certain position in the constructers to progress or earn sponsors to get that cash in to do R&D or pay for a decent driver. I need that blow when I total a car or parts of my car costing me money and therefore hampering my chances to progress - just a penalty replacing worn parts or even a grid penalty just doesn't cut it. I want that real feeling of rivalry in the sport between teams and drivers. "I have to beat him!", "We must finish ahead of Alpha Romeo!" Pull me in for goodness sake otherwise it's a worthless addition and more for those people who like to record videos and role play uding their own house rules. The commentary has to be dynamic and in keeping with how the championship is unfolding building the tension, excitement or disappointment. Your engineer has to be more emotional a bit like the older games. Mass excitement if you overachieve or sheer hatred or disappointment if it all goes wrong. Bring back the driver cut scenes at the end of the race which is dependent on your result. Heck throw in some team scenes now that this new mode is there. Hate this winning team and podium scene all the time. The podium should be a grand occasion when you make it and by showing it all the time makes it feel tainted when you reach it. Now this new mode is in, there has to be some big things with recruitment for R&D, pre-season testing which actually makes a difference not just R&D points, cash management so that you can lose money (or R&D points) if you total cars, destroy parts, lose sponsors, your 2nd drive decides to leave and takes sponsors away, etc. This is obviously a rant about career mode and this new additional career mode. Obvious improvements also need to be made in Leagues, online, better setups, more realistic driving physics, contacts, damage, HUD customisation etc.

5 pointsI think they haven't seen that video of lando and max deleting f1 2019 yet🤣 or their comments on this so called handling that our simulation players love. I can't help to feel somewhat offended by that line, along with so much more SIMULATION players, since we have been stating how TERRIBLE the handling is, NOTHING POSITIVE LET ALONE USE THE WORD LOVE. FFS, even when real F1 drivers call the handling ANYTHING except GOOD, then you're blatantly ignorant. Isn't there some rule against false advertising? Because making that statement when all around the world people (from simracers to real f1 drivers) are destroying the awful handling model, is just flat out LYING!

5 pointsI noticed that my manual might not always work. When i was editing the Porsche and used the Evo X as a placeholder my manual didn't work and game crashed. When i used the Peugeot 208 as mentioned in the manual as a placeholder it worked without problems. So for some reason choosing the placeholder is important although not sure what the criteria are. Here is my new livery, made an update to the existing Porsche in the game.

4 pointsDirt 2 had the menu system that everyone hated so they reverted and removed it from Dirt 3. Not that it's essential. The rally tracks actually weren't too bad. But this argument is flawed, just because an older title didn't have current features doesn't mean a new entry won't. Unless you mean they were worse games, in which I still disagree. There's was plenty to do in the other motorsports in D2 and D3. Gymkhana was fun, but it's major downfall was the campaign forced it on people.

4 pointsAh, guess that would be this then*?... * Apologies everyone for tainting the mighty DiRT thread with inferior motorsport.

4 pointsHow many will have short memories of the previous games? I’m holding out until the first proper reviews and bugs come out. Year on year now we’ve had announcement, hype and then the beta. The Youtubers get a copy and will always talk good of it. Then it comes out and same bugs surface.

3 pointsI'd say Paul was leading the DR2.0 for about half the development at least. If they go for D5 I hope they go full out off-road party game and leave the more serious business to The Rally series. Hopefully they would use a different team and develop them in tandem.

3 pointsFeels to me like they are just making the game even more for 12-year olds. For me I wish they could just focus on the handling of the car, AI's behavior when lapped/blue flags, full control in pit lane, practice starts, etc, etc, with things to make it more realistic. I am not here for roleplay and designing my make belive F1 car, I want to drive what is supposed to be an F1 car behaving as realistic as possible. And I am guessing Codemasters still dont put much effort into that, when they continue to realese new silly features for the game like this. But that is just me and I am assuming that I am not the target audience for Codemasters, as I could just go and play iRacing, right?

3 pointsI was hoping that the game would go more in the direction of simulation, but I can see by the trailer that it is getting more and more arcade. And this sentence "car handling that our simulation players love" makes me afraid of this game.

3 points"New content" is probably bad word. I was hoping for - classic track, or some from previous F1 games. - multi work properly - physic more like sim - force feedbeck - damage model - more realistic tv graphic - career with interactive Padock, like 2010/2011. We have greate drives 3d model, why don't use them even more. -better penalty system - manual pitstop - Improvements to the weather system And more.

2 pointsRight. I have had this debate before I think but I don't think F1 2019 does the ballast rules right. https://www.racefans.net/2018/10/18/how-f1-will-cut-shorter-drivers-weight-advantage-in-2019/ "To make it harder for drivers to gain an advantage through the positioning of this ballast, its location is specified in the rules. The 2019 regulations state it must be “entirely located to the car between the front and rear extent of the cockpit entry template, attached securely to the survival cell and sealed by the FIA.” Teams can continue to position other ballast elsewhere on the car." Now this is my understanding of the rules. The 80kg needs to be made up in the cockpit but the rest is free game where you put it. And thus taking the ballast option out for 2019 was wrong imo. Now why do I care? The removal destroyed all my setups in 2019. I was a lot slower.

2 pointsI don't really even know why we do the beta. Most of us wouldn't even pass the requirements for temporary job as a QA technician at Codies, so the beta is usually just carnage. The small few will break all rules and leak everything about the game trying to hide it as much as possible The other few will just play the game and gives no feedback at all The most (of the people that provide bug reports) will provide horrible quality bug reports (worse than current Technical Assistance reports!) that are usually just duplicates of already existing threads The few will be able to provide proper feedback with "okay"-to-"good"-quality reports. Thanks those who've done so! Then there are also the guys that go insulting other members and Codemasters because they didn't get in the beta, somehow thinking that they're better than everyone else... Instead of having a "Why should we pick you?" text form that most will write a word into (I write some hundreds usually), we should basically have these as the requirements: Capable of writing English to an acceptable degree (as in, can be understood in most situations) Understanding of game development and how games and engines are usually structured in order to be able to distinquish what should be included in a bug report. Alternatively, understanding of QA jobs and the ways the technicians work and report bugs. Capable of actually trying to test and reproduce issues! Here are the Codemasters' requirements for a temporary job as a QA Technician (but obviously not everything is said there, as how you conduct yourself in interviews also matters)

2 pointsIt will be the same exact game with the exact same bugs plus some new ones in the new modes.

2 pointsFunny that Codies could put Goodyear's logo on the liveries of the Benettons B194 and B195 but not on the actual tyre

2 pointsHi All, thanks a lot for the help. I found that my steering wheel was not updated at the latest revision. I did the update and I found also the settings to put ERS in manual mode. Now everything is fine. Thanks again, Gian Claudio

2 pointsTo be honest this year isnt for me.That hype around My team with few boring custom templates and fictional sponsors isnt interesting for me. It looks like no love for simraces again like tire/susp model, triple/vr support so ye maybe next time
-
2 pointsBe patient. Give it a few more years and it will be once more included in F1 2024 as an exciting new option! They did that with split screen so will probably be the same with coop as well.
-
2 points“We’ve also added new modes to enable more casual players to get up to speed more easily. Lol they kidding? Everyone want more simulation so codies make it more arcade.GG
