3 pointsHere's a little quote of an Interview with Lando Norris: F1 2019 is ‘too much like an arcade game’ which is why real-world drivers prefer rival titles such as iRacing, according to Lando Norris. Speaking to viewers on social media yesterday, Norris compared F1 2019 with iRacing and other popular motorsport games. He said the official F1 licence and popular PlayStation series Gran Turismo are “too much like arcade games. "You don’t drive them anything like you do a real car,” Norris explained. “iRacing is more like a simulation programme so you have better feedback through the wheel, it feels more realistic, basically. It’s more like a simulator in terms of how it feels through the wheel, the set-up changes and stuff. “Whereas F1, Gran Turismo – especially Gran Turismo, Gran Turismo is terrible, it feels nothing like a car, you just slide everywhere. It’s rubbish because of that, that’s why no one does it.” Norris, a prolific simracer, is one of just six F1 drivers who entered the official Virtual Grand Prix series which was launched this year. However technical problems thwarted his effort to compete in both events, and during the latter he removed the game from his system. He did so after broadcasting a conversation with Max Verstappen, who criticised the official F1 game series, and has not joined the Virtual Grands Prix. The game’s handling is “why Max doesn’t play”, said Norris, “because it’s nothing like an actual car. Whereas iRacing is a little bit like an actual car.” “Would I recommend F1 games to serious racers?” he added, “No, iRacing or rFactor.” However Norris is due to return to F1 2019 to take part in the Race for the World series to raise money for the pandemic relief effort today. So if i would be codemasters and read something like this, i would try to bring the people the closest reality of being a f1 driver. This is what it is Always in the commercial and press releases. But therefore and as the official f1 game and esport game its not worth it as this if you read something like this. Just one little note there. Official esport should be forced to drive in Cockpit view. I dont get why people drive with the tv pod. Yeah you See more true but for esport a 3 screen Setup should be no Problem and then u dont have this Problem. It's So riddiculous that u are faster with the tv pod. There should be an option to force Cockpit view. But anyways i hope that this Arcade Thing will change in the future. I read so many posts here who are Always about the handling, the Arcade and so on.... And Yeah i know that its for All Kind of players and its okay. But therefore there are the assists. You can play with them if the "sim Mode" is too hard. But that would be a game change, if the official f1 game bringst "really" the closest experience to be a Real f1 driver (oh Yeah and laser scanned tracks would be great) Hopefully All this get to the devs and they overthink the concept of the actual f1 series🙂

3 pointsIt would be great to have the option that we aren’t forced to be a driver but can hire a 2nd driver and just watch the sessions from a spectator point of view and maybe manage the drivers‘ race strategies.
-
2 pointsSadly true... Another Thing is the ERS as i mentioned so often before and surly just add a virtual mirror as every other racing game. With that its just easy to force Cockpit view

2 pointsI think I might actually try an idea like this. If you don't have to drive, you could have a career as a team principal. I might actually use career mode for a change.
-
2 pointsThings I hope to see in the My Team: I don't want to be forced to drive the car myself; and if sim is an option I hope the sim software is fair to the player; unlike where if you sim in career mode the result doesn't match what you could have done and teams are out of place. Ability to manage the race "from pit lane" instead of simply sim'ing the sessions. Because as I said, I feel like I want to treat this like a true manager game and not be driving my own car. Ability, if you do decide to drive, to retire and hire a 2nd driver and be managing both drivers races. (Even if sessions are only sim-able and not manageable I'd like to see the ability to retire and run 2 drivers) It would be fantastic if the My Team could be linked to the standard career mode in the sense of car development progression and driver transfers. (Player choosing to import from a career mode save or new career with standard 2020 teams and performance) I want those things because how I would really like to play this game is to be a Prost or Stewart career simulator. I'd like to drive in F1 independently with other teams and then when I retire as a driver I can jump straight into my team and build the new team on the grid. Being able to do so with the data of my career mode save being brought over, so it organically feels like I retired and became a team principal for a new team in that same universe would make this game incredibly next level. Allow the option for me chose if I want to drive a year or 2 for my own team before retiring as a driver, or allow me jump straight into it as a retired driver and hire 2 drivers. I know this could be a good bit of work knowing that not a lot of people necessarily want to play it this way (play one mode, and then import data to continue game play in another mode); but I feel if this option were there a good number of people would be into it. We've heard a lot of this passively as the game gets stale after a few seasons of career or the end of season 10 is unsatisfactory; but packaging it this way would really allow you do a lot more in the game (and stay fresh) without discarding all the work you have already put into the game.

1 pointI'm a first time poster, long time reader, and Dirt Rally 2.0 is my most played game for the year – I absolutely love it 😃 I’ve been thinking about what I want from the next game and I reckon Codemasters should focus on more unique kilometres per location and increased stage length. I would love: Next gen game engine that can support stages 30+ kms long 3 times as many unique kms per location (roughly 60 kms each) A single game that is expanded over 3-4 years (the seasons for DR 2.0 have kept me coming back all year) The biggest issue I have with the DR games (and Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo / WRC 8) is the lack of stages per location, there’s far too much repetition to feel like a real rally event. Ideally Dirt Rally 3 should include all 290 odd kms that are already in DR 2.0 and add another 40 kms per location. DR 3 should include all the current locations from DR 2.0 and add 2 new locations to give us 14 total events (Kenya and France are my picks). So let's talk stages. I love that the current stages are based in reality, and using Rally-Maps.com for inspiration, here’s some ideas for DR 3... *Note - I didn't identify the real world locations, kudos to the Dirt sleuths here, here and here. Stages highlighted in red include DR2.0 locations. Dirt Rally 3 - Launch Content Monte Carlo - 60.5 kms La Bolléne Vésubie - Moulinet Clumanc - Lambruisse Sospel - Breil Sur Roya Sweden - 59.37 kms Vargåsen Torsby Fredriskberg Argentina - 60.2 kms Copina - El Cóndor Amboy - Yacanto Tanti - Mataderos Wales - 60.96 kms Hafren Sweet Lamb Maesnant Clocaenog Main Brenig USA - 61.52 kms North Fork Pass & Beaver Creek Trail Dayton Cougar - Windy Total Launch kms: 302.55 Dirt Rally 3 - Phase 2 Content (12/18 months after Launch) New Zealand - 60.19 kms Whaanga Coast Mititai Burnside - Wech Access Germany - 60 kms Panzerplatte Long (cut down to DR2.0 section - 23 kms) Mittelmosel Sauertal Poland - 59.78 kms Stare Juchy Baranowo Orzysz Kruklanki Finland - 58.16 Ouninpohja Horkka Oittila France - 59.73 kms Valinco Désert des Agriates Calvi Total Phase 2 kms: 297.86 Dirt Rally 3 - Phase 3 Content (12/18 months after Phase 2) Greece - 60.61 kms Ghymno (actual DR2.0 stages are 19 odd kms) Pissia Loutraki Spain - 59.09 kms La Figuera Bot Guiamets Porrera Duesaigües Australia - 60.8 kms Welshs Creek Newry Wedding Bells Kenya - 80.12 kms Soysambu Malewa Loldia Kedong Total Phase 3 kms: 260.62 Overall Total kms: 861.03 So... that's plenty from me 🤣 what's on your wish list for Dirt Rally 3?

1 pointSo there's a lot of issues with pitstops, but one that we DO know how it is caused is this one: 1. A description of the issue: What happens is that when a driver who for whatever reason doesn't want to continue driving, he of course retires in the pits. That is the most sensible thing to do. It shouldn't cause a safety car as putting the car next to the track might, and that's where the car needs to go eventually anyway. https://clips.twitch.tv/CorrectFamousCheddarTBCheesePull Here a car (the racing point) does just that. Now half a lap later his teammate comes into the pits, and watch with horror at what ensues: https://streamable.com/1jd073 As you can see the pitcrew is still walking on their way in, except the tires. they are already waiting. then it takes an awfully long time for them to glitch their way back and start servicing nicolas' car. A clear example of how a race can be decided by glitches. retiring in the pits should be as seamless a process as possible and not influence your teammate in any way. This also highlights another issue which is that the animations are taking way too long, double stacking is totally unviable whereas in real life a 4-5 second gap means there's hardly any time lost. 2. What version of the game you are using 1.22 3. Game-mode? Unranked invite-only. (League race) 4. Are you able to recreate the issue? If so, please include recreation steps on how you encountered this issue. It happens (not always in the same manner) often after your teammate retired in the pits. A fix would be to just have the pit crew not react to a retired car. have it disappear as soon as it's in the grid box. and reset the pit crew animation so they are ready for whatever comes their way. 5. How often do you see this problem? Is it the only time or does it always happen? It takes someone to pit regularly soon after his teammate retired so. Doesn't happen every race. Happens way too often still. 6. Have you tried any troubleshooting? We recommend the steps here as a starting point for any issues. Please let us know what troubleshooting methods you have tried while creating this post. I've scoured the entire readme (which is as close I thing as I could find to a manual) but didn't find anything game related in there. Nothing that makes me think the person who wrote that is aware of any issues with this game during online play. 7. Any accessories you are using (gamepad, wheel etc) Both people involved use wheel. There is one pad driver in the league I believe. I don't think that had any effect on proceedings. 8. Any screenshots or video of the issue? If the video is long, please include a timestamp for when the issue appears. The video's are already provided above.

1 pointI'm not that great of a driver however if this series had a manager mode built similar to the "Motorsport Manager" game on pc I would definitely buy it. It would be great to have a mode that allows you to navigate the game from a management prospective while still being able to enjoy the graphics watching the races and giving team orders. hiring drivers and other team members while dealing with financial decisions as well as practice, qualifying and race day decisions would really open the replay value of this game and it would open the game up to the "management" gamer types (which has a huge following)

1 pointIn an ideal world, instead of each team expensively jerryrigging some old ugly sim like RFactor for their own purposes, they'd all come together under the guiding hand of FOM/Liberty/Whatever to create a shared sim base with CodeMasters (or a competent racing game developer of your choice if you don't think they're up to the task) so everyone can save money using the same laserscanned tracks and a heavily configurable/extensible physics/handling engine that that can scale from proprietary realtime airflow simulation and controlling million dollar simulators all the way down to running on a console with a gamepad. I really think it could be done and would save millions while creating a better game for us, But it won't happen.

1 pointAn actual F1 driver said the cars feel "squishy", "feels like you are on jelly" today. I agree with him, cars feel heavy and unresponsive IMO.

1 pointToo bad those "many other games" aren't racing games, whose devs, knowing the importance of low latency and a good multiplayer experience, added the possibility of hosting races on dedicated servers. Poor attempt to defend the fact that F1 still has P2P, trying to point out that many other games do, except racing titles, which have dedicated servers. Even MotoGP 19 has dedicated servers!!!!!! Codies wake up, it's 2020, give us the damn dedicated servers. Or admit once and for all you just copy paste the games and don't listen to your customers. Still having a laugh at "the handling that our simulation players love" while pro drivers are bashing the title exactly for its handling and unrealistic physics
-
1 pointI feel it is incredibly likely that the races themselves will not be manageable as a 3rd party. Judging off releases, and that's why they want to make you the driver. I hope to be wrong as well. But what I really hope, in the least, is that they will make all sessions sim'able and have the sim'ing of races be fair to the player's character/team, which isn't true in past titles. I don't think it'd be too much to ask to put in that you can hire 1 driver and drive yourself or just hire 2 drivers at any time and sim races. Asking to be able to import data from a "standard career" is a big ask I know, but it would put the game over the top being able to link modes in this way to continue game play. Last note for now, I fully hope driver transfers are a thing in My Team, because there would be a lot of fun to be had in bidding on drivers to come to your team vs. others and watching the grid change in this way.

1 pointThe fact is, you have more precision especially when you break near the other, more perception of distance and more more more pros. I don't understand why VR in racing game isn't a standard. Yes, i know, not all gamer can buying VR but now there are a lot of less expensive solutions.
-
1 pointStill very early but we know most likely there won't be VR support. It would be great if they give a reason why not....but most unlikely..... Anyone have any guesses on the percentage of VR users?

1 pointThis is sooo true, I literally went on f1 2017 this weekend, and its so much more enjoyable and easy to drive rather than 2019, its way to understeery and just to numb as you said, even the 2018 handling model was and is still way more enjoyable than 2019!

1 pointupdate: the day before yesterday my friend received finally his A rating. Now he can join to my ranked lobby....(25%) BUT...there is nobody else :D Yesterday he had no time to play, so I deperately waited for 20 mins....nothing happend man! Nobody, literally nobody joined me there... At the same time: europe has million unranked lobbies....where I was kicked out before i could choose my car....***? So I had to search for a "good and fair" lobby for another 30 min or so....Then finally I found one: qualifyed 6th of 20, finished 1st....after the race there were only 3 guys including me left... wow.... so i closed the App and turned off the PS4. So this game makes no sense for me to play anymore, I have the platin trophy and all the items unlocked... no goals, no lobbies, nothing left anymore
