After last week’s F1® 2020 Announcement, we are delighted to offer you the opportunity to join us for another year of our F1® Beta programme. We’ll be road-testing our handling additions and alterations, the new split-screen feature, as well as the online multiplayer section of F1® 2020, as we look to continue to improve key aspects of this year’s game. Applications for the F1® Beta Programme are now live, and will run until 06/05/2020, 23:59 BST. To sign up to the closed Beta, you will need to head to your profile page. To get there; click on your forum name in the top right corner of any forum page and select “Profile” from the drop down menu. When on your profile page, click “Edit Profile”. You should be able to find the Beta Sign up area after the Social Media section. Please confirm that you are applying for the correct Beta, read and fill everything out correctly and make sure you have access to the email address associated with your forum account.

Attempt at a joke, right? Codemasters have approx 700 employees. Quite a few on the racing games, they also bought/acquired and got the talent from Evolution Studios (PS2 WRC Games, MotorStorm and Driveclub) and now Slighly Mad Studios (NfS:Shift, pCars). It's really not a small company going over 70 mill GBP in revenue in 2019(Fiscal Year) ending on 3.7mill GBP in profit. That's not small studio numbers.

Hello @PJTierney, Today I posted a hypothetical question to the followers of the World Rally Enthusiasts Facebook page. I also shared the post in the 'DiRT Rally' Facebook group. The question was, what people would like to see in the possible future title of Dirt Rally, if Codemasters were to continue the franchise and release a new title. I promised to convey a summary of the results to the attention of Codemasters, so in this respect, I would be most grateful, if you were kindly to pass these few screenshots forward to the person at Codemasters, who is responsible for game development in the field of rally simulators. I would really appreciate your assistance on this matter. We got a really massive response - a lot of comments. I fully understand that there are many limitations and factors that determine what can be developed and incorporated in a game. However, I didn't want to filter the comments, and judge what is possible and what is not, as I'm not in a position to do so. Hence, the summary that I have drafted based on the comments, fully reflects the response from the 'field', so to say. I have strived to highlight those issues, development ideas and location wishes that were mentioned most frequently in the posts. In addition, there's also a list that contains a sample of those cars that players would like to see in the possible future game. There were so many wishes on different cars that I only managed to produce a sample of these into this summary. The summary is subtitled as follows: - Racenet - Pacenotes - Game options - Car features - Location features - Other comments - Wishlist of cars - Wishlist of locations Here's the original post: "Let's play a round of '𝗔 𝗛𝗬𝗣𝗢𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡' game. IF Codemasters were to decide to make a new version/title of Dirt Rally 2.0 (let's call it a working title 'Dirt Rally 3.0'), what would you like to see in this game? Post your views below in the comments section. In order to keep it short and sweet, 1) Pick ONE CAR that you would definitely like to see in the game; 2) Pick ONE LOCATION that you would like to have in the game; 3) Pick ONE FEATURE that you would like to see developed or added in the game. I will compile the answers, list them down and post them to the attention of Codemasters. Let's see what kind of list we can produce! Thanks already in advance for your cooperation. Cheers!" Here's the summary - 7 photos in total. With best regards, Andy from the World Rally Enthusiasts Facebook page

My friend did a great experiment for a class in university. He went to a mall, set up a plain table with a rock on it with a hand-written sign that read: "Rock: $5" No one bought the rock. The next week he went back to the same mall, same place, with the same table and rock. Only this time, he had a nice white table cloth, and a fancy box on which he placed the rock. Beside that he had a sign (professionally made) that read: "Rare Igneous Conglomerate: $49.99" Sold in 10 minutes. "Smartfood" popcorn is NOT smart food. But dumb people, really are. 🤣

How about we start by adding a few Toyota cars in the game? 😂

@BarryBL If I could add some experience of what I have seen to be the KEY FAILINGS of PREVIOUS BETAS (17, 18, 19) To all the participants The quality of your feedback is important - if I look at a sample of bug reports posted in the TA forum currently, it is very NOISY! It will not win you favour by trying to find the most bugs. It is not a competition and there is no prize. It helps if you complete the bug template, every time on a new bug, and you state what you have tried to prove it is a bug and not just a kink in your setup. Replication is important. It helps if you can confirm and add evidence to exisiting bug reports. You can even disprove them, or say how you found a solution. It helps if you do not jump in and out of Multiplayer lobbies looking to race elsewhere or when you crash out. Spectate and rejoin the session at the next race. Stay connected. We do not need endless posts about people's thoughts about the game. It is a BETA. You will be asked your opinion so save it, and take the opportunity at the end of each focus period (usually a week). Far more chance of it getting read then, than lost in hundreds of (hopefully) quality bug reports. Look for similar bug reports and add to them. Find and confirm bugs in your current game are fixed! To the moderators (keep reading participants) Sorting the wheat from the chaff - merging threads and deleting (or dumping posts) is key to retaining focus. I hope you have some kind of standard message to send to a user informing them that their post has been removed due to being incomplete, not contributing or spam. Consider removing those from the program that have difficulty signing up. It is no good having people who cannot communicate what they have found or are not technically minded enough to do the simplest things like sorting out emails and usernames. In the end To be a beta tester you should be able to produce diagnostic information; the Report Code a dxdiag, a crash dump, hardware settings file the ability to take and share screen dumps, post video to email or share privately (not unlisted) on YouTube (visible to only yourself and the Codemasters beta e-mail address) a detailed description of how to recreate the issue DO NOT sign up if you just want early access to the game - you will be disappointed, the game is not usually made fully open, you will get specific modes and be asked to use them for a period of time. If you can find and quantify ONE bug during this period it will be helpful. If you can confirm TWO others, that's great. It will not be open all the time, you may have periods where you are locked out. PS4 users have previously snoozed the game to get around this. Don't bother posting errors, they don't count because the condition is not normal. It has been general that you have been granted access to play according to the time you log in. Codemasters, I suggest if you can somehow log people out of sessions automatically once an hour has passed beyond the sign-in cut off that would be good.

***IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YOUR APPLICATION - PLEASE READ*** We have had reports that the gamertag question was unable to be edited. This has now been resolved. Please go back into your profile and BETA Access application form and update this when possible to be considered 2 of the checkbox questions require ONE answer only to be selected. Selecting more than this will void your application. Please ensure that your selections meet the criteria before closing to avoid disappointment. As a gentle reminder, it is on you to make sure your application is correct and accounted for. I don't mean to be harsh, but there won't be enough time in the day to check everyone profiles 😄😄 😄 If I do it for one, I'll have to consider doing it for all. Hope you understand I suggest possibly logging out of your account, logging back in and checking your information has saved as a general rule to make sure. Also, do note that replying 'Done' is not necessary. Assist to @UP100 on this one 😛

Hey all. Anyone think the damage model in 2020 will change from 2019? Why Is it either from wing damage or wheels off. No rear end damage is possible. Also do you think realistic punctures could get involved? As punctures currently only happen at 100% tyre wear as far as I'm aware.

"NEW and IMPROVED" Works every time. The last product was never defective, the next one is always superior. Heck if you just tell someone a product is NEW they'll want to buy it. Cough cough Apple cough cough 😄

Albon: Codemasters are gonna love that Norris: NOT REALLY... so how many REAL drivers are just humiliating CM right now? Are those the SIMRACERS who also love YOUR HANDLING MODEL? it must be just so humiliating and embarassing to hear this out loud from actual drivers, if not, well... then their heads are deeper in a place where the sun don't shine than I thought🤣🤣🤣 and well, leclerc isn't just some driver but a huge talent which drives for one of the most iconic teams in F1. It's not an Grosjean who thinks Ericsson hit him. if i was a dev and my product is beeing so destroyed by real drivers, I would do anything possible to make the next game something that drivers say ***! This is awesome.

Like I keep saying: Hulkenberg! He has tons of experience, has knowledge of recent cars and handling model, and has always good feedback. plus when even HE says that driving without TC is like driving on ice, I would take his word 10000 times over anyone at CM. Davidson is outdated. Button could also be an option, but when someone is available who raced cars with the same downforce levels, you'd be stupid not to ask for his input

    - Much more detailed filtering on leaderboards. Per car class, per car, per nationality etc etc. Look how Raceroom does it. - Let us set steering rotation in the setup for each car.

Same-o same-o. It's been failing here and there, but nothing that could be fixed with a few tries. But now I got really stuck, and in a league that I've been waiting for weeks. Please have this fixed, but I mean for real this time. By the way, this is PC, not PSN.

What about the drop that is happening right now? And almost every day for that matter?

Well, I never thought I'd see someone get mad at a game including local couch multiplayer, but here we are.

We support that ^^ For example, for a qualifying event in clubs and final live this is something we also ask for... 🙂

I get what you’re saying, but also, it’s a €60 - €70 game (on release day). Personally I wouldn’t want to play a career mode littered with microtransactions, when I’ve already paid full price for the game (I wouldn’t mind dlc-packs). Anyway, it’s still too early to tell, we’ll just have to wait and see. I’ll just wait for the reviews this year.

Yes, and as I said above. I don't believe the complete removal is correct. AFAIK the only ballast limited in position is the 80kg assigned to the driver seat.

the big problem is pad users have better traction. off the line they get very good starts and out of slow corners. i get most players are pad users however if soemone on a pad is faster than a wheel user due to hidden assist by a big margin then that needs fixing.

Must express my undying love for Phil Mills. His voice is like the rally equivalent of sweet, lilting folk music. Not to argue against other co-drivers being used, but I hope Mills is retained at the least.
