8 pointsHi everyone, Another Thursday, and another something from us to whet your appetite for F1® 2020. Max Verstappen’s Red Bull Racing car and Circuit Zandvoort. A match made in heaven, and now here for you to check out in all its virtual glory for your first look at F1® 2020! The Dutch Grand Prix™ was due to take place this weekend, and whilst the real-life action on Zandvoort has been postponed, we’ve got a treat for you. Circuit Zandvoort is a unique circuit, with those steep banks, and, of course, that final corner. It’s a track steeped (if you’ll pardon our pun) in history, becoming an official part of the F1® calendar in 1952, and holding grands prix until 1985. 2020 is the year it makes its hugely anticipated return, and we can’t wait to race on it virtually, before the real-life cars do. “The team has done an incredible job in recreating every aspect of the circuit. The banked final corner heading into the long straight is something players are going to enjoy,” said Lee Mather, F1® Franchise Game Director here at Codies. “Circuit Zandvoort is highly technical with height variation, blind crests and unsighted braking points and corner apexes. It’s an onslaught on the senses and doesn’t give players a moment to rest.” We hope you enjoy the first-look at F1® 2020 in action. Zandvoort will be the first track on next season's Forum Championship for sure 🏎️ 🏁

6 pointsHi @weisiAUT, Again, I think a few conclusions have been jumped to here. We are adding accessibility features into the game, as an option, for new players to get used to the nature of the games that have historically been more difficult titles to pick up and play. We've made no statement on your 3rd sentence as we are still in the early announcement stages for 2020, with more in-depth details to follow as we get closer to release date. I would disagree with your statement on "working for the wrong part of the customers", we are working for a wide range of players to interact with a game. As players get used to a game, naturally, they have to remove assists and help to be quicker, more competitive, and to ultimately get more enjoyment from the sensation of driving the fastest cars on the planet. New players have to start somewhere and this is a part of nearly all modern games. Take, for example, Call of Duty: Warzone, that, quite correctly, have extensive training missions with AI, and talk you through what to do to practice and get used to the mode. Then, once you are comfortable, players get harder (human), the map gets bigger and the whole game becomes more unpredictable. If you just stay in the training missions with a low level AI and someone telling you how to win, you seek more challenges. To bring it back, the accessibility features are there to help the newest of players gain confidence in negotiating a circuit, driving near other cars and getting through a race in one piece. Further in-depth details of the game are yet to be announced, and I'd recommend keeping track on the announcement to be up to date on anything new with F1 2020.

4 points***IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YOUR APPLICATION - PLEASE READ*** We have had reports that the gamertag question was unable to be edited. This has now been resolved. Please go back into your profile and BETA Access application form and update this when possible to be considered 2 of the checkbox questions require ONE answer only to be selected. Selecting more than this will void your application. Please ensure that your selections meet the criteria before closing to avoid disappointment. As a gentle reminder, it is on you to make sure your application is correct and accounted for. I don't mean to be harsh, but there won't be enough time in the day to check everyone profiles 😄😄 😄 If I do it for one, I'll have to consider doing it for all. Hope you understand I suggest possibly logging out of your account, logging back in and checking your information has saved as a general rule to make sure. Also, do note that replying 'Done' is not necessary. Assist to @UP100 on this one 😛

3 pointsI get you, but i'm maybe just a harsh ****, but beeing nice never got people anywhere so.... i bet 99,99% of people with MASTER "skill" level are using assists. These are the ones who outbreak you on the grass or go full throttle where its impossible to do it normally without TC, and so on. putting a cap on it is also a good idea, max 3bronze, want to go up? Git gud. Learn to develop some actual skill. now the term "SKILL" level is more an indication of who's assist user. having a master SKILL level when using assists totally brings down the value and meaning of calling it SKILL level. It's just condesending to the people who actually took the time to develop actual skill in whatever way whatsoever. don't call it skill level.

2 pointsHi all, Does anyone know of code masters has any plan to make the next version of F1 cross play? I have a friend on xbox who I’d like to play with.

2 pointsHello my friends, I have a couple of ideas and thoughts I wanted to share with you. First, I want to say that unranked lobby racing seems to, indeed, be a more stable experience than league lobbies. Not sure if it's coincidence or the fact that league lobbies are (more) broken, but I think we should stick to unranked lobbies for the rest of our season. I think we put the damage modifier to a higher value (full or simulation, I can't remember) in order to encourage more safe racing. While I don't know what you guys think about this, I think it has not worked out, as I still see a lot of risky driving that too often ends in broken wings (and dreams..). So let's put it back to reduced, maybe it can reduce some frustration. Also, I've already mentioned it a couple times, I would like to swap Russia for Suzuka. Would it be cool with you guys if we could vote on the mentioned proposals? Thanks. 😎

2 pointssorry codemasters... this is the wrong way... which kind of customers do you want to make happy? babies? little children? customers who like to play F1 in style like need for speed? you still ignore the racing fans... the F1 lovers... the loyal customers who are racing for many seasons and enjoy league racing... no improvement on more realistic handling? or on realism itself like the original f1 hud (for strategy important), tyre wear, damage, mechanic failures, etc...? Codemasters are working for the wrong part of the customers - sorry but when i hear this, i am so disappointed - one more game for racing kids and not for lovers of this genre and realism... i think there could only be one reason for this decicions - money - because when this game is easy as for babies, all the kids will buy it!

2 pointsNo @AlexTT this will not be the case. I think you're jumping to conclusions a little bit there imo. Accessibility options are exactly that...options. These settings are for newer players who have never picked up the titles before. Realistically, these players won't be going near the Online mode as they will have bigger challenges in front of them. (Getting round the circuits, completing a lap, racing near other cars etc) Online lobbies in any game are always 'at risk' of differing skills gaps and abilities. For people who enjoy the game, they will want to get better naturally. (I thought I was quick at F1 2019 until @Bicarda and @Flash224 cruise past me in the Forum League, yet my weekly fights with @massa88 for lower points are a highlight of our league IMO). The aim of the assists is to welcome new players who have previously be intimidated by a relatively difficult game to pick up and play and give them help on the first step of the F1 game ladder. Then, once they have built confidence in the game, turning them off slowly will help them become quicker and more competitive.

2 pointsI finally picked the game up today in the PSN sale for £22,it was the ultimate edition. I have had a weird relationship with this game as I had it pre-ordered from all the way back when it was announced but cancelled it just a day before release after seeing footage of base consoles and feeling there may be some serious issues with the game. Since then I had kind of forgotten about it other than checking out these forums once or twice to see what progress was being made with it. Anyway,I've been pretty bored with how life is at the moment and haven't had much to play.I was looking through the current PSN sale and spotted Grid, the sale ended tonight at midnight....so I did a quick search at what the dlc content had been and saw it was all now released. I don't usually impulse buy,but given the sale was ending very soon I figured £22 for the complete version would keep me entertained for a good while. I've played a few events now and the blurry visuals I saw at launch seem to have been fixed(I'm on a base PS4),there are lots of events now and I'll only be playing single player so that's great for me. I'm playing on hard with all assists turned off and it's a good challenge for me personally,so that's also good news. I know the game has disappointed many, and for good reason with the lack of content and dodgy visuals when compared to previous Grid games.....and I played Driveclub for three months solid so I know what a beautiful game looks like.....but I have to say my first impression has been a positive one and I think I'm gonna have a lot of fun with this game. At £70 back when I had the ultimate edition pre-ordered.....maybe not,but at £22 with all the content and patches(loving being able to set race distances),I think this is a pretty good investment.

2 pointswith great disappointment the Codemasters road was learned. I expected a game that went more towards simulation but they added steering assistance and simplified off-road surfaces. They had to be made more difficult rather than simplified. In the career you should then start from f2 to make your way into f1 and the sponsor editor should follow the game of MotoGP instead of finding standard sponsors without being able to customize.

2 points13 locations is already a massive amount but the amount of road per locations is low. Imo there's no need to add a lot of new locations, what they need to do is add more unique stages per location. There's only like 20-30km per location, the rest is short and reverse versions of the same road. More stages, and hopefully longer stages too. Also improve the visuals and weather options. Though if they're going to add another location then another snow location would be nice, only one full snow location as is. Arctic Lapland Rally for example. Assuming they can make Finland look decent this time. Tarmac physics in DR2.0 aren't particularly great so unless it can be vastly improved for DR3 then gravel and snow locations should be priority.

2 pointsA LITTLE harsh maybe but the main reason there are no official servers is that they release a new game EVERY year. THAT'S the problem. If they did set up dedicated servers what do they with the old game? Just dump it, killing off everyone using or pay for a whole new bunch of servers? If you want great online racing with persistent dedicated servers you have to PAY for it as in iracing or at least play a game that doesn't become obsolete every year. That's not Codies fault that's their product line. Everyone knows that's what they do its not like you buy a game from them and they surprise you with a new one. Even though I believe most casuals, the biggest market, play almost entirely online the actual main game is focused on career which DOES work well year after a year.

1 pointI’ve been calling for Moll’s Gap in County Kerry, Ireland for a while. It has brilliant cambered sections and ends with a blast out of a junction and past a pub in a stunning setting. Most famously used in Killarney Rally of The Lakes. Manx Rally/Rally Isle of Man has some brilliantly fast yet narrow stages and more open stages up on the moors. The stage in particular that stands out to me is either of Little London or Druidale - they go through that famous double hairpin at Brandywell Cottage. I agree with Ypres as suggested above - I think it has a good mix of high speed sections as well as junctions to launch out of. The sting in the tail of Ypres is those ditches! The only other tarmac I’d like to see (regardless of how much the tarmac physics improve) is some more mileage to Monte Carlo. Some locations are fine as they are but Monte is one of the most limited in terms of the variety the real life event offers. Col de Turini is good, but there can be way more environments from Rallye Monte Carlo to give it some variety. An extra stage in Argentina is probably the next most needed to add that variety to the event. I’d also agree with more stage mileage in NZ and Wales - Dyfi in particular I agree with! As NZ is already a stage in Waikato pretending to be a stage in Hawkes Bay I think there’s more scope for Kuri Bush in Otago or one of the Whangarei stages to be included, also as ‘Hawkes Bay’. I don’t want to just say a country and say add a stage there; this is only helpful if a particular stretch of road is cited (so I fall foul with my suggestion of “one of the Whangarei stages”), or at the very least a specific rally, so the only stages I can definitely pick out are probably going to be an unpopular choice: Somewhere in England. I’m thinking one of either Gale Rigg, Cropton or Dalby in North Yorkshire or Grizedale in the Lake District. There are two reasons: 1) I’m British and therefore a little biased towards British rallying heritage and; 2) despite this likely being unpopular because there are already two locations within GB - this could allow the game to do a couple of things: both a domestic British Season before you dip your toe into European or World championship rallies and; combine them all in one to create an old-fashioned RAC Rally. My last suggestion I’m fully expecting people to not get on board with but hear me out (if you haven’t already got bored of my long-ass post and scrolled past!). Some kind of stage ‘editor’ where you pick a location, for example Baumholder. Then you pick surrounding environment, for example the thick forest of Jämsä. Then you pick the surface, for example the smooth gravel of Perth & Kinross. I just like the idea of some of the current locations but ‘reappropriated’ if you will to be another location by combining stages with different surfaces and different environments.

1 pointwhat isn't a weird presumption is that for "the official" game, the DRS zones aren't beeing fixed all year long.

1 pointI agree that you shouldn't be able to get neutral by accident. In real life it won't damage anything but it could cause a crash due to differences of how the car behaves with and without the engine braking effect. Also,if the driver selects neutral and thinks he has 1st,when he gets back on the gas exiting the turn, the car won't accelerate and could get rear ended by the trailing car because that driver expected the car ahead of him to accelerate and it didn't.That's why neutral is locked out in real life as a safety feature. It should be set up so you have to be stopped with the brakes on just as you do to get reverse because after coming to a stop with the brakes on,selecting neutral is the first step to engaging reverse and thus neutral should only be able to be selected as part of the process to get reverse.
