5 pointsAs far as I understand Rally is coming back eventually, it's just another studios' DiRT game that'll come first.
-
5 pointsIn the same way that dirt rally 2 sucks for those that want a fun, easy to play racing game? It’s quite simple, skip this game and wait for dirt rally 3
-
4 pointsIf you look back through recent titles, it is possible to have a more casual-friendly game with a decent handling model. GRID is a good example, cars are fun to drive and push hard in that, even with all the assists off.
-
4 pointsD4 tried to have 2 handling modes, and that was a mistake. They should've refined 1, whichever it happened to be. Must disagree. Driver games aren't exceptionally "realistic," but they are tons of fun to drive around in and feel great. Is it though? I seem to recall a bunch of people criticising it. Granted yes, it's much better than DR1's other than my throttle control not working at all.

4 pointsPeople need to understand that DiRT, is not DiRT Rally. They are separate approaches to racing, one is more fun and authentic, it's about the overall entertainment, whilst the other is more serious and sim-like, more about the experience.

4 pointsWe are still due for closing date and time of 06/05/2020 23:59 GMT. Then we'll need some time to find and sort the applications. I'll update everyone with the next steps early Thursday.

3 pointsBecause I think I started all this mess by asking for the DR2 handling model to be available in the New game😬, I wanted to say that whatever the handling model is, as far as you can understand what the car is doing and have no problems adapting to the controls, the main thing is for the game to be fun and exciting like Colin Mcrae Dirt 2 and DiRT 3. If it is really good then handling will not be an issue. Because anyway, I am expecting a thrilling rally simulation by Codies in the future by the name of DiRT Rally 3. So yeah there is no point in arguing about certain things that we are going to find out very very soon.

3 pointsIt’s not dumbing it down, the series has always been an arcade game. It was only the spin off ‘Rally’ titles that have been simulation (and kind of dirt 4). What is wrong with having two different studios making different games? That’s what forza does

3 pointsI remember the days when the WRC titles were developed by Evolution Studios. So much fun! Wait... Hang on... I remember reading something about Evolution Studios devs... OH OOOH OOOOOOOOOH! They're at Codemasters now working on future titles! SCORE!!!

2 pointsAs the title says....what are the odds? Who would like to see the current F1 product from Codemasters but run on the Madness engine with their tire model, livetrack 3.0 etc..?
-
2 pointsI wish you are correct here, because I had the Best times of my life with WRC II Extreme all the way up to WRC Rally Evolved. I mean, Who doesnt miss hitting retired cars on the road, or avoiding falling rocks from cliffsides? That's what unexpected moments is all about.

2 pointsDirt 2.3 and GRID were absolutely brilliant games for pick up and play. I had loads of friends that were not at all interested in racing games that would play them all the time. We used to have a blast playing them, particularly the party modes on Dirt 3 and demolition derby on grid

2 pointsCodies would lose a serious purchaser base, DR-heads, if they get wind that Dirt 5 has dumbed down the handling in a fundamental way. No way I would buy it. If I want an arcade rally game, I'd go for Art of Rally or somesuch. Dirt 5 is going to have realistic visuals, car interiors, etc. It'd basically suck for players like me with any kind of arcadish handling, and I've no doubt I'm not alone.

2 pointsI really hope that they will move to Madness Engine. This would most likely bring VR to F1.

2 pointsThe Podium/PS5 situation is getting really ridiculous. There's a special edition for PS4 and it could last less than 2 years. No updates yet. Really bad for both Sony and Fanatec. Currently I have the CSL Elite and I would buy the Podium today if it was guaranteed as PS5 compatibile. The workaround would be changing the future plan and going from PS to Xbox. Xbox products are already compatibile. It has been stated. And i'm not the only one in this situation. Essentially Fanatec could lose a podium user that would be happy to buy today or either Sony could lose a future PS5 user. I think Sony has to speak or decide quickly. If they cut the CSL and/or the Podium out of PS5, it would mean that the new Xbox is the console to buy for sim racers. I'm actually scared. Having the TGT as the only compatibile wheel at launch would look bad and sound like "we're only here for Gran Turismo and its wheel". I hope they have clear that GT alone is not enough... I think even the average sim racer would say "**** Gran Turismo, i go with Microsoft"

2 pointsI think another issue is the stages themselves. Dirt 2/3’s stages were very open and forgiving and suited the handling of the cars, whereas that handling wouldn’t work as well on dirt rally’s stages. I feel if you have arcade handling you need arcade stages, and vice versa.

2 pointsStewart Grand Prix team late 90s with good ol Johnny Herbert & Rubens Barrichello. Just because it was a plucky British team with fairly limited resources. I like being the underdog! Plus I've owned Fords and I used to bank with HSBC AND owned a Hewlett Packard printer! 🏦😉😎

2 pointsI think I’d bring back the Jordan name and it’s iconic yellow, black and red colour scheme on it’s best liveries
