5 pointsWill be around a week @baboonJay, depending on a few factors: Amount of applicants I believe is the highest we've ever seen Working from Home and 'My First BETA' could make the decision process a little longer while I make sure all is correct. However long it takes for me to get the list together and the right candidates. Successful applicants will be contacted via email

4 pointsCome on guys! Stop asking where the rally content is! 1) Dev letter on Monday spelled out that Dirt and Dirt Rally had split dev teams, allowing Rally to be more focused and Dirt to be more focused. 2) Dirt is not a Rally game - Dirt Rally is a Rally game. 3) If you want to be pedantic about point 2, Dirt is not a stage Rally game. 4) Dirt Rally is a serious Rally game under the Dirt franchise, Dirt was never a serious rally game. It's pure, offroad fun. Stop expecting and wanting things from a serious Rally game to be in a fun offroad game - i'll be looking to pick up Dirt 5 if i can because it looks like it'll be a blast - i'll be still eagerly awaiting the next Dirt Rally because that's where my heart is but i fully understand that Dirt games (not Dirt Rally) are not Dirt Rally games.

4 pointsAnd also, I’m not going to reveal anything about DIRT 5 that isn’t already out there. I will say one thing though. Did you notice the Ford Escort RS Cosworth in one of the screenshots? Wondered why the DiRT Rally 2.0 version got entirely new engine audio a year after launch? There’s your reason, new recordings 🙂

2 pointsYou can see Grand Canyon style rocks in the logo next to the Baja style truck jumping. Also, I see Citroen are getting a mega plug in this version of the game albeit it's availability in the US market where this game is targeted for. Can readers here and gamers understand that possibly, this version of Dirt or this series of Dirt could be a boost in profits for Codemasters, a larger market in sales; to now be able to invest and work on the next series or Dirt/Dirt Rally games. Perhaps we're going to get a few requests granted in the next Dirt Rally.

2 pointsI did a thing today. Removed front bumper and nose cone + rad support of my gf's Chevrolet Caprice. I also gave bunch of tools to my gf and told her to learn how to use those. She want's to learn and I'm more than happy to teach. She did so well today, eventually she can say that se built her car by herself. Our main goal is to get rid of that POS Oldsmobile engine and replace it with 350cid small block chevy + fresh transmission. Also that car needs some new metal (rust fixes) as some parts of it looks like it was lifted from the sea, right next of Titanic.
-
2 pointsSounds good to me. A racing car engine should sound like what it is. A mass of over engineered metal parts bolted together around a continuous stream of barely controlled explosions. Highly flammable liquid is sprayed into that hellish metal couldren along with its favorite buddies, air and multiple sparks. The resultant cacophony is a chemical party gone wild screaming with almost uncontrollable power as it celebrates only inches behind your back. Vacuum cleaners need not turn up for the audition... 😎

2 pointsyeah, looks like it won't have any official connection to the World RX Championship if there's only 10 locations. Dirt 4's was more than solid imo personally, I'm most excited to be able to play 4 player split screen (in career?!). it's going to have stage rallies. chill. why would they alienate the core fanbase of the series? they haven't shown anything about it because when you introduce a new game, you first want to show off what is new and interesting about it. stage rallies being in Dirt games is like parkour and Assassin's Creed: pretty much guaranteed (Showdown excepted, and look how well that did).

2 pointsWell, the teaser was a kinda hint (color / style) the game would focus on a more fun note. If I have an impression now, It seems a bit of a mix of DiRT 3, combined with Forza Horizon. Maybe an off-road style version of GRID. Although I don't like GRID, I did like DiRT 3. So we will see. The only difference with DiRT 3, is that D3 was both serious/fun, while D5 shown as fun and a bit over the top game. For now it's not a "day one" buy for me. But that could ofcourse change when more info will be given. * Btw, funny to see the old Mustang with a American flag. Is that a subtle 😉 towards Wreckfest? Cars I did notice (bold is new) GT - Aston Martin Vantage - Ford Mustang (classic) - Porsche 911 RGT Buggy (sorry, i am not familiar with them, but noticed different styles) - Ariel Nomad - Style 2 - Style 3 Rally - Citroën C3 R5 - Lancia Stratos - Ford Escort RS EDIT: Nice to see Sean Bull Design being called in for the livery designs. He is a great proffesional artist.

2 pointsNow that they have clearly split the "DiRT" and "Rally" series, I'm wondering if they will make the DiRT Rally 3 logo, cover art and UI more "clean" and minimalistic. Something like Colin McRae Rally 3 would be on point:

2 pointsNew game, new track with everyone's eye on it now. Would be the perfect opportunity for Codies to show everyone how good they can be. Would be amazing for players of other games to say "wow have you seen the new Zandfoort in the f1 game? I wish we had that version in OUR game..".

2 pointsIn the same way that dirt rally 2 sucks for those that want a fun, easy to play racing game? It’s quite simple, skip this game and wait for dirt rally 3

1 pointGame works perfectly in all aspects inside the HMD. All is perfect and smooth on Ultra settings. However, the mirrored window on my desktop display is showing as 2x stereoscopic viewports, not one consolidated 2D view like it does in Dirt VR 1.0. So HMD good, it's just the "spectator view" on desktop thats not right. Please help. Setup is: Win10x64 (Latest Updates) i7-3770K OC'd @ 4.7GHz 16GB DDR3 RAM MSI Duke Nvidia RTX2080 (Latest drivers 436.30) 1x 32" BenQ monitor connected on DP Oculus Rift connected on HDMI Oculus Store Edition of Dirt Rally VR 2.0, v1.8 Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 racing wheel

1 pointIf the trailer is anything to go by, I'm saying that's unlikely. But also from the blog: "The narrative features a voice cast led by the legendary Troy Baker and Nolan North" I'm tearing up. They aren't in a good place right now. I also don't know why them. I'm 100% sure Troy knows as much at cars and offroad motorsport as he does football. "partnered by the car culture heroes at Donut Media" Ugh. I hate to jump on the "dudebro" train, but that guy is rather obnoxious. Split screen is cool though, if only I had friends. Hope I can change the split direction like Grid...2 or Autosport? It's cool to have a second screen and give each their own. 70 different tracks sounds like there should be decent variety, as long it's not doing the DR thing and counting half tracks as their own location. Kind of sounds like this is what the Evo Studios guys have been working on since Onrush flopped.

1 point@PJTierney Also a little curious about the cockpit view. I know on the first video showcasing Zandvoort track you mentioned adjusting the look to apex settings to get the interior replays. Curious to know if what we’re seeing of the Spain video is the default cockpit view (which seems much closer to the wheel than previous F1 games) or if you tweaked more of the settings like the field of view etc. Many thanks 👍

1 pointHotlap basically means a lap around a circuit in this case. Also @PJTierney is more DiRTy than F1-y 😁
-
1 pointIt depends on the legality of the region and as F1 is involved in dangerous motorsport I have no doubt they will be using the most accurate data they can. We used to use laser scanned data of streets to ensure the safety of local events to comply with legal and insurance requirements
-
1 pointWhat about an improved driving model, car setup, and telemetry - to better represent the F1 driver experience...
