I'm guessing they'll save the first next-gen game to run on a new/updated engine as they did with 2015. They've probably been developing the new Dirt for a while longer with no obligation to release a new game every year. We can probably expect F1 2021 to be a bigger change and to be built from scratch for the new platforms, fingers crossed they won't repeat the same mistakes and have a fully fledged game ready for the first iteration unlike '15.

I'm not sure if I would be alone in saying this, all applies to the console only: I played project cars 1 on a gamepad, it took a while but I got quite good. When I went to a wheel it took me some time to get close to my gamepad times, but eventually was considerably faster. I've also got project cars 2 and have played with both pad and wheel but, prefer and am faster, with a wheel. With dirt 1 I was good on the gamepad, never played it with a wheel. Dirt 2 I really struggle with a wheel and am faster with a gamepad, the wheel ffb is poor in my opinion, and you have an advantage steering from lock to lock on the gamepad. WRC8 however I find better on the wheel, better ffb but my times are similar with both devices. With the f1 games I've played on both wheel and gamepad (16,17,18) I find little difference between gamepad and wheel. Ultimately I prefer the wheel with f1 games for immersion, but again compared to the likes of the "real sims", the ffb is poor. On PC, my friends rig with a wheel setup (don't have my own PC rig yet, this is my next step) there are games like rFactor and Asseto Corsa, that feel much superior in comparison to the above. Never have I used a gamepad on a PC driving game. PC2 is better on PC as you can use custom ffb files that improve the ffb feel. So to me it's a mixed bag. Pretty much all driving games can be played with both wheels and gamepads, and as long as the leaderboards and online lobbies can be filtered by input device and assists used, I can't see what all the fuss is about. Let the apples play, and be compared with, the apples, and likewise for the pears!

Infairness Id be pretty much happy with the F1 series if they for one would split all the different assists up and have different leader boards for those who use tcam or pads. Combine this with better force feedback as its lacking and its going in the right direction. The handling is ok not great by any means you have a basic feeling in the car but I cant help comparing it to Pc2 and AC now and ita disapointing.

The problem now is the realistic racing games absolutely require a decent wheel pedal set-up. I race on console but with a decent rig and I just cannot explain the difference to friends if you combine the wheel, ffb, VR if the game supports it, and a good physics based game from playing on a flat TV with a gamepad in your hands. It's a totally different beast entirely. A good example is when dirt rally 2.0 was free on PS+ last month and the amount of casuals who said it was rubbish and deleted it straight away. They probably tried to play with a pad gave it half hour and then lost interest due to the difficulty. I bet if they sat in my rig and I said you have one hour to hit that time on that stage, I bet if they have any experience in driving cars in the real world they would be engrossed by the feeling and it may well convert some people to go out and buy a sim set up for home. The overall point is it's really difficult to cater to both sets of players with the same game, and the pad and wheel users are further apart than they ever have been in what they expect from a racing title. Is it time codemasters looked at offering two products for F1 like the dirt series? Maybe two dedicated modes on the same game disk with dedicated servers for each? Is turning assists on and off enough to please both types of players now? The more realistic PC racing games become and the bigger esports gets the harder it's going to be for codemasters to stick with the current approach of one size fits all.

Lol this game isn't even out and a lot of people hate it.... Let's wait for some gameplay and for the release. I personally like all Dirt Games from Codies. The Trailer was very cool in my opinion. It looks like a mix of Forza Horizon and Dirt for me. Let's wait. I hope it is like Dirt 2 with a lot of Content 🙂 Dirt 2 was/is and maybe still my fav. Dirt game. I am very hyped for this game.

I feel F1 2020 could potentially get an enhanced patch to make more use of the next gen consoles later in the year but of course it isn’t guaranteed. Worse case scenario both the new consoles are backwards compatible so we’ll still be able to play the game on the new hardware. I fully expect F1 2021 to be a lot more focussed on making more use of what the next gen consoles are capable of but not sure whether it would require a whole new engine like F1 2015 did, but I guess only the developers themselves can answer that. I guess one question is whether F1 2021 (if they went for a June release next year) will also be available on PS4 and Xbox One, or strictly next gen only.

That's true. It was mostly their successes with those games which helped them get the f1 license if I'm right?

Honestly, of the ones listed, I'm not overly interested in. Obviously, I wouldn't say no to them either. Personally, I would rather see; - Proper driver edit mode. It should work similar to Fifa where you can edit driver stats so you can balance them yourself when they're inevitably wrong (Looking at Ricciardo-bot..). As well as that, the ability to create several driver avatars that you can add to career/my team modes if you wish and then select which one to play as at the start of career (or each race in My Team). - Failing being able to edit current driver stats, the ability to individually set the difficulty of each AI. Can be a workaround. For example, in 2019, I'd set Hamilton to 100, Perez to 97/98 and Ricciardo to 102/103. - Ability to set each teams starting R&D. So you can choose to have default or have McLaren start as the fastest team etc. - R&D as an option in season mode with real drivers with a further option to do multiple seasons. - Winter testing. - Long shot, more for the future: Classic seasons with the correct drivers. - Option for the player to have random terminal technical failures like the AI can. Options should be On/AI only/Off. Reliability R&D can affect the likelihood of them happening. - Ability to turn interviews off if they're the same as previous games. - Further expanded R&D tree.

super not into sprint cars, but they're going for the US audience again. woah woah they already have all the locations decided upon, don't get ahead of yourself. someone is bitter that they made an arcade game haha looks very similar in style to Dirt 2 and Dirt 3, so it has everything to do with the Dirt games. if it's not for you, then fine, but complaining about the colourfulness and saying it's for kids is a little childish. don't forget that some of the best DR2 drivers in the world are teenagers.

To those outside of America, here is what Sprint cars are: perhaps your familiar with it from iRacing.

but why "good luck"??? it seems to be at lucky wheel 😄 it is not the draw to receive the game for free or to play before the others. you have to work mechanically following the directions to find the bugs, otherwise we find them later in the game

Maybe 2021 because i think he upgrade dr 2.0 with new feature ( New stage , new country , upgrade physics (inertia , bump and jump effect On steering wheel ... ) correct the tarmac rain really strategy tyre, , add dynamic weather feature from D5 , add different season feature From D5 ,correct pace note , maybe he add tyre pressure setup( Exemple very low ,low , normal high , very high and if is good for the futur he add more option for dr 4 or dr5) and temperature brake and more driving effect on onboard same than dirt 2 and add new car too

You could maybe make the wait useful by trying to find a bug in F1 2019 that nobody has found before then tell Codies about it. If you DID find something new it would probably help with your beta application! DISCLAIMER!! I I'm not Codies staff so that is only conjecture sorry! 🤣😎

Since I went from 25 to 100 % I cannot imagine going back. My argument is that there is so much more strategy involved in the full race and more ways to change result around yet I still spent the exact amount of time racing. At first there is the excitement of different venues and advancing career fast but once you've seen all the tracks and then have to do them all again over and over I prefer just to relax and get involved in own race more. As long as I can do one race a day, usually practice and Qualy then a break then fresh for the race I'm fine. Comes down to if I'm enjoying myself I don't want it to stop! I saw the interlagos esport race and tbh I wish it had been full length. It flew by and kept me fascinated start to finish. It's also way easier imo to not get caught out by tire issues, takes quite a few laps of degradation before I have to pit so I can choose a good time to box. Now if it's raining the whole race that's different! I hate the rain.... ☔🏎️😂

Arcade = Physics that are made up to imitate, rather than trying simulating the real thing.

The German co-driver is still much too quiet in Scotland and the volume constantly fluctuates between loud and soft. In fact it seems to be only the German co-driver I have tried the English and French ones and with these two the volume is perfect in Scotland. I am 100% sure also because I have compared the German with two others but you can hear it yourself German Co-Driver please watch/listen again and patch PS4

Update ! I have just tried the french Co-Driver as well and everything is great ! It is only the German Co-Driver where the volume is still not right.......... just try it yourself

Car livery in multiplayer races is still bugged, it paints the car in the color of the previous one.
