7 pointsI work as a product owner for a dev team and any software company worth their salt would not purposely shield a BETA from critical customers/users (usually the opposite) as all feedback is useful, good, bad, and ugly as long as it's constructive. However the issue comes when people think that their feedback is all that matters, or they speak on behalf of everyone. Also, just because your feedback isn't directly actioned, it doesn't mean that it doesn't help form future decisions.

6 pointsWell, i see you're registered 2018 on here, so you haven't been around here when safety car was an issue, or suzuka bump, or any other bug. safety car has been fixed somehow finally, only took a couple of years. when it's every year the same, like with every patch we hold out hearts how the FFB is going to be ruined, which gets worse with every patch. That's the standard reaction when release notes drop. "Well there goes the FFB" that's not healthy right? A patch should improve things without breaking things. i get what you mean, only over here it's a completely different ballgame sir. Most of the long community have the feeling to be ignored, and CM doesn't really care about us as a community. How many community managers have there been!? Example number 1846329 and credit where credit is due, @BarryBL is IMO the best community manager ever here. He actually wants to get stuff done, and he actually puts in an effort for it and won't let himself just put in a corner. so finally someone who kicks back in the hornets nest, i think that's takes a lot of balls to say the least. and thanks to him we somehow in a little way have got the idea that we're finally beeing heard in what small way that may be.

5 pointsCodemasters please add cool down laps for F1 2020 that would make it fell me realistic

4 pointsHere's a great audio comparison between 19 and 20. What a difference, some of last year's engines like the Honda just sound silly when directly compared to the new game. Loving it, major step up 🙂 (Recommend playing this on speakers or headphones if you can, there's a lot of detail and low-end that gets lost from your phone)

4 pointsYou're providing feedback on something that you have never played yourself? I'd get feedback on visual stuff, but suggesting gameplay changes before having played said game is a bit strange, isn't it. Wouldn't it be better to wait how it actually pans out and see how the players actually feel about it and THEN suggest changes if necessary?
-
4 pointsI don't get why everyone is so desperate each year. There has never been an emphasis on making it fun like the main game. You are volunteering to help improve the game not getting it early.
-
4 pointsFrom our perspective on this, our direct feedback has been quoted by Lee (and from Lando) in the below: https://www.racefans.net/2020/05/14/how-f1-drivers-helped-codemasters-make-massive-gains-with-f1-2020s-realism/ Like stated earlier, although other games have differing solutions, we have to work on the feedback from the guys who drive them. If Lando mentions to us that these are the core changes he'd think would bring it more in line (along with other drivers), like stated earlier, I'd like to think its our job to listen to him 🙂

4 pointsThere is an irony in someone using iRacing's old hybrid model as an example of realism when it's been changed a dozen times since with its own exploits and flaws. iRacing's fixed and adaptive modes have since been replaced with a manual and automatic trim control with an additional qualifying mode. The trim control better represents how energy is deployed in these cars but it's still a compromise for not being able to properly map the track. Automatic "learns" the track similar to the changes for 2020 and automatically controls the trim, but Manual in iRacing always ends up being set to minimum trim with just spamming the boost button instead. (This is how the more relevant to iRacing LMP1 meta ended out as, too). Nonetheless it is still a compromise on how the modes on these cars are actually setup - the energy deployment is mapped to the track, and the only control the driver has are modes to bias towards harvesting or deploying more, or a neutral mode that aims to reach a target SOC per lap, with the engine modes making more of a difference -- the only special one is the quali mode that is full power and dumping as much energy as you can in the lap.

4 pointsI would drive it pretty much every time when I'd have done a 50% race/league race and it would be a really good addition compared to... ehem Multiplayer Liveries which no one uses, because we can't make our own even on F1 2020. And tbh, It should be in the game after 10 years already at this point, just for the sake of realism (they don't even have to make it so that you need enough fuel and have to pick up leftover rubber from the straights). I mean, it just feels off putting not being able to continue after crossing the finish line and I don't think it would be that hard to implement now, would it?
-
3 pointsYeah a lot of factors in play. It once told me when I pitted I would come out 8th but as I entered the pits I didn't know there was a massive crash between the Ai at another corner and I came out the pits in 2nd lol

3 points@sloppysmusic, I have, but not an awful lot. As you can imagine, I sometimes try not to think of virtual racing at my weekend as well as my week 😛 If only I was quick at it, I'd be all over it. I've drove a total of 3 laps in iRacing just as an experience thing. I don't think I have the setup at home or the personal time to invest in it. However, there is someone who has. So I have some information on it from someone MUCH more well equipped than me! iRacing in fact has far far less that what is shown on twitch, as a lot of the modules and sections of the screen are streamlabs. The most you will see in iracing is a small input meter on the left, a small frame rate monitor on the right and a screen showing standings that is changeable to fuel.etc. known as the 'blackbox'. The basic settings on iRacing are the positions and the rear view mirror. Granted, the positions are a few more than F1 at this time, but that's it. I've seen some screenshots sent from iRacing settings, and I guess its a matter of opinion and demand. From what I've seen, that far far too much. I personally have to focus on the racing, on the corners and keeping consistent to get any finish at all. I've got decent pace for our League Championship considering no/little practice every week, and I'm bang in the midfield with some very good drivers. But, I couldn't look at 10 other screens, focus on braking, worry about tyres and not bin it. Let alone racing in our packed midfield. But the bold point is right. I understand that, and we'll always keep pushing. I personally think 2020 is a massive step forward from what I've played (which is a fair amount) and the improvements across the game are there. I will raise upon release, where the final production is in and there is a solid base to work off.

3 pointsAbsolutely this. Well a compromise to the actual HUD would be for us to be able to customize the HUD to 3 initials of each driver and to extend the positions tower to as many positions shown as we want. @BarryBL let‘s do this!!! Everyone is happy then. 😜
-
3 pointsLet's hope that Codemasters has done a very good job on F1 2020 and will improve multiplayer.
-
3 pointsI've hidden some off-topic messages from this thread. Let's keep on topic 🙂
-
3 pointsWe just got confirmation that both, Hubert and Correa, will be avaliable in MyTeam! https://www.racefans.net/2020/05/15/codemasters-given-approval-to-continue-using-huberts-likeness-in-f1-2020/
-
3 pointsPushing my trigger @steviejay69. they can do ******* mental helicopters, but not a dynamic real time “session” clock at the end of the pitlane. always 2:10pm even at the night races.
-
3 pointsis it possible to view more than 3 drivers in the position table? like 10 or all drivers?
-
3 pointsI find it kind of relaxing to slow down after a long race, it's better than just losing the wheel when you're so tensed up? Please somebody think of us OLD people!, 👵😜. But yeh I turn it off for short races as it just gets in the way.. And yes I have run out of fuel in project cars on the cool down and it felt good just parking the car on the grass and waving to the fans for a minute 👋👋😉

2 pointsBazza mate, Have you ever seen an iracing race on twitch? That sim is like a spreadsheet with a window in the middle showing the track! There is a racer general opinion that you can never have TOO many stats! Of course you wouldn't force players to fill their screens with data, there would be a none, minimal, normal or full choice which you would set in preferences and then cycle through with an assigned button or key the same way we do views. In fact most of us only ever use one view so we'd instantly assign the view button to race info when we installed the game. I don't think you would find a single person who would say no I only want one view not a choice. You could also have AUTO FULL where if you turned that ON after every pass, or pit stop, or crash, or fastest lap, or retirement would put the full info page on screen for say 10 seconds. I know we might sound like an ungrateful bunch never being satisfied with new features you give us and always wanting more but... That's how together we all help to make the game better and better each year. Of course you KNOW that Bazza! You've just got beta lag right now and I totally understand that! 👍😁
-
2 pointsOne thing people have to understand is that getting the beta is a responsibility, not a privilege. Codemasters enstow a good deal of faith in their candidates to not go flaunting it around like it's a new toy and telling their friends everything it does. I mean if they were gonna do that, they may as well have opened a 3 day open beta and not worry about all these applications. If people can't respect that, then we lose it and if we keep losing it by those small indiscretions Codemasters might turn around and just release the exclusive editions to the YouTubers and no one gets the beta from there on out. So whoever gets it, be respectful to those who didn't and those who don't just remember it's not the end of the world and there is still a some remote chance you could be able to get it for the next one. I've missed out twice and I'm not hinging on 'third times the charm' if I get it, hoorah, if not it just wasn't meant to be for me. But at least I applied and tried.
-
2 pointsSo @BarryBL any chance we can get the option to customize the positions HUD to our own likes (like extend the drivers shown and only use their initials)? Come on, you are the man! You can make it work! 😜🤩
-
2 points@BarryBL We all know that we're talking about a product what isn't completely finished yet "WORK IN PROGRESS" … B U T !!! You have already some new graphics in the game what shows me that things are going in the wrong direction again… First of all that feature with official broadcast graphics should be optional / customizable, because i want to know during Qualifying while I'm out on track ..who is in danger to drop out in Q1. For that I have to go into the garage and open my live display.. Our race ingeneer is a bad guy… important informations about special Drivers I would like to ask for.. are not named. I want to see in every session all 20 drivers in the tower on the left hand side cause there are more information given than anywhere else.. Codies "replica" """"official broadcast graphics"""" are Pretty bad cluttered and chaotic. Like I said.. I dont need a second onscreen information on the top right hand side about my current position when it's shown in the tower. Lap counter / session timer and flags should be compact in one place. And again, slow sectors arent red rather yellow, cause red is a warning colour that should be shown when my current lap time was deleted due to corner cutting. The official broadcast graphics were made for spectators … right … and that's exactly why the graphics are not cluttered.. Official broadcast graphics are easy to understand, but if I look on you graphics.. don't know where to look at first… If you talk about multiplayer for example (gamertags will be cluttered in official graphics)… where is the problem to give online players the opportunity to choose three letters and a name instead of gamertags to be displayed in the graphics.. Codies, you make it too easy for yourself ….

2 pointsThis is great news ERS on 2019 was awful. Very unrealistic I'm happy real formula 1 drivers have had an influence. you only had to watch League races of the top players and there was no strategy. Everybody used 0 in the corners and overtake on the straights which was ridiculous. Well done codemasters 😁 .
-
2 pointsI actually prefer the new system as it’s much more realistic and will be easier to manage in a race now we can look at just fuel and tyre wear more often.
