Hi everyone, Mails have been sent and access granted. I'd like to take this time to thank everyone for applying. We've had record applicants this year, and it's not a easy decision for users. What I can give away is a little information for consideration next year. A great way to ensure you are considered well for the BETA, in my opinion (which matters all of a sudden) is: Posting complete bug reports in the game cycle. This is the decider for me. If you post reports and test correctly while a game is live, we'll want you 😛 Correct forum behaviour and etiquette. Be active and contribute to a forum that is a great place to be. Be constructive, critical and respectful to others. If you have a problem or an issue, think about how the information we need to fix it. Just because it's not BETA season, it doesn't mean we are not looking to improve the game.

That's fair enough. But I would say certain people had a much higher opportunity. Let's say that. People who have been picked seems to be the new account people just for beta. They themselves have been posting in wrong section and although they are not trying to rub other people's noses. That's exactly what happened. And if they clearly can't post in the right sections then it does not bode well on the choice. Its suppose to be a community but I think its more of a community for a chosen few . .I was cross referencing yesterday and I was gobsmacked to see how many had been or said they had been accepted to see they had only joined codemasters forum to get beta testing. I suppose if you speak the truth it tends to get up people's noses and you are not picked. Funny old world that. And every year dave will get in .he doesn't have to post or even come on the forum . But I will say I am never envious or negative if someone is selective. I will congratulate them and say best of luck. The above us a truthful fact .

Now that everyone in the beta has had a notification there in and have access to the dedicated forum, i dont think its necessary to keep this subforum open anymore as there is no point to talk in here. @BarryBL @1512marcel @UP100

I feel like choosing the beta testers mostly by their forum activity is fair, but be aware that a lot of F1 gamers (including me) didn't know before that this forum did exist. I learned about the forum from my friend, who also informed me about the beta. So, advice for the future: try to get more people aware about the forum.

Pad OP is being buried this year. Gives us wheel users a chance 😂

make sure that the F1 2020 Pad OP edition is released again this year. Have fun and do not turn too much, I recommend.

I'm not jumping on someone's back but I don't like people not being picked and jumping to unfounded conclusions. I'm pretty sure Codemasters made balanced choices and of course the hardcore forum visitors will be more in the picture than those who show up just before the deadline. But stating that it's a joke based on zero knowledge, that's a joke. And for your information, I had to apply, just like everyone else.
  9. 2 points
No, it's not a joke. Some can put their finger on the issue after playing the game for 1 hour and give perfect feedback. I find it rather strange that you have 700 hours of playing time and you haven't posted one single issue or contributed in a constructive way. Having joined April 25th and already judging the choices made, well that makes it clear to me...

Jack Brabham, Bruce McLaren and Graham Hill all drove for teams they formed themselves.

In all honesty, what have you contributed over the years? This is your first post and already it’s offensive.

i am totally with you odi1606... but we can forget it - we are begging for 5 years to get the official tv graphics and de full driver tower, sector colors, etc... this NEEDS to be integrated in a official f1 game... they love to ignore us (the community) because the "important" youtubers dont want it and call this "feature" unnecessesary... but in the community forums there were lots of polls where more than 80% of all participants voted for yes... Codemasters wants to make a need for speed arcade game with f1 cars - you see in features like splitscreen etc... this has nothing to do with f1 game lovers, who love something like a realistic f1 game... i am so angry and disapointed because they ignored us this year the same as the last years... WHY Codemasters???
  16. 1 point
Seems i did not get in. I shall bear in mind the recommendations of our friendly Codemasters team, and report bugs, and suggest workarounds in the upcoming game after release. Have a good one, all you successful beta testers out there, and help make this game better than the last

You know guys, instead of crying about not getting a code, you could wait until you play the full game and tell the guys about problems in that so then you might have a better chance next year. You should also post about the issues in the forum, instead of social media.

Or they slowly leave, and every lap you go past, the grandstand becomes less and less orange. 😛

@PJTierney Serious suggestion: Given this is being marketed as a more 'fun' game, Codies should allow as an option, a massively zoomed-out third-person camera. So, if you wish, you can play this as almost a top-down racer. This will draw in some players who like their first-person racing games to be realistic, and their arcade racing games to be much more top-down. Like me.

What I mean is you brake at 100 & when it start to give up, you have to find the threshold. In some games depending how it is programmed, it's impossible to give better result than with ABS as the inside front tire will tend to lock up & lose some of the front vertical load. In a nutshell... when you brake hard, you have to reach a certain amount of vertical load on the front tire before using the steering to rotate the car. If you don't implement this method... all you get is understeer. It result slower entry speed & make the nose not correctly pointed for the exit phase. The general rule is you use the front to hold the cornering during the whole entry phase. So any acceleration of some sort using the accelerator pedal before the apex point, result a massive lost in cornering speed. The whole point is to make the car rotate, while gripping, enough so you can floor it for the exit phase. You may have heard about early on power, but the true meaning is "late on/off throttle control". It's either you start to accelerate smoothly at the apex or on/off a bit later. You can experiment yourself & you will hardly see much difference in result between both method.

If I could ask Codies to fix one thing it would be the consistency of the AI. I mean come on. Surely they have all sorts of data showing how most people are getting eaten alive at Bahrain and Baku by the AI, while carving up at other tracks like Canada. Yet every single year it's exactly the same complaints seen here on these forums. They also shouldn't be making the AI faster by making their cars god tier in horsepower so they blow right past you on the straight only so you can over take them again on a corner. Would be much better if the higher levels of AI just got a little more downforce or something.

that is great example how it should work.... you can even tell the difference if you are going uphill or downhill in the WRC7 vid and mainly you can see the G-force to know how much grip to expect
