Hi everyone, Mails have been sent and access granted. I'd like to take this time to thank everyone for applying. We've had record applicants this year, and it's not a easy decision for users. What I can give away is a little information for consideration next year. A great way to ensure you are considered well for the BETA, in my opinion (which matters all of a sudden) is: Posting complete bug reports in the game cycle. This is the decider for me. If you post reports and test correctly while a game is live, we'll want you 😛 Correct forum behaviour and etiquette. Be active and contribute to a forum that is a great place to be. Be constructive, critical and respectful to others. If you have a problem or an issue, think about how the information we need to fix it. Just because it's not BETA season, it doesn't mean we are not looking to improve the game.

That's fair enough. But I would say certain people had a much higher opportunity. Let's say that. People who have been picked seems to be the new account people just for beta. They themselves have been posting in wrong section and although they are not trying to rub other people's noses. That's exactly what happened. And if they clearly can't post in the right sections then it does not bode well on the choice. Its suppose to be a community but I think its more of a community for a chosen few . .I was cross referencing yesterday and I was gobsmacked to see how many had been or said they had been accepted to see they had only joined codemasters forum to get beta testing. I suppose if you speak the truth it tends to get up people's noses and you are not picked. Funny old world that. And every year dave will get in .he doesn't have to post or even come on the forum . But I will say I am never envious or negative if someone is selective. I will congratulate them and say best of luck. The above us a truthful fact .

Now that everyone in the beta has had a notification there in and have access to the dedicated forum, i dont think its necessary to keep this subforum open anymore as there is no point to talk in here. @BarryBL @1512marcel @UP100

Hate to see you go. Bare in mind that you are just as important outside the beta and that your contribution has been appreciated. Beta is just a couple of weeks and you have almost a year to contribute and we all know that there will be input needed once the game goes life, but it's your choice which i respect. If you still want to go send me a pm and I will explain how to erase your account. Choose wisely my young apprentice.

I feel like choosing the beta testers mostly by their forum activity is fair, but be aware that a lot of F1 gamers (including me) didn't know before that this forum did exist. I learned about the forum from my friend, who also informed me about the beta. So, advice for the future: try to get more people aware about the forum.

not only this. if u have a look at some profiles, then u see that chosen people dont have a single post anywhere then here in the beta thread... and they have nothing really contributed to the game or made any proposals for the future or anything like this. and its obviously that they choose not only from what barry said. and for me personally, i think a lot of the beta testers just use the beta for early access. but that's my personal opinion.... even if i'm sure that im right

Pad OP is being buried this year. Gives us wheel users a chance 😂

make sure that the F1 2020 Pad OP edition is released again this year. Have fun and do not turn too much, I recommend.

I'm not jumping on someone's back but I don't like people not being picked and jumping to unfounded conclusions. I'm pretty sure Codemasters made balanced choices and of course the hardcore forum visitors will be more in the picture than those who show up just before the deadline. But stating that it's a joke based on zero knowledge, that's a joke. And for your information, I had to apply, just like everyone else.

No, it's not a joke. Some can put their finger on the issue after playing the game for 1 hour and give perfect feedback. I find it rather strange that you have 700 hours of playing time and you haven't posted one single issue or contributed in a constructive way. Having joined April 25th and already judging the choices made, well that makes it clear to me...

Jack Brabham, Bruce McLaren and Graham Hill all drove for teams they formed themselves.

In all honesty, what have you contributed over the years? This is your first post and already it’s offensive.

What's the philosophy behind the static camera? In the current case the driver is like a robot with static eyes. The human eye and the human brain(-"algorhythms" are) is flexibel, so that a static shaking is compensated with a smoother and concentrated view to a point in the front. The car can still shake and vibrate around this not so strong shaking viewing-line. Thats kind of unplayable. Drivers are not body-, neck- and eye-static robots. Maybe it's a bug. Changing "Camera shake" in preferences has no effect. The rest is a good game for me. Greetz.

exactly. you just know a lot of the guys in the beta now will not give feedback. they applied for the sake of early gameplay... the sort who use full assists and 87 AI and have no idea about the first thing on realism... meanwhile people who will give proper feedback on bugs and glitches, and know realism inside out with handling and track models and have WR pace aren’t accepted. a shame. needs to be less about chance and more about actually reading profiles and seeing who’s the best fit... no random picking, no accepting those who are loyal to forums, but accepting people with actual talent and an understanding of what’s right and wrong for F1 and can actually be useful...

Are all laps valid? Maybe it doesn't count if your laps are invalid but they still show up.

This week Mr. The Block beats a 13 year old girl into submission. Also, seems like intentionally wrecking the **** out of whatever your driving is genetic.

Once all codes have been issued, I will confirm on here 👍

Maybe, if the approach is to "simulate" reality the braking and handling should be tweaked. But, Codemasters employees are clever, and there must be some reasons why group B cars behave like that. It could be because it creates mysticism, kind of legend when someone chooses to drive group B 4WD (and I wonder if marketing department already studied it and decided that to make a game more attractive in that aspect, and so they positioned group B 4wd cars as the fastest). There is a myth to this day that they are "the fastest" WRC cars... because of horsepower, and aggressive aerodynamics. Maybe it is just a coincidence this whole unbalance Let it be my example, when I first entered the game Dirt Rally 2.0 I started career with a group B audi 4wd (hype, part of history, what it meant to WRC)... just because I like the brand, etc and Rallycross with the Audi... then I realized that I do not have enough time to fix the Audi Quattro when I arrived to club level... I was driving with a damaged car usually at the final stages in the rally (not enough engineers to fix it)... But because of history I went directly to a Group B car... just to change to a Lancia Fulvia then, due to free repairs

We are doing things in waves, and there's a lot to go through. If you have any updates, please keep them private for now. Respect other users who may/may not be successful

Really... I hope she gets a massive overhaul of the questions as they were so repetitive after the 4th race.

I do. I have no clue about tuning a car and I'm too lazy to find out. The tunes don't make me quicker I would say, but the cars are often much more predictable. Well, it's the same outside-inside-outside-thing like in circuit racer I would say. The fastest drivers even cut often the tracks (wich shouldn't be possible, but that's another theme for itself). But you gane more time with throttle control and late braking. Just an indication how tight the corner is. Often is it the same gear number, but not always. Really depends how fast you reach that corner and what comes behind it. The car itself is also important, if it has a turbo with huge turbo lag or not etc. The "100 hundred" just means, after the 4 left a 100m straight follows. For me, it's mainly about the experience. Sure, some cars are not much competitive in their class (like the DS 21, Ascona 400, Manta 400, 240Z, 208 T16 R5 etc.), but they are good enough to win against the toughest AI with them. I'm pretty sure it says what benefit you get, when you upgrade them. It's basically cheaper repairs und the parts don't lose "power" that quick. Most players in the top tier memorized most of the stage. They are always things I forget, but the pace notes remind me then. Out of my head I only know the critical parts and some "special" areas you can easily remember.

Just a bump to agree with the topic. And to repeat the above assertions that this is not a request for anything to do with VR. It is a request about the non-VR cameras.
