Happy days! My PC will probably be minimum spec by then though!

Really interesting to see how Codemasters plan moving forward with this news. I personally think it’s great news but I wonder if they’ll want to do something accessible similar to the F1 games for the WRC series, and also continue the DiRT Rally series at the same time for a more more hardcore sim experience. I can imagine WRC might have seen how popular the F1 games are and might want a similar kind of game to bring in new fans. On the other hand with them having the licence it might give them freedom as well with DiRT Rally to use more official cars and locations so everyone wins. Will be interesting to see how they approach things.

Well this is fairly substantial news! Absolutely overjoyed this has finally happened! Congrats to the Codies team past and present, that have made this happen https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/codemasters-has-secured-the-official-world-rally-championship-license/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

The current cars are MAD and I absolutely love them, I was mainly talking about the current state of the Championship. We must also consider that COVID-19 will surely not do well to the finances of teams and that in 2022 the current cars will be replaced by Rally1 cars that are supposed to be more economical but also less advanced.

It looks like your CPU does not meet the minimum requirements for GRID as its CPU Instruction Set is too old and does not have all the required instructions used by GRID, unfortunately this is not something we can fix. It is likely you'll start seeing similar problems in other modern games as time progresses, a hardware upgrade is recommended, but I can understand this isn't an option for everyone

This will not happen, sorry. For various reasons which I will not go into here, it is not possible to modify the AI driver details in DiRT Rally 2.0.

I really hope that for the future Codemasters WRC games, the Evolution Studios guys can have some effects and features from the older WRC games they made back in the early 2000s. For example something like the unexpected moments from WRC Rally Evolved, or the start/ending ceremony from these games. Also, it would be cool if they added a Historical Events mode in the game, just like the one in MotoGP20.

Yeah, it isn't the greatest for manufacturer support at the moment but, that said, I absolutely love the current specification cars! Just imagine taking a current specification car on some of the DR2.0 stages...

Codemasters, please put another patch in. I set out to have a clean and fair race every race I go into. Yet 95% or more of the time, there is always one or two that set out to ram you no matter which division you are in, for example S, A and B. I never retaliate and yet I get penalised when people ram into me by losing points. Do you intend on putting this horrible trophy/achievement into F1 2020 too?

Numbers are impossible cuz it's part of licensing, it's the same thing like with damage, we don't get numbers like you say cause it's part that is fixed to certain driver and I can't be changed

I think in the future there will be two Codemasters rally franchises: World Rally Championship (basically what Dirt Rally is now but with official WRC license) and Dirt (arcade rally, gymkhana, rallycross, Forza Horizon-type of open world stuff etc). They can put classic rally cars in the WRC game. And if they deem that the 13 or so official rallies is not enough, they can always include classic rallies from WRC history such as Australia, China, Jordan or Poland.

Hybrid cars still have a fully functioning petrol engine. The cars will sound the same as they do now.

@lastbreath I will tell you what you found: the game still looks terrible, but now cars are driving on mirrors, so you can see the terribleness twice.
