4 pointsYeah thats right seve real years by the way and it was one hell of a race. The reason for the gap I just have not been in a top car since red bull in the 2013 game and I always start the next game with the contract options for the teams I got end of season on the previous release. I also race on 100% bar two races in all this time so I dont get many seasons in on a game usually and match the difficulty as close as possible with my team mate although kimi has destroyed me most of the time! Anyhow I am in a sauber and had an awful qualy in the wet finishes 19th which was 7 places behind Kimi who is magic in our 9th best car lol i start last though as gearbox needs replacing. Hungary race was normal dry and I only pick my way up to 16th but theres a safety car as Bottas has retired but I had put medium on 8 laps ago so I stayed out whilest alot of other put on soft. I lose a few places to the guys behind on fresh rubber but continue and annoyingly (at the time) I am rold rain is due in 15 minutes despite it meaning to be a dry race so this was the 10th rain effected race so far! With this in mind I decide to not pit as per the strategy and go on holding out for the rain and theres light drizzle on lap 46 when vettel DNFs (5th dnf this yeat from him) so another safety car. The tracks not ready for inters but after a lap at practically driving normally (even under safety car) I pit for inters and come out in 14th place and join the cue. In restart most of the cars pit for inters but apart from norris and stroll who stay on drys so I am able to pass these and build a gap with 21 laps to go I am not leading the race with Russel somehow in P2 16 seconds behind me and hamilton in third on his tails. Hamilton passes him fairly fast although took him a lap longer than I expected but hes 15 seconds behind on inters as I am but he at this point is catching by 8 tenths to 1 second a lap. I put my head down expecting him to be close with 3 or 4 laps to go and he reeled me in 10 laps to 10 seconds I was going as fast as I dare 5 laps to go rains harder and the gap stabalises for 2 laps and I reckon I am in clear but theres a charge with 2 laps to go hamilton is 2 seconds behind and I almost lose the car on turn 6 (thank you ffb) with one lap to go theres 8 tenths in it and hes fast on the straight I have to defend 3 corners from the end and 2nd to last corner he goes slightly a head but I have inside line and hold it at this point he hits my rear and my heart goes! I GO wide but he goes across the grass I stay ahead by a good 3 seconds end and go mental as I cross the line! The team sound very normal about this lol but what a ******* race. Was my first race on a 34 inch ultrawide 1440p with a curve after playing on a 21 inch 1080p monitor for last 4 years. Due to how real I play that win felt insane! I had to share my story ☺ No assists cockpit came G920 wheel full races.

3 pointsHaving the co-driver tell you how long you got left on the stage if you get a puncture. Being able to see how much penalty everyone had in their stages Being able to see how much and what kind of damage you got after a stage even if its not a service stop. I assume the drivers are allowed to take a look at their car after a stage?

2 pointsI figured I'd share this with the F1 community because you all know how tough it is to not only be good, but to do so for 13 laps with trembling arms on the first few laps lol. I have to say I never thought I'd see a top ten finish but there I am proudly in P8. Congrats to the others on the board that are both ahead of and behind me.

1 pointSee if I can recreate any basic liveries of past real F1 teams. If not, I'll go with my personal colours, deep navy + red, like I did for all the cars I own in GRID.

1 pointthank you for your answer i think i will take F1 2020 on pc the key mapping for the steering wheel and better than on xb1
-
1 pointYes you can. I have lower specs than that, and still play everything on high resolution.

1 pointIn my opinion the shortcuts would be for League Race Stream good, because you don’t need to open the window to change the settings.

1 pointAi is indeed strange in DR2. I breezed through open club and pro, got really challenged in elite, and masters is nothing like other racing games i played. It's like go stupid_worldrecord_fast or go home. It may be a good thing for a video game. I am not complaining. But when i look at fast wr runs and i compare them with real life wrc driving - wrc is way slower. Is it just me? I can get a stage win in masters if i had like 20 time trial runs in that very stage. If i had enough time and motivation - i could've done enough test runs and learn enough stages, but since there's no motivation and that is somehow unlike real rally as i understand it - i choose not to go through all that grinding.

1 pointThanks for posting your steering, throttle and braking setups. I currently don't play multiplayer but wondering why your solo/multiplayer specs are different?

1 pointWelcome oupaton. I too am a noob to racing games that isn't in the first flush of his youth. (I'm 61). I tried the F1 game around 4 years ago and probably didn't give it enough playtime before deciding that I didn't have the aptitude for racing games but I have to say that since getting the F1 2019 game I'm hooked. And I too am researching driving and set up techniques so as to ( hopefully) improve. Greetings from an overcast Yorkshire, UK.

1 pointI think there are several reasons for it. A) The club-website is absolutely awful in terms of searching for a club. You can't even filter the clubs by members in it. If you could at least filter all clubs out of the list, were less than 10 members are in, you would have 90% less clubs to look through. B) The pandemic pushed the esport scene a bit it seems. So many clubs at the moment with long going events and prizes to win. So not much left for a small club like this. Players don't have the time to compete in all of them. C) Very controversial now: The cockpit-view restriction is maybe a point, that keeps players away. I am ok with it, but if we want more players, we may have to re-think that part. D) 6 long stages and 1 short one every 3 days may seem pretty much for some. But I really like that event format. E) The restriction to 1 car per season could be also a point. But I think that's pretty important and one of the best parts of that club. F) Some regular players didn't start in that season for whatever reason (maybe because of B). I have extreme problems with the S4 Rally in Finland. The jumps are just ridiculous. The car smashes on the ground on at least 3-4 jumps on Hämelahti and I can't control the landing properly. My rund will most probably a disaster. And because I forgot to post it until now: Argentina was a small disaster 😄 I remember a 10 second time penalty for an early start in SS2 followed by crashes. On SS3 the car was already pretty heavily damaged and to top that I got a puncture midway through. In service area I could only repair the engine, radiator and turbo and still got 10 seconds time penalty because I had not enough time. Several other parts were still damaged. SS4 to SS7 were pretty good, but the damage on the car made it a bit wonky at times. Wales was ok. No really big mistakes, only 1 or 2 times I crashed slightly into the ditch against a tree at low speed in the first leg. The car was surprisingly pretty heavily damaged, but I could repair everything. No real mistakes done in the whole rally, but I had low grip all the time and my runs felt pretty slow. Had no chance against @baunau here, even in sectors were I thought being pretty good I was a second or so down. But it was a huge close battle with @Dytut all the time and really fun. Had a VERY good first sector in SS7 with more than 4 seconds in front, but lost control after the 5 left after the second water splash and came off the track right before the hairpin. Managed to recover quickly and finished without more issues. Finland will be a nightmare 😄

1 pointmate the f1 games have been more arcade types of games ever since they first came out when sony used to make them, and tbh if you dont like the team stuff play solo or if your looking for a realistic f1 sim play iracing or assetto corsa, f1 is the only game i actually enjoy playing cause its not to hard and i can have some fun. and CM dont really make sim games so i dont expect them to go full sim now.

1 pointI started a custom championship yesterday and I'm already enjoying it more than career. I've put the difficulty at a level where it's a challenge to do well, but I'm not always in the bottom half after doing what seemed like a decent time, as was happening on Pro. I dig your "have no life" comment... 😂

1 point@BarryBL I tried the keyboard on PS4 and these shortcuts don’t work however you can use the F keys and the arrow keys to get everything done. So keyboard does work to an extent.

1 pointThe Metro runs were tricky, but fortunately the last one is on the same Stage as this so teachings carry over.

1 pointthe schumy version needed real events. For example, starting in 1991, do a spa qualification session trying to beat a set time. Then with Benetton 1994 to fight with hill in Adelaide, with that of 1995 to do an event at the spa in the rain with schumy forced to defend himself with dry tires against demon Hill. Ferrari f310 (1996), Schumy's first victory with Ferrari (I'm an Italian, a Ferrari fan and I'm proud of it), an event in Barcelona under water. Ferrari f1-2000 event in suzuka against mika Hakkinen's mclaren, f2004 event in spa with the victory of the seventh world championship. Ferrari 248f1 (2006), china event, schumy's last win in Ferrari. All schumy's rivals with their cars also had to be included, a sort of story mode that would please everyone. if you need a real F1 fan in the Codemasters team who can give you tips on things to improve, I'm available😂😂

1 pointI'd recommend having racing line and finding your feet on the track. Try testing at one track for a long time, as the gains you will see will be based on your driving, and will translate track-to-track. I'd also recommend the base settings on your controllers for now as they are a solid base point. Remember, sometimes to go fast, you feel slow. Things like smoothness and consistency are problems for about 80% of all our drivers (me included!). Just practice, it comes with time. Then consider dropping down braking assist a little. Try and learn on 1 circuit first. At least then you'll get used to the flow of the circuit, so you can focus on driving. Auto gearbox to begin with too is important, especially at early levels.
-
1 pointSlow down. Start driving a track as if you are on a regular roadway, then slowly increase your speed each lap. Best way to learn a track. Then once you feel like you've reached your peak, watch some videos of fast hot laps, watch their lines, watch their speeds into corners and start trying to adjust to make more speed.

0 pointsCompleted SS9 of Solberg World Cup Wales over the weekend thinking it was about to finish on Sunday, in 314th position. Absolutely pushed in this event but kept cool, headed into SS10... perhaps 2kms from the start, an off! Technical Damage! Had to retire and left in 548th place. To end the season like this sucks, I hope there will be another! If I had finished in 314th out of over 15,000 that would have been grand!
