Here a little article from racefans.net George Russell says he is surprised by the improvements Codemasters have made to how cars handle in F1 2020, the upcoming new edition of the official Formula 1 game. Russell revealed on social media he was “shocked” by the improvements he felt in a version of F1 2020 he played recently. The will go on sale on July 10th. “I’ve recently played the new F1 game and it was super-good,” said Russell in a conversation with Sergio Perez. “I was really surprised.” Perez, who entered the F1 2019-based Virtual Grand Prix series for the first time last weekend, described the difficulties he had getting the car to turn the way he wanted it to in the previous game. “It’s all in the downshifts,” said Russell. “You’ve got to use the downshifts at the right time. It’s so difficult in this game. But the new one is really good, none of this stupidness is there.” The game developer Codemasters say they have made several changes to F1 2020 based from feedback from drivers such as Lando Norris. The McLaren driver previously said he would recommend serious racers play iRacing or rFactor instead of the official F1 game. Last month a Formula 1 spokesperson indicated the sport could offer an official simulator game in the future. If this is true, then it seems like u did a great job guys. I'm very excited for the 7th of July 🙂

@Chris2468 As I stated in my previous post on this subject, featured events are more frequent during the off season. We are getting deep into then original F1 2020 schedule (attached below) and have very few off weekends. Also, this is the "Multiplayer" section of the game. Most of us want to race real people and not the AI. The chances of having a featured event drop a lot during the season. If you purchased F1 2019 after the start of the 2020 season, almost a year has gone by since F1 2019 was released. There has been 16 featured events over that period, which was plenty of chances for you guys to clear this achievement. I'm sorry if I seem harsh, but you coming to the table to late in the one year life cycle of the Codemasters F1 series. My best suggestion is not to wait until the F1 2021 season starts to purchase F1 2020. There's about two more off weekends left before the release of F1 2020. After that F1 2019 will be collecting dust along with my copies of F1 2016, 2017 & 2018. I do wish you good luck in completing this task. I do understand how you feel when you want to complete something and can't.

Interesting, very interesting. Definitely something that needed reworking and sounds like the input from the real F1 drivers has been invaluable for Codemasters.

I spied a post from CM (think it was on Facebook?) about the success of the team working remotely. With that in mind, I wonder when we can expect the final update for DR2.0 and if there is any significant content coming in the "surprises" that were mentioned?

I was reading an article on realsport101 about the Renault career mode and I came across their idea of implementing team orders. "The best way to bring in a viable team orders system would be to add it to the long list of things you can radio into Jeff during a race. The main one will be requesting the #2 driver to move aside, but you could also request a different strategy option or tell your #2 to run long. These would bring a serious benefit to being a #1 driver somewhere and even make you seriously consider staying a #1 at McLaren over being a #2 at Ferrari, for example. There would also need to be penalties for being an insubordinate teammate. Maybe your pitstops would be a little slower, or the team would take an upgraded part away from you like we saw happen to Mark Webber at Red Bull. All of this would add to the realism of career mode, while you could remove the function for online races." (Click here to view article) It made me think about how much team orders would add when thinking about moving teams, would you be given a chance to win at Ferrari or Red Bull should you become their number two driver? I am sure the developers could add this as a on/off system in the game for those who wish to run such a system. I think Codemasters are making the right steps for F1 2020 and who knows, maybe they have implemented this feature for My Team but we are yet to get details on that. I hope this is something they are considering though. I've seen Paul Jeal mention before that they have many ideas such as a pre-season test but it just isn't time for that yet. There isn't much they can add to the base career mode except small improvements each year and I think team orders would be a subtle one that would add so much to the game. Please feel free to make your own comments and ways in which they could implement the feature.

No they are indeed gone. I raced yesterday and they weren't there. I've raced there two weeks ago and they were definitely there. I was the first car on track yesterday so it is not possible that someone knocked them down

On my case I'm playing without any accessory (just keyboard) and 1.22v... Anyway, I've tried a file validation and now is working, probably a file was corrupted

There used to be the option to set how many flashbacks you had available for a session up to a max of 5 and when they were gone, they were gone. I personally really liked it. It's pretty unlikely you'll get 5 AI borks even in a 100% race and it removes the temptation to just use them all the time. I don't remember which game it was where it turned into just an on/off option but I really do wish they'd bring back the option of limited flashbacks, it's a good compromise to me.

@Mike5500 Try drawing them on you screen with a sharpie!!!!! I think peanutt2000 is correct though. They may be smaller and hung on the left fence. If my memory serves me right.

Oh god SLAPTRAIN???????????? Can I turn voice off now? @JZStudios I don't know who this other guy is, but is he just another YouTuber? Back to D2, the banter during a race was a little corny but I easily ignored it. At least those guys all raced for a living, and who doesn't like Travis Pastrana, crazy, but seems like a decent guy. I am just going to try to shut up from here on until I see some in game racing videos before I make any further judgements. Everyone has thier likes/dislikes when it comes to who they can tolerate. I watch Hoonigan Garage, MIghty Car Mods, and channel called Subi Performance - a German guy that gets way excited about precision engine building. I guess for me it goes like this: If you use voiceovers, hopefully its done tastefully and not while racing. Also, I am getting older, what didn't used to annoy me, now does. Though I watch a lot of Paw Patrol, DinoTrucks and Speedracer with my son (2yr old) so I am bridging the gap some.

Everybody has a skill ceiling, but many perceived skill ceilings can be broken with new knowledge. Seat time alone won't make a driver significantly faster, but seat time along with active learning and analysis can help enormously. To anyone struggling, I would recommend first watching the DiRT Rally School; there may be some basic things there that you've overlooked. Following that, check out the more advanced tutorials from DiRT Rally and then the Team O'Neil Rally School. Bonus, watch this:

That will be the simulated pollution from the f1 cars, formula E doesn't pollute so there is no haze. Can't say f12019 ain't a simulation. 😁

For obvious reasons he's uniquely qualified to make these comments, he might be the best of the real life drivers in F1 2019 and he still thinks it's bad, his comments about 2020 do give me a lot of optimism.

Anyone who tells someone to "just practice and get better" doesn't deserve anything more than a childish comment, takes someone with a childish mindset to even tell someone that without even knowing their living situation. And some people simply won't get better beyond a certain point. If everyone could just practice and get better infinitely, there would be no reason for top drivers/sports players to get paid a lot lol. And just because someone isn't great at a game, doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to enjoy it. I've set top 100 times on some stages, and top 1000 on most in R5 class, so this isn't bias speaking, I just genuinely don't like people who tell others to "just get better" and I think they are some of the worst members of the sim racing community.

@andry9611 I went through and looked back at all my trophy's. If you count this past weeks Baku GP. Since the release for F1 2019 I have 33 "GP" trophies and 16 "featured events" trophies. They lump the regular and classic GP's together. Even if you said 17 regular GP's + 16 classic GP's + 16 featured events, you get 49 total events. I may have missed a few in the year that F1 2019 has been out. I feel Codemasters has done a good job in giving us a equal amount of each of the three types of events. Please keep in mind that this is the "multiplayer" section of the game. Most of us join the weekly GP's so that we can race against real people and not the AI. I feel that Codemasters gives us the featured events to fill up the winter off time when there is no racing. The last featured event was the first week of April, if that helps you out any.

Kyloton Games has been rather notorious for releasing a game and having about 1 month of support for it then dropping it and moving on. I wonder if this will change once CM takes it over. The Dirt team seems to listen a little better, but there are only so many resources available to support a released game when there is another to be released in another year. I don't play F1, just not my thing, but how does CM work it out over there? I know its a different team/studio, though.

Well, considering it's supposed to be (C)ommunity (A)ssisted (R)acing (S)imulator i'm not even sure how they can call it Project CARS any more because, as has already been officially quoted, it's not 100% simulation and from here on in you can completely forget about any future development being community assisted.
