8 pointsOne. Last. Time. The final Virtual Grand Prix is here, and we’re marking the occasion with something special. Today, we’re focusing on F1® 2020’s new split-screen mode by showing off a three-lap race from Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, featuring Valtteri Bottas’ Mercedes and Lance Stroll’s Racing Point. The Canadian Grand Prix has been a staple since the late ‘60s, and the race in Montreal has been a regular occurrence in the F1® calendar since the late ‘70s. With well-known features such as that last chicane by the Wall of Champions, and of course, groundhogs (which commentator Anthony Davidson unfortunately knows all about), the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is a firm fan favourite. For more social play with your mates/sibling/rivals, two-player split-screen makes a welcome return to F1® 2020. We’ve captured this in-game, and the race doesn’t just show off split-screen, but also shows several corner adjustments and aesthetic changes made to the Montreal track. This Sunday, F1® drivers, including George Russell (who’s looking to secure that Virtual Grand Prix Championship), return for the final Virtual Grand Prix on F1® 2019. You’ll be able to catch this all live on Sunday, 14th June from 5pm BST, with the F1® Esports Pro Exhibition race, before the Virtual Grand Prix gets underway at 6pm BST, on F1®’s YouTube channel. 4 pointsThe real drivers don't get to hear Martin Brundle or David Croft during a race, so I'm not sure how this would make it more "authentic".
-
2 pointsMore of the car models are in. Looks like one player can use driving aids and other not. I like the "part of the track is cloudy and part is overcast" thing. But why is Montreal so hazy? I always think of it as one of the brightest, most colourful places, here it looks like somewhere in industrial China! The haze/fog definitely adds to the realism, but only if it's similar to what you'd see at the real life event 😁

2 pointsI cant anymore racing on wednesday due to work. Friday is better. Waiting for F1 2020 and new season!

2 pointsHi @WestHam66, In season 1 of your career, any F1 engine wears out very quickly. As you upgrade reliability, you'll see less wear on your engine. Your ERS drainquickly because you have to upgrade it in the engine department. The more upgrade, better reliability/ ERS.

2 pointsman these were good old days... 100% Race after 1,5 hour of racing suddenly you get an electronic, engine or gearbox failure in the last lap and your race is over....damn that was hard but really appriciated the race finish. Sometimes you could save it and go to the pits....

1 pointTitle. I just picked up a Valve Index and find it ridiculous that Project Cars 1 and 2, Assetto Corsa and Dirt Rally 1 and 2, just to name a few have VR support while the game that allows you to adjust the simulated "look to apex" camera movement, F1 2019, does not. Guess what game still doesn't have VR support as of 2020? F1 2020. But they added a few more tracks? You want my money it's going to take more than increasing the track number by one or two. No VR support in 2020 is 100% unacceptable. Edit: I guess I need to buy VorpX for $49 and say goodbye to the game being optimized (as VorpX is very CPU intensive) just to play this is 3D? https://youtu.be/aPrWuVNFCv4 This isn't a solution, as you can see by the comments below the video it has limitations, it's onl 3 DOF etc., native VR support please. Here's what F1 2020 could be like (with better graphics), maybe I should just get whatever game this is as they are more deserving of my money having incorporated native VR support: https://youtu.be/1c8hCERK2io

1 pointOne thing the game has added over the past 3 years is more realistic lighting which is great, but one of the side effects is the fact the game always looks hazy. I watched both the Formula E esports and the F1 esports yesterday and while the F1 game had better graphics its always looks like they are racing in fog. I really think codemastres should try and fix the haze issue that's been around the past 2 games and is still in F1 2020. Heres a good example this is what the e sports looked like in clear weather Baku, looks like fog lol @RedDevilKT Can the team take a look at the haze in the upcoming F1 2020 game Compared to real life just some heat haze in the middle no fog style haze effect

1 pointHi all, so I am in my third season now, but I never faced a mechanical issue. Can "we" get engine blow ups or something like this as well? Or just the AI? The only thing I had was once that the gearbox lost a gear. Seems like as soon as you develop the yellow string in your F&E this never can happen right? Thanks for feedback

1 pointWho else is missing the orange army at zandvoort? The track looks good but i am pretty sure there will be thousands of Orange fans. Maybe an idea to add atleast one part of the track where they all wear orange. Lets burn some rubber! Peace out.

1 pointI think the problem lies in that LGS uses a different named FFB dll to GHub. Know that LGS is stopped there will be no more updates. GHub is the only way forward but you should contact Logitech with your concerns. Everyone makes this a Codemasters problem when quite clearly there are other factors at play. However, as well as having a supported controller list, the PC list should be qualified by saying what software had been used during game development. Then half of the controller related issues should disappear overnight. The other elephant in the room is USB 3 and hubs. I have a dongle based USB keyboard combo in a hub off my monitor. The combo does not appear in the dxdiag but the hub does and probing / detection stops there. USB 3 works differently to USB 2 at a hardware / electronics level. It claims compatibility. That’s a best case.

1 pointI can only pick “O’Neill” Usually that’s reserved for my wife, would be odd hearing Crofty say it to me.

1 pointOk now I've bought a bluetooth dongle for my pc it works better in F1 2019. Still not perfect eg F5 & F6 turn off Bluetooth, but better.
-
1 pointIt's not worth the time investment to code that into the game. Don't use them if you don't want to use them. If you have a self control problem, use the game as a way to overcome it. Win, win.

1 pointThis might help, I started using my wheel a few months ago and now I'm capable of decent Leaderboard times.

1 pointNone what a stupid idea give us a real F1 simulation not this type of gadget for kids...
-
1 pointCheck my signature. Any kind of sim (iR, ACC, F1 20Xx) running like a charm with my current setup. FYI my previous GPU was a GTX1060 6GB and performed also very well.
-
1 pointAgree. Games in the past came with paper manuals - GP3 around 170 pages, F1 99 20 pages. Codemasters should provide an online pdf manual with an explanation of all the settings. Watching YouTube videos is incredibly time-wasting. Often a 15min video has information that could be on a sheet of paper with a couple of pics and scanned/read in a few seconds. YT is an excellent way to waste hours!!
-
1 pointCodies, just enable the spectator‘s HUD for replays and it would be the perfect solution. Online and offline.
-
1 pointMake a real simulation I dont care of making a team what a stupid idea!
-
1 pointI dont care of my team mode what is this stupid low cost (for Codemaster) new idea they have so many other things to do to improve this game!
-
1 pointI fully agree with you all. Please bring back the random engine/mechanical failures. It shouldn't be that hard to implement.
-
1 pointI guess that would be on of the biggest gaming comebacks, GP5 😉 But that was a failure which I "acknowledge" if the car lets you down you can do nothing and the race is over, hard to get but it is just an engine which can fail. better than an AI driver who you overlap and in the middle of a fast corner he hits the brakes big time to let you through and you crash into his rear because that would have been the worst position he let you through...(just happened to me in Austria, final corner 2 laps before end of race, I was leading)....there I use the flashback function then as no real driver would have done that....if the engine would have failed, ok so be it, happens in reality as well. Further I don`t get why AI has it and player not @BarryBL is there a statement why it is like this???
