Hi everyone, You all thought we were done for today, didn't you? On the back of 2 weeks of very successful and useful BETA testing, we have had extensive feedback from our current player base and we are looking at putting those into action. For BETA Week 3, with date TBC, I'm delighted to announce we will be DOUBLING the amount of BETA testers for the program!! This is due to the overwhelming feedback and our desire to test and improve the Multiplayer experience for F1® 2020. To do this, we need more drivers in lobbies, battling it out online and making sure our experience performs to standard. I have already compiled a shortlist, so please, no applications and messages to request. Any messages of this nature will just be deleted. This list was compiled over the following conditions: Previous applications completed correctly in full upon original BETA sign-up. Users record with Codemasters, having no previous incidents where adding a person is deemed potentially unhelpful to the BETA testing experience. Defined conditions on what game-modes they wanted to test. Adding Multiplayer as a priority was essential here. If unsuccessful, don't worry. We had a record amount of applications and, even with the numbers doubled, couldn't even get close to all applicants on. If you are successful and receive a code and access in the next week, congratulations. However, the current BETA standard is incredibly high. Also, remember you have been added to race in the Multiplayer arena of the game. Please get used to the new-look forum, and follow the lead of the new testers. All information will be in the forums waiting for you 🙂 . Codes are TBC as to when they will be sent out to users, we just wanted to give you as much information as early as we can! This makes Week 3 by far the BIGGEST BETA test we've ever conducted. We want to make the Multiplayer experience the best it can be, and we hope you appreciate our new effort in getting much more information and racers than ever before!

When does codemaster UPDATE the safety car, because it remains in the game heavily behind. The model that you use is from 2017. This car really needs an UPDATE!!! I added a photo of the safety car they are using now. In case you don't know what it looks like! 😜 Greetz DenyVPS

After watching the video Tiametmarduk uploaded on his 100% Monza race I need to adress an issue. It seems that Codemasters have added some very nice features in the new game, but leaving errors like this in the game is just such a waste of potential. Lapped cars are still not allowed to overtake the Safety Car when behind another driver that is not lapped, which is a huge issue because it makes a big difference if you can attack the frontrunner straight away or first have to pass someone with blue flags and it seems like something that should've been fixed a long time ago. It happened to me more than once that I couldn't attack the guy in front because there were one or more cars seperating us. I've also been the lapped car that gets stuck and not able to overtake where in reality I should be. @BarryBL Is the team aware of this and why is it still a thing in (at least the early builds of) F1 2020? Issue occurs in this video at 12:18

Yes you can pick what races you can do, you can do 22 Races 16 Races or 10 Races and you can pick the order of the races as well, you can swop in or take out races you are not good at and change it again for the next season and so on. 🙂

You can always ask, but I guess you and I both know the answer..., it's not supported. That probably makes it a HORIbel wheel for you 😉

Codemasters does this every time. The last few years I always wanted to skip an edition because I can't put that much time in F1 games anymore but then they show us what's new and I need to hit that preorder button. My Team looks amazing, it's not entirely the manager version I wanted but it looks already way better than what I was expecting. But why is this edition called the Schumacher Edition? This is the ultimate Lance Stroll edition and that's the way I'm gonna play it. Thank you codies!! 👍

Would also be nice to see the actual Rev Counter in Cockpit View , instead of the Green Lights only. How do you know where is the Magical 10800 RPM Mark on the lights for a good pull away in Cockpit view ?

Okay thanks for the source. Interesting to know.

The AI Strategy is wrong again in F1 2020, it's not real. for example in 100% race, why 3 pit stop?? why the AI with hard compound do fewer laps with Medium or Soft?? It would be great a make changes. example for 100% and 50% race: 1 pit strategy: Soft-Hard 2 pit strategy: Soft-Soft-Medium or Soft-Medium-Soft 1 pit (alternate strategy for some driver out of top10) Medium-Hard it would be nice, differentiated and realistic, what do you think ?

Probably many, however softs may not have been a bad choice. 🤔

Errm, no. You still seem to not understand that as long this is a game, that there will always people, who drive like crazy to get to the limits. There's not a single game out there, wich has at least a decent playerbase, were this is not possible. But I understand that you are up for the real rally thing, like driving careful enough to not crash, but still fast = authentic. Still possible with the mechanics in-game and still winning. I am the best example: not the fastest, but fast enough. And my driving style is probably more like yours, then those guys, who drive like crazy. I see that differently, but get your point. Restriction is sometimes a motivation. If you can decide the difficulty like you can in custom championships, what's the point of the career mode at all? It's basically the only difference and motivation: get up the tiers! Strange. On the one side you don't want a challenge, but this then is too easy for you? 1 minute penalties for 1 mistake on a track were you left the road? This would ruin rallies in career very frequently and would be much more frustrating than a too high difficulty. And: You CAN get a 1 minute penalty for leaving the track. It depends how fast you left the track and how far away you are from it, when you get resetted. I often get 10, 12, sometimes even 20 seconds. One time in Finland I got a minute because I overshoot a square left basically without braking at all. But yes, the auto-reset is annoying. Should be much more far away from track than it is like now. But then they need time-penalties "on the fly" for cutting corners without resetting the car. Or more objects on possible cuts to prevent it. Do you read what I wrote? Or do you only read what suits to your argument? I already said what they could do to make it easier for slower drivers. There is really no need for an even easier tier than open, it is just not very well balanced on some locations in specific classes, there's no doubt about that. It's already 5 tiers. How many different tiers are enough? I don't want to drive through 5 tiers to get to a decent challenge. BUT, I could deal with that, if it would be say 10. But only if the game recognises my speed after the first championship and puts me automatically in a tier that suits my speed after the first championship. And then continues on the classic way how it is now. But to be honest, I hope they complete re-think career mode anyway. I want it offline. I want a deeper career with sponsors, team-contracts and so on. One of my favourite racing games from my childhood was "World Driver Championship" on the N64. You had to sign to a team and fullfill there expectations, wich got harder and harder over time as you move up to better teams fighting for the championship at the end. And if you were on the top of the championship you got promoted into the better and faster league with new teams, cars and harder tracks. And started youre career at a new team from behind again. THIS, CODEMASTERS, IS A CAREER MODE!

I Forgot to mention I use L3 for drs also. Auto ers is ok but if you want better lap times its a good idea to use manual especially if your league racing online.

Once you've done everything in the game it comes down to running Indianapolis Oval in the Porsche 917, with the gears maxed out. At that point if you're just driving in circles for the Achievement I'd recommend turning the audio off and sticking some podcasts on. 🙂

I'm a first time poster, long time reader, and Dirt Rally 2.0 is my most played game for the year – I absolutely love it 😃 I’ve been thinking about what I want from the next game and I reckon Codemasters should focus on more unique kilometres per location and increased stage length. I would love: Next gen game engine that can support stages 30+ kms long 3 times as many unique kms per location (roughly 60 kms each) A single game that is expanded over 3-4 years (the seasons for DR 2.0 have kept me coming back all year) The biggest issue I have with the DR games (and Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo / WRC 8) is the lack of stages per location, there’s far too much repetition to feel like a real rally event. Ideally Dirt Rally 3 should include all 290 odd kms that are already in DR 2.0 and add another 40 kms per location. DR 3 should include all the current locations from DR 2.0 and add 2 new locations to give us 14 total events (Kenya and France are my picks). So let's talk stages. I love that the current stages are based in reality, and using Rally-Maps.com for inspiration, here’s some ideas for DR 3... *Note - I didn't identify the real world locations, kudos to the Dirt sleuths here, here and here. Stages highlighted in red include DR2.0 locations. Dirt Rally 3 - Launch Content Monte Carlo - 60.5 kms La Bolléne Vésubie - Moulinet Clumanc - Lambruisse Sospel - Breil Sur Roya Sweden - 59.37 kms Vargåsen Torsby Fredriskberg Argentina - 60.2 kms Copina - El Cóndor Amboy - Yacanto Tanti - Mataderos Wales - 60.96 kms Hafren Sweet Lamb Maesnant Clocaenog Main Brenig USA - 61.52 kms North Fork Pass & Beaver Creek Trail Dayton Cougar - Windy Total Launch kms: 302.55 Dirt Rally 3 - Phase 2 Content (12/18 months after Launch) New Zealand - 60.19 kms Whaanga Coast Mititai Burnside - Wech Access Germany - 60 kms Panzerplatte Long (cut down to DR2.0 section - 23 kms) Mittelmosel Sauertal Poland - 59.78 kms Stare Juchy Baranowo Orzysz Kruklanki Finland - 58.16 Ouninpohja Horkka Oittila France - 59.73 kms Valinco Désert des Agriates Calvi Total Phase 2 kms: 297.86 Dirt Rally 3 - Phase 3 Content (12/18 months after Phase 2) Greece - 60.61 kms Ghymno (actual DR2.0 stages are 19 odd kms) Pissia Loutraki Spain - 59.09 kms La Figuera Bot Guiamets Porrera Duesaigües Australia - 60.8 kms Welshs Creek Newry Wedding Bells Kenya - 80.12 kms Soysambu Malewa Loldia Kedong Total Phase 3 kms: 260.62 Overall Total kms: 861.03 So... that's plenty from me 🤣 what's on your wish list for Dirt Rally 3?

As I previously mentioned, I don't agree that the game should sound like how it sounds in TV broadcasts (as even that can change from seasons to even races at times!) but as accurate as possible to what you'd hear if you'd be there 🙂

I agree the whole replay system needs an overhaul. Would make esports and serious leagues more popular too. It's a great way to learn from your mistakes too as well as learning from better drivers how they succeed. Got your butt handed to you recently? Watch the race from the winners cockpit and find out why! ERS and fuel mapping displays as well as tire temp and wear would be invaluable.

Depends on how detailed the customization will be. If it is a bland copy & paste of the 2019 customization options, where we had to buy premade designs with either ingame or real life cash, with the only option to change 3 colors at a time, then i will surely pass and play normal career mode. But, if we do get a proper editor mode for customization, where we can fully design the cars livery, racing suits, gloves, helmet designs, shoes, team logo to the maximum extent ourselves, with the added bonus of official sponsors to choose from, then i would create a green Jaguar 2020 livery with the iconic HSBC logo on the car. Jaguar in the early 2000's was sexy!

@AScott Have you seen Lando Norris streaming the game? The first thing he did was turn off the halo, and talked about how in real life you don't see it. He said you see right through it because it's so close and you have two eyes, like how you see your own nose. If an F1 driver says that there's no point arguing.
