2 pointsAre the store description translations even provided by Codemasters? It's a bit weird to have Swedish translations when Swedish isn't supported. Definitely send in examples of mistakes if possible, as this may put pressure on the party doing the translations... especially if a translation sounds like it's done on Bing 😛

1 pointSome people say that "anything is better than nothing", but I feel that this isn't always the case. Localization for Brazilian portuguese (PT-BR) has been pretty spotty in Codemaster games. Voice over is mostly decent, but UI text is messy. The worst offender is GRID (2019) which seems that it was done using Bing Translator and no knowledge whatsoever of racing or motorsports. Unfortunately the F1 games also has its share of problems and I was hoping that after 8 years they would solve the issues, but it already got a bad start with Xbox Store description. There's text in the European portuguese instead of Brazilian (it has more changes than American English compared to British English), or even worse, swedish. That's a bad sign for what we can expect for the full game, showing lack of revision and basically no care at all. European Portuguese instead of Brazilian, and... Swedish in the Brazilian store. Nice.

1 pointTotally agree with that, wasn't really being critical of your post just trying to add context, not trying to defend Codemasters either. Piracy, the argument will rumble on forever. Pirates are NEVER going to buy the game, just people if they're given an EASY choice between a free, pirated, 100% functional copy and a paid, official 100% functional copy of a game - more will choose the free option that would have otherwise. That's revenue loss. Anti-cheat / tamper needs to be worthwhile, it's patently NOT working all that well if people can apply cheats and it IS impacting on load times for sure - it's whether or not that content scrambling / unscrambling is the cause of some of the issues, IDK. If it is, it's shameful. Just like it's for lawyers to argue who is the problem and what is worthwhile chasing over piracy, it's equally likely that accountants will decide whether or not the cost of Denuvo is lower than the potential amount of lost revenue to piracy and or any additional damages to the perception of cheating.

1 pointI've done my fair share of product descriptions' translation when I was freelancing on the internet. Nothing so big as an game description on an online store, but yeah... Codemasters would be happy to know that they outsourced this aspect of the publishing to a Bing automated "oh no we are totally legit I am fluent in Esperanto" company.

1 pointWell the way I see it the problems online are mainly there because there is no central place were everything is calculated and simulated. Every client has to trust all the other clients and they just say where they are and none of the other clients gives a hoot about how they got there. Your client doesn't even know the setups of the other cars so it wouldn't know what speeds should be possible etc. It's just a trust system and that's very bad in a game where the difference all too often is in the 0.001 regions. I get that everything should be simulated on your pc first and you'd want 0 input lag but there should be a dedicated host server that just keeps track of everything and corrects clients whenever they do funny stuff, and it's from there that spectators should get their information too. Apart from giving paying customers a worse experience, they indeed also stop us from modding the game and fixing things they are too lazy (or constraint by time) to do themselves which is a bad thing. While i get that in terms of car liveries, especially if they want to sell more stupid Haloween dlc, but they should really make everything else but the models moddable, (or... you know... changeable in game by design.) Personally i don't think it's a good idea to let your paying customers suffer for your fear for cheaters either. Small as this games playerbase is (might change if they finally fix multiplayer though) it's al community leagues anyway where people know eachother well enough and it just wouldn't make sense to try to cheat in such an environment. especially if races get streamed it will take exactly 1 race for people to be on to you and throw your cheaty ass in the bin where you belong. And to be honest i DO feel it's a job of the leagues to make sure everybody plays by the rules. Cripple your game AND failing to protect game integrity is even worse though, so they should just stop crippling. If anything it's this stupid ranked mode that makes people cheat to try hard max rank to brag or whatnot. i think your rank should just be based on all your online lap times you did. (of course very much relative to laps in the same conditions/fuel load/tires) that gives us a WAY better idea of how quick someone is and would stop kids from cheating to get high rank in the 5 lap crashmode.

1 pointIf you have access to the forum you will get a code. No point you being here otherwise 🙂

1 pointFrom the https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.redbull.com/int-en/f1-2020-codemasters-interview And it quotes How will the three customisable season lengths impact players? "We’ve always been conscious that not everyone who plays the game is massively time rich, so taking part in an entire season, while also doing full race weekends, is very time-consuming. To give players more choice and flexibility in how they play their seasons they can choose to do a 22, 16 or 10-race season. The player will have the option to pick which tracks they want to race in each season and can edit that list in each subsequent season. It will also help new players who might struggle on circuits such as Baku and Monaco. Players can now pick a season based on their skill level and add tougher circuits as they improve" 🙂

1 pointYes, that's what we are all safely assuming by this point. 1. The PS5 will be backwards compatible with the PS4 library. Meaning you will be able to play your PS4 games on your PS5 with no need to do any sort of tinkering. You just straight up boot the game and go have fun. That's our baseline. 2. There is also a good probability of your PS4 games running better on the PS5. It is still that PS4 game, but maybe the server detected your new console and sent you an update with higher resolution textures or a chunk of code to drastically decrease your loading times, something simple but highly beneficial to the player's experience. Geez, maybe the virtually-no-loading-times will happen by default, with no need to anyone pushing any goddamn patch. 3. Finally, it is possible that Codemasters have a PS5 version of F1 2020 secretly baking in the oven. Not a "take our PS4 game code here, slap a handful of tweaks and ship it to the PS5 store", no. A actual PS5 version, taking full advantage of PS5's hardware. A F1 2020 to be sold with the PS5 game case that you won't be able to insert on your PS4 by virtue of it being a fundamentally different game. I am fairly sure that "1" is a given and I am hoping that "2" will happen. But I do hope that "3" won't, as it takes money, human resources, and time to develop a game to a new platform. I'm hoping that Codemasters will let it go and allocate their resources to developing F1 2021 as a new-generation exclusive. This way we are given a 100% commitment F1 2020 with the bonus of it running well or even better on a PS5 and a 100% commitment F1 2021 to take full benefits of PS5 features instead of half baking F1 2020 and F1 2021 by splitting their limited resources.

1 pointI play on the PS4 and I use a KontrolFreek thumbstick extender in the left analog stick, bear it in mind. Also bear in mind that I am a particular kind of stupid: my main problem when steering is that when I try to go for full steering input, my natural reaction is to bend the stick to 8 (left) or 4 (right) o'clock instead of the correct 9-3, respectively. With this mechanical aid for added precision and this inherent flaw of my undeveloped mind, the calibrations I found the most useful for my driving style are as follow: Steering Linearity 6 Steering Saturation 3 I'm usually light enough on the thumbstick that I have yet to feel like tweaking the deadzone. I could happen though, it's only my second week with the game. But from a complete noob I already turned off all assists except for TC on Medium and ABS. My biggest takeaway though is to spend a couple minutes on the calibration screen and trying different inputs. I already had an inkling that my in-game steering wasn't matching my intentions, and seeing the numbers jumping around there was the confirmation and the reference I needed to tweak it all. The same goes to finding the trigger thresholds for 20/50/80 percent input – I was very surprised to how much I actually needed to press down on the triggers to get to 20% braking/throttling. The only other major change on control configurations was remapping the right analog stick. Up/Down to ERS Mode and Left/Right to Fuel Mix settings.

1 pointI remove everything, but it didnt work, i tried that also : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135 :(, I got crash... I will try tomorow with 16 GB ram.

1 pointits not really a bug, this feature is just not even implemented in the game. Its really annoying and they should do something about it. SC still not working as it should.
-
1 pointIf it fits somehow with the livery, I will try to bring Benetton back to the grid, with Mick Schumacher and Renault engine. Or I'll create a female driver, pick Tatiana Calderon as teammate and bring in a girls-only team. 🙂

1 pointforget it guys... instead of making a realistic f1 game with stunning graphics (f1 2020 is very bad for the year 2020), official hud and tv style (also in replay) and official rules, they make a kiddy game with splitscreen and more such kiddy stuff... f1 2020 is very disappointing in graphics, atmosphere and realism!

1 pointAlthough they are drivers that come with substantial backing @RPJ1984 in real-life, the drivers will still have contracts with previous teams that need to be broken, and the drivers would still receive a salary. Also, we're not quite at the level yet where if you sign Lance, you get Lawrence in your garage 😛. If we are talking about ultra-realism, in theory, Lance wouldn't move team at all because of his involvement and investment with Racing Point. Maybe in some version of the franchise in the future (unlikely tbh), but we'd want all the drivers available for you to recruit on MyTeam.

1 pointDon't get excited 🙂 Remember 300 children were encouraged to sign up by influencers. I hope people still have forum rep, or week 3 I'm going home....

1 pointDid you notice that? in various gameplay videos today,I've seen James Allison and Adrian Newey on the podium. it's good to see someone real other than drivers on the podium

1 pointI cant anymore racing on wednesday due to work. Friday is better. Waiting for F1 2020 and new season!
-
1 pointExactly what I'm looking for......especially Setup 3 in the hope that I can stay on the track for longer periods. Top speed and competitive timings aren't a priority for me......but completing a few laps without spinning off/hitting a wall or barrier is. Any more set up suggestions would be gratefully received.

1 pointJust wanted to quickly reply to this before I don't replay at all. 😉 I basically try to just have fun playing a game, so I don't want to spend hours and hours trying to find the "perfect" setups and these universal setups are exactly the kind of stuff I was looking for. Some of the settings, I have a clue what they do, others are completely Greek to me, so these setups are much appreciated. 👍 I've just tested them yesterday in Canada, because that's where my next career GP was about to take place (first career, been playing this game for one month). With the fast setup, I've improved my personal best time by more than 1 second (in a Mercedes, the previous PB was in a Ferrari). I've also had my most successful career race since I increased AI from 59 to 79 after the second career race (like I said: I only started playing this game, AI 59 seemed quite challenging to me at the beginning, but became quickly a little bit to easy - 79 seems the right choice for my skill at the moment). Ranked #8 in an Alfa Romero (could have been #7 oder #6 if one of the AI drivers hadn't ruined my front wing - without even getting a warning *sigh*). Once I've played more with these universal setups, on different tracks and in different conditions, I might reply here again. But for now, my first impression is that these universal setups are a welcome help for players that don't want to dive too deep into the mechanical/technical side of F1 racing, but are not satisfied with the game's standard presets.

0 pointsMake a real simulation I dont care of making a team what a stupid idea!

0 pointsI dont care of my team mode what is this stupid low cost (for Codemaster) new idea they have so many other things to do to improve this game!
