3 pointsAgree with what cpayne said. Youtubers could get release version few days before release (without day1 patch). I think it was like that last year, when they started their normal career/gameplay videos few days before release.
-
3 pointsThey were only allowed to upload a certain number of videos. We might seen a couple more videos but with the game 2 weeks away i think they will want to keep things secret

3 pointsI suggested the idea last year (or maybe the year before) that they could incorporate pre season testing into the game to then tell you where the cars weaknesses are, ie start off not knowing how the R&D tree looks but during testing you get to see what aspects need the most work, ie chassis for aerodynamic improvements, engine power development etc. They could also use it as a way of suggesting the ideal difficulty for the game too based on your best lap times, think similarly to the qualifying practice programme where you have to do a series of laps and it could automatically suggest or set a difficulty percentage based off the best lap time before you head off to Australia. I tweeted Paul Jeal back when we had pre season testing earlier this year and here was his response... “sorry but it’s not something in this years game but some nice ideas there & rest assured that we’ve spoken about it many times. It’s on a long list of ideas we have but behind a few others were particularly excited by”. Never say never but for now it looks as though it’s on the back burner but could be implemented later down the line in future instalments. Hope that helps

1 pointIn the MyTeam trailer we could saw newer fake sponsors that weren't in F1 2019. I marked these with yellow colour. At the moment there are 62 fake sponsors we can choose from

1 pointHe deserves a break after how busy he’s been recently. Good things come to those that wait said the great Abraham Lincoln.

1 pointI've re-sent ALL PC emails to see if they go through. Please give it an hour or so and update me if poss @Correll

1 pointWhat year are these answers? lol Hahahahaha . . . I came here in 2008 when Grid 1 hit the headlines and it seems that all the problems we had with Codemasters back then and over the years are still here ;( I was in on the ground floor with PC1 and reaped the financial benefits but it wouldn't matter how good PC2 was it would never be able to compete. Just like with Grid, an original one off is just that. Number 2 is not 'original'. In everything people are looking for that buzz of the new not the no buzz of the repeat. Good to see that Codemasters is still churning them out because where there is life there is hope 😉

1 pointOkay, maybe NOT 899 😛 If people can access the BETA forum and have not received a code, please let me know. May have ran into issues here, but I've tested and it seemed to work fine. Remember, I made the list of all 900 people, so I have a reference to check. 😛

1 pointForgive the double post, but an interesting news snippet: https://www.motorsport.com/world-rx/news/wrx-regulations-changes-subaru/4810399/ If the times at Canada last year were anything to go by, the STI could be competitive at World level. Have Vermont/Subaru got the budget for it?...

1 pointApplicants have been selected and access has now been granted to the 2020 BETA forum area for the new testers. If you can see it, you're in and waiting for a code.

1 point30 now I swear there were extra grey hairs this morning too... My surprise was epic and a lot of fun Best birthday gift ever!!!

1 pointI agree totally. The problem is codemasters and some of there staff. I've seen it on here and its blatantly obvious if you dont stroke there egos then your black listed. It's sad to see adults behaving in a undignified manner against customers and people who take time out and post and create leagues to help sell there games and in turn keep the same people in jobs. They seem to prefer gullible teenagers rather then intelligent people We live in a land where its good to disagree. It's where ideas come from. Like I say if you don't agree with certain people on here they black list you and get others around them to do the same. My god just look at f12020 beta and some of the sarcastic comments towards people who actually care and want to help . Then look at the praise given to people who have brand new account and made 2 or 3 posts . These seems to be the new customers that codemasters want. I find it small minded and shows people's intelligence and caring attitude towards others Alls good .

1 pointThe around the globe achievement/trophy was made with MP in mind I guess, as that is dead horse and you have to do it in SP which you complete far before you reach the goal off course, makes it feel more like an humongous task then when you play online every evening having fun. Also i think not all achievements should be easy to complete so it gives more satisfaction when you do get it.

1 pointLooks amazing, but please tell me there is going to be a day 1 patch which will make the Honda engine more reliable and faster than the Renault engine.

1 pointI think Dirt Rally 3 will land with a new engine born out of collaboration with SMS, most likely in 2022. The WRC game I think would make sense to me to be a refinement of DR3 with the additional cars and some added bits so that they get their platform, engine and hopefully cloud servers nailed down and working well. Then in 2024 when this first WRC game arrives I would expect to see it called something like Dirt WRC '24 with maybe some historic stuff included in a scenario style game play similar to the Colin McRae stuff recently put out. So you might find that you're knocking a Mitsubishi round Kielder in 89 as Pentti. A lot of the historic stuff though I'd expect to be dropping some coin for DLC as this is the stuff that doesn't have to be included for the game to sell, and it's what enthusiasts will happily pay handsomely for. Personally, I think the game will very much come from the Dirt Rally stable but I also think they'll factor in an 'easier to drive' mode for the pick-up-and-play gamers. As for the Toyota stuff, this surely has to bring some kind of relationship back together. I for one would love to see a Celica make its way in to DR3.. and unless Tommi has an imminent announcement to make then Toyota's WRC car will be in the new game and they will have to get along to some extent.

1 pointI've been looking at FoV as well. It occurs to me that the starting point should be when the horizontal FoV matches the human eye cone central vision where the best 3D from binocular vision occurs. This is between 50-60 degrees horizontally, to include the near peripheral vision. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peripheral_vision So at https://andyf.me/fovcalc.html, I've moved my monitor, 27.5", until the horizontal angle is 55 degrees. This equates to a monitor distance of 58.5cm. I can't quite get that close due to current set up, but it is not too bad. Having tried near 58.5cm, it is just too "busy" So now at 70cm eye to screen, wheel rim to screen 25cm. So although the central vision cone is 55 degrees, I reckon the actual cone that that you look at without eye movement/refocusing is quite a bit less. Perhaps with age the central cone becomes narrower?? With cockpit view, I've moved horizontal so that the outside edges of the wing mirrors are on the edge of the screen and added a little vertical height as I think 0 is too low in cockpit in relation to halo rim. Near Clip pane doesn't seem to do anything!!

1 pointI think the idea of adding a H1 RWD is great. Would love to see a Volvo 240 or 142. ^^ Edit: Look at these things
-
1 pointNo, no you don't have fictional cars in DR2 - you may have odd cars that aren't specifically homologated for rally, but they're all real cars. These are not fantasy car games, they're real cars and real rally, so i don't think it makes any sense to put in fictional cars, it doesn't fit. Either way, this is a cars for DR3 thread, let's stick to cars that exist for this one please 🙂
