2 points@danort17, the answer to your question is in the article itself. Quoted from Lee: Speaking during an interview with GP Blog, Codemasters F1 Game Director Lee Mather had the following to say: "Circuits are the most time intense element of the development, with each circuit taking the time equivalent of 1 year of development to create. Along with building the circuits, there’s also the AI to train, the camera placement to set-up." "F1 2020 is based on the original 2020 season and we are delighted to include Hanoi Circuit and Circuit Zandvoort. Unfortunately it is not possible to add new circuits to the revised 2020 season". Technically, its anything but doable. The circuits take an almighty amount of time and we still don't even have a confirmed calendar yet. Simply wouldn't be possible.

2 pointsHere are the results of this season: Congrats to @UnderclassGDfan for 1st, @Dytut for 2nd @Freddygore 3rd @Snoopy43 4th and @baunau 5th All of you are now eligible for the established choices, from 1st to 5th. I'd say you have until the end of Monday, I'll setup next Season on Tuesday for a Midnight launch in a week from now on Wednesday. P.S. Sorry for not much competing from myself this season, got other things in my life going on and DR2 is currently not amongst the priorities.

2 pointsHi All, We’ve made some changes to the UDP data based on your feedback. This has resulted in multiple changes to the packet structure, so please check against the latest spec on the first page of this thread to see what has changed. The intention is for this to be the final 2020 specification now – we don’t plan on making any structural changes unless a serious issue is found. We can obviously still fix bugs if the data isn’t working correctly, so please let us know if you spot anything wrong. The changes that have been made are: Beta 2: Added m_secondaryPlayerCarIndex into the PacketHeader to identify the second player in splitscreen mode Beta 2: Updated the comments in the ersDeployMode of the CarStatusData packet to show the correct ERS values Beta 3: Added the MFD panel index to the PacketCarTelemetryData to identify what HUD screen the player is currently viewing Beta 3: Added best sector times and lap numbers to the LapData packet to allow tracking of the best sector times in the session. Note: all sector times have been changed to milliseconds (uint16 instead of float) to reduce the packet size to make room for the extra data Beta 3: Added m_drsFault to the CarStatusData packet to show when DRS has been disabled due to a technical fault Beta 3: Added a Speed trap triggered event (“SPTP”). This provides the vehicleID and speed of the fastest car to pass through the speed trap. Note: the intention is to change this so that it triggers whenever a car beats its own speed trap record, rather than just showing the fastest car. Beta 3: Bug fix to correctly show front wing damage as 100% in the UDP data when wing is removed Beta 3: Bug fix to only show data for active cars Beta 3: Updated driver ID table in the appendices as some drivers were missing or using incorrect IDs Beta 3.1: Added m_drsActivationDistance to CarStatusData to indicate whether the car has passed detection and when it will be available in the subsequent activation zone (next patch) Beta 3.1: Suggested gear added to the car telemetry packet (next patch) The final two points may result in a data mismatch until the updated beta patch comes out with these new fields added. I decided to post the intended final spec rather than changing this multiple times in the same week. Thanks, Hoo.

2 pointsSame studio. There's some engine build footage for Onrush that's actually really cool, like vegetation that grows and dies. No idea if that was actually in game, but it was cool. Check out 18:24. The flowers dynamically "grow" and die, while the trees change colors and eventually leaves fall. As seasons change the track can start to snow and it can build up over the race. It's unlikely, but it would be really cool if Dirt 5 had that feature. I said it when I first saw it, but I've been wanting a game that can dynamically change seasons for a long time.

1 pointAs a Lotus Elise owner there’s no question I’ll be recreating Team Lotus and promoting Schumacher Jr into F1. I’m still undecided on the PU though, it’s between Renault and Honda. I’m now on PC for this year’s edition so I plan to mod in liveries and real logos / sponsors etc

1 pointThe German sponsors are great as well. No. 5 means telepathy and No. 55 x-shaped 🤷♂️

1 pointI've been using Iko Rein's excellent Telemetry 9.3 app from Race Department mods on a second monitor. www.racedepartment.com/downloads/telemetry-application.27456/ The time diff line by "Blue faster/Red faster" shows where I'm losing time against a previous faster lap time or someone else's lap. Mainly on corner entry. So probably too fast and/or too late turn in. It would be great for the fast video drivers on YouTube to upload their fast lap csv, then us mere mortals can see what is happening. I've also asked Iko if he could put the turn apex along the horizontal axis.

1 pointRally team is focusing on Rally. Dishing the DIRT was our way of showing the world that we have 2 teams on 2 different DIRT games. There may be conversation and interaction between the groups, but ultimately, they're both building the games they want to make. There may be some small crossover in terms of assets and such, like did you know that the DIRT 5 team's work on new audio for the Ford Escort RS Cosworth meant the DiRT Rally 2.0 version got an audio update last month?

1 pointMy 62nd birthday is coming up. I've left enough hints for my wife to get me F1 2020 for the Xbox One. I'll be gutted if she buys that 1958 Gibson Les Paul guitar.

1 pointHi everyone, Just to let people know beforehand, I'll be hiding a few posts on this one, as I think we can all agree it has escalated a little. I'll recommend the post from myself in terms of the answers to this question,

1 pointMy definition: Can you play it in an arcade? For most racing games these days, that's a hard no. Sim, "SimCade" (ugh, hate that word) and Arcade are fuzzy subjective definitions, and won't be resolved on this forum. This argument over semantics has gone on long enough I feel.
-
1 pointYeah , agreed. It just looks like the policy is ignore the issues and hope the punters just buy a newer version. Not gonna happen, literally tried for weeks, verified, re-installed, tried all the tricks. It looks broken and abandoned by the developer. I'm just avoiding the franchise in future. Its a shame as I enjoyed it.

1 pointman these were good old days... 100% Race after 1,5 hour of racing suddenly you get an electronic, engine or gearbox failure in the last lap and your race is over....damn that was hard but really appriciated the race finish. Sometimes you could save it and go to the pits....
-
1 pointseriously? ..... Geoff Crammonds GP2 had engine failures already 😛 well ok I just thought I am lucky, then this is a big minus point now for F1 2019
-
0 pointsJust because CM has the F1 license it doesn't mean they can have all the cool stuff. Possible replacements are not supposed to be in the calendar, so they might not be part of the license, that means CM has to pay extra money for new tracks.

0 pointsYou get my point, no need to give such reply again mate. Have fun with your pc copy though!

0 pointsMichael Schumacher, because he cheated for 7 of them 🙂 never won a thing. In all honesty, the current pretenders are the best drivers not to win a WDC - Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen. Race winning pedigree but their time is sure to come. More the former than the latter, just in a better position right now. They've both got 'the stuff'.

0 pointsLooks like Codemasters is pretending their old games don't even exist, the most they get on their own official forums is a single thread in a "older dirt games" section. I'm really not surprised with their immature and unprofessional attitude. After all, they're even making some stupid gimmicky "fast and furious" game.
