3 pointsI still play F1 2013 on the 360. I'd say it has the best variety of game modes; the classic tracks and cars give it a whole different dimension to the other F1 games of that generation. Plus it's the only one with Murray Walker and The Chain 😉

1 pointHello, i was wondering if there is a Pre-Season Testing in the career mode before the F1 season starts in normal career and myteam career mode. I think it is really cool if you have 3 pre season sessions on spain before the seasons starts like 3 practice sessions, so that we are be able to upgrade something before the season starts. And offcourse you need to be able to simulate them for the people that don't like it. Let your thoughts know in the reactions so that we can see how much people also wants this. That was my idea / suggestion i hope it will come into the game because it is really realistic because in reallife you have it too. Kind regards, Rik Meijers

1 pointEvening everyone! Been a long time player of the Codemasters F1 games (started with F1 2010 on PS3) and have owned all of them since. Really buzzing for F1 2020 and getting my teeth stuck into My Team 🙂
-
1 pointYou're such a plum...."Do they have GB...? No, good." Scrolled past UK flag right at the top of the game. Also, your "friends" in NI say "Ye boy".
-
1 pointIt was from Hayden Paddon's "Hyundai NZ Global Rally Series" best moment of the rally.
-
1 pointOne thing the game has added over the past 3 years is more realistic lighting which is great, but one of the side effects is the fact the game always looks hazy. I watched both the Formula E esports and the F1 esports yesterday and while the F1 game had better graphics its always looks like they are racing in fog. I really think codemastres should try and fix the haze issue that's been around the past 2 games and is still in F1 2020. Heres a good example this is what the e sports looked like in clear weather Baku, looks like fog lol @RedDevilKT Can the team take a look at the haze in the upcoming F1 2020 game Compared to real life just some heat haze in the middle no fog style haze effect

1 pointWill there be a discount for those who have the a digital edition of F1 2019 on the PS4 too?

1 pointDo you see the Beta forum section here on the forums? If you don't then you weren't selected and won't receive a key. Registration for Beta was closed well over a month ago, so I don't know what beta did you register 2-3 weeks ago.

1 pointI'm explaining that it is a feature that is not that easy to implement. If you add mechanical failures it should be done right otherwise it just a worthless feature that 3% or less will use.
-
1 pointHi all, so I am in my third season now, but I never faced a mechanical issue. Can "we" get engine blow ups or something like this as well? Or just the AI? The only thing I had was once that the gearbox lost a gear. Seems like as soon as you develop the yellow string in your F&E this never can happen right? Thanks for feedback

1 pointI think Codemasters prefer the young players. They even made a mod out of one child, how crazy is that. We used to point out where the money came from and it wasn't from the kids. So far we have got away with "off topic" far longer than back in the day but as Assie mentions maybe we should start our own thread? The problems of today are the same as yesterday but we had a more conversational approach to things, much like you see here. Imagine we are sitting down chewing the fat with the crew at Codemasters. In fact back in the day I had an invite to go visit them and discuss matters but pointed out that as a guest in their house I'd have to be on my best behaviour so thanked them kindly and declined. Point is they are still only people warts and all so there will always be flaws on both sides, us and them. The fact that they are still in business tells me they are doing something right and that of course they cannot share details of what it is so all we can do is plug away and hope that at some point more people will be happy than unhappy. We would give Codemasters stick but always buy the next game in the series until we stopped doing so and slowly they lost a whole mass of people. I'm just sorry that they didn't find another magical game which would have brought back many of those players. I enjoy the Dirt games and save myself a lot of frustration by seeing what I have got in front of me and making the most of that. I have this philosophy. Back in the 60's I spent 8 years in a living hell in the services, much of it in freezing conditions. Since then I have a great appreciation for the simplest of things like a warm dry bed every night. Think back to 1971 and the ping pong game in pubs, the early computers in the 80's, the DOS before windows arrived, the chunky early games [ the kids had Sega or Nintendo which, of course, we also enjoyed . . . particularly when 'Link' appeared]. We not only survived them but enjoyed them. We enjoyed every new innovation . . .it was like magic. Then, games got too good which turned us into too demanding. I include myself in this. But every night when I go to bed I'm reminded of the nightmare I suffered for 8 years back in the 60's and just how good those 2000 pocket springs feel now.

1 pointFrom what I am seeing on demo impression videos, people that are seasoned racers, think the game handling model is too easy even with all the assists turned off. I hope this is adjusted so that with all assists off, the game is challenging and throttle and brake inputs are more meaningful with proper feedback through the impulse triggers for Xbox One/S/X/Series X, the adaptive triggers for PS5 and FFB steering wheels. I understand that it is an arcade game but am hoping that in the launch build of the game, all assists off will make it more rewarding for counter-steering and nailing those powerslides with the right amount of throttle and brake inputs. It would be amazing if you could steer the car on throttle to some degree even though it is arcade. I am not asking for the game to be a simulation because I understand that is not the intent but even in Forza Horizon 4, throttle control while drifting matters and they implemented it rather well in that game. Also, I hope that there is something in place to prevent rammers from ruining online races. Forza Horizon 4 ended up with a clever system to stop wall riding and people using you as a brake when entering a turn. Hopefully you can use all cars on all tracks with the exception of maybe sprint cars. I wouldn't really understand the reason for restrictions of certain car classes to certain locations or tracks. Hopefully the cars have working mirrors for cockpit cam and not just silver place holders. I know that it's still 3+ months until release but issues such as cockpit lighting in Grid 2019 were brought up before release and they are still present now 8+ months after release with no fixes announced. The issues were acknowledged for Grid 2019 but now I cannot get a community manager to reply to my request for an update on the issue. I might understand being ignored if I had flamed them or been rude but I have always been respectful on Codemasters' forums. I feel a little let down with the Grid 2019 release at $79.99 for what I feel is not very much content but it makes it even worse to have known issues ignored. This game looks very promising and I am very excited for it as long as they deliver great value which for me was not the case with the latest Grid 2019 game. Dirt Rally 2.0 is my favorite racing game to date and it's because of the attention to detail, the amount of content and the amazing handling model. The community manager for Dirt Rally 2.0 is also first rate. I am very much a fan of some of Codemasters' games but it's great games that make Codemasters' name great and not the other way around. P.S. I have played DIRT 1 on PC/Steam, DIRT 2 on Xbox 360, Dirt 3 on PS3 and am currently playing Dirt Rally 2.0 on Xbox One X. I have not played the first Dirt Rally or DIRT 4. I am very much aware that the numbered DIRT games have been arcade games which is wonderful. I am glad that they are different than the Dirt Rally games and I loved DIRT 1-3. I am only asking for a little more depth to the handling model when all assists are turned off for people that want a challenge.

1 pointI've had exactly the same thing happen to me. I was battling with Leclerc at Ferrari - he got a couple of DNFs and it felt like I was being handed an advantage. It has to be optional though, so we can turn it off for the AI and/or ourselves.
-
1 pointF1 2011 is the last one with a paddock and interview if you want that. 2012-2014 had extra gamemodes like challenges and Season Challenge 2013 and 2014 have young drivers' test to determine your skill level It depends on what you want the most. There are dozen other factors as well 🙂
-
1 pointYes, so it's not just mechanical failures that make you feel 'frustrated'. The other day, I did a stupid spin on lap 3 in Hungary, and lost a wheel. Race over, completely needless, and completely my own fault. And the car felt good enough to get me into the points. I was furious. But I didn't press the restart button (I'm not saying I always manage to stop myself though LOL). So it's on to Belgium and now I need to do even better to make up for lost points. It makes the whole career more believable and meaningful to me.

1 pointHere are the results of this season: Congrats to @UnderclassGDfan for 1st, @Dytut for 2nd @Freddygore 3rd @Snoopy43 4th and @baunau 5th All of you are now eligible for the established choices, from 1st to 5th. I'd say you have until the end of Monday, I'll setup next Season on Tuesday for a Midnight launch in a week from now on Wednesday. P.S. Sorry for not much competing from myself this season, got other things in my life going on and DR2 is currently not amongst the priorities.

1 pointHi All, We’ve made some changes to the UDP data based on your feedback. This has resulted in multiple changes to the packet structure, so please check against the latest spec on the first page of this thread to see what has changed. The intention is for this to be the final 2020 specification now – we don’t plan on making any structural changes unless a serious issue is found. We can obviously still fix bugs if the data isn’t working correctly, so please let us know if you spot anything wrong. The changes that have been made are: Beta 2: Added m_secondaryPlayerCarIndex into the PacketHeader to identify the second player in splitscreen mode Beta 2: Updated the comments in the ersDeployMode of the CarStatusData packet to show the correct ERS values Beta 3: Added the MFD panel index to the PacketCarTelemetryData to identify what HUD screen the player is currently viewing Beta 3: Added best sector times and lap numbers to the LapData packet to allow tracking of the best sector times in the session. Note: all sector times have been changed to milliseconds (uint16 instead of float) to reduce the packet size to make room for the extra data Beta 3: Added m_drsFault to the CarStatusData packet to show when DRS has been disabled due to a technical fault Beta 3: Added a Speed trap triggered event (“SPTP”). This provides the vehicleID and speed of the fastest car to pass through the speed trap. Note: the intention is to change this so that it triggers whenever a car beats its own speed trap record, rather than just showing the fastest car. Beta 3: Bug fix to correctly show front wing damage as 100% in the UDP data when wing is removed Beta 3: Bug fix to only show data for active cars Beta 3: Updated driver ID table in the appendices as some drivers were missing or using incorrect IDs Beta 3.1: Added m_drsActivationDistance to CarStatusData to indicate whether the car has passed detection and when it will be available in the subsequent activation zone (next patch) Beta 3.1: Suggested gear added to the car telemetry packet (next patch) The final two points may result in a data mismatch until the updated beta patch comes out with these new fields added. I decided to post the intended final spec rather than changing this multiple times in the same week. Thanks, Hoo.

1 pointI suggested the idea last year (or maybe the year before) that they could incorporate pre season testing into the game to then tell you where the cars weaknesses are, ie start off not knowing how the R&D tree looks but during testing you get to see what aspects need the most work, ie chassis for aerodynamic improvements, engine power development etc. They could also use it as a way of suggesting the ideal difficulty for the game too based on your best lap times, think similarly to the qualifying practice programme where you have to do a series of laps and it could automatically suggest or set a difficulty percentage based off the best lap time before you head off to Australia. I tweeted Paul Jeal back when we had pre season testing earlier this year and here was his response... “sorry but it’s not something in this years game but some nice ideas there & rest assured that we’ve spoken about it many times. It’s on a long list of ideas we have but behind a few others were particularly excited by”. Never say never but for now it looks as though it’s on the back burner but could be implemented later down the line in future instalments. Hope that helps

1 pointI agree it should be an option, maybe it's a three level option Mechanical failures: * AI and player * AI only * Off To me it only really makes sense to be an option in career/my team, as the player has control over durability and car wear, but I don't see why it couldn't be used in Grand Prix mode if the player wants. I agree it should stay out of Online (including leagues) as the player has no control which would be infuriating for random failures.

1 pointThat will be the simulated pollution from the f1 cars, formula E doesn't pollute so there is no haze. Can't say f12019 ain't a simulation. 😁

1 point@obo Thanks for doing a detailed analysis of the every-2-seconds stutter caused by input device polling, and you're an absolute star for providing others with a solution. I usually prefer to avoid using anything that modifies or hooks into games, for fear of triggering some form of anti-cheat or similar, and to avoid the risk of malware... that's just me being as cautious as I would be with any other code, so please don't be offended! In any case, I'm sure we'd all rather this was fixed properly... @PJTierney Is there any news regarding CM integrating this input-device-polling fix natively (into at least DR2.0 & D4 hopefully?), so we don't have to rely on 3rd party hacks/workarounds or unplugging/disabling random USB devices? It looks like @obo has narrowed down the cause quite specifically for the devs, along with suggesting a better method of registering to receive a callback when input devices change, rather than continuously polling all devices every 2 seconds. Or perhaps a quicker/interim solution might be to disable the polling during any on-road action, but leave it active in the menus? Thanks! https://github.com/simonowen/dirtfix/#cause

0 pointsSo going by this video showing off all the character customization options. You seem to be able to choose Michael Schumacher's face but not have Schumacher as the audio name? What would be the point to have his face in the game then? Really disappointing...
