Rivalities eh... is that in the next mortal kombat? "Rivalries" perhaps the word you want? Hamilton v Rosberg was pretty intense, Hunt v Lauda seemed like a big rivalry but was overblown by the press.

Wow. I won, wohooo 😀 That was really close, I mean REALLY close! Monte Carlo was pretty good, had only one almost terminal crash in SS3, but a tree and a car saved me 😄 Sweden was a small disaster, because I did several mistakes in SS2, SS3 and especially in SS4, but I was also way too slow at all times. I was a bit shocked about your dominant performance here, @Dytut! Denim saved my championship, because something must have happend in SS7, because he was also faster than me throughout the rally. So, for the next championship: I don't wanna choose R5, H3 RWD, Group A and 2000cc, because these were the last four classes we had. And I don't like FWD classes that much, so these classes are not an option for me. So I think it's time for some RWD-Action again! The winner is: H2 RWD!

Not being funny but FIFA have done it? Just need Crofty to spend a couple days going through the phone book. 😉

some simple livery this time - Martin Semerád Fabia R5 https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/Škoda-fabia-r5-martin-semerád.34073/

Yes it should be in there as you are managing your own team, now it's important you know what your car capable of is to start a new season.

I'm still waiting for them to put either of my two names in. 😭

Just to finally appease PJ who kept reminding me about this thread.

Spare a though for all the players with the surname Hamilton who can't use it even though it's obviously been recorded for the game.

I also think abut this. Nerea Marti is a young spanish driver that is my friend and this year were going to compete in W Series. Another two good female drivers to be create are Sophia Floersch and specially Jamie Chadwick who has a great future and i think she will compete in F1 in a few years.

Never even thought about this, but I actually love the idea of playing as Schumacher in My Team with a complete avatar including helmet and audio name.

Looking at the new TV advert, it appears the new livery is already in the game, that's pretty amazing to be honest! Some good collaboration going on between Codies and the teams.

No engine makes sense in real life, BUT the CEO of Lamborghini is Stefano Domenicali. Because of this, with the help of a fantasy backstory, Ferrari engine makes some sense.

Are we forgetting about money? Developers like CM run on pre defined budgets with operational margins set years in advance. The amount of money they'll allocate to F1 2020 is set already and it includes both development and post-launch support. "Money" is an umbrella term too, mind you. Money is resources. Personal? Money. Time spent on the project? Money. Severs for online play? Money. Licensing for the tracks? Money. I'd rather have the projected support, with patches, updates, and the eventual extra content than have they put on the effort to bring in tracks to accommodate for an extraordinary F1 season.

Here is the problem, it is not just, it is more like JUST.

In the MyTeam trailer we could saw newer fake sponsors that weren't in F1 2019. I marked these with yellow colour. At the moment there are 62 fake sponsors we can choose from

I suggested the idea last year (or maybe the year before) that they could incorporate pre season testing into the game to then tell you where the cars weaknesses are, ie start off not knowing how the R&D tree looks but during testing you get to see what aspects need the most work, ie chassis for aerodynamic improvements, engine power development etc. They could also use it as a way of suggesting the ideal difficulty for the game too based on your best lap times, think similarly to the qualifying practice programme where you have to do a series of laps and it could automatically suggest or set a difficulty percentage based off the best lap time before you head off to Australia. I tweeted Paul Jeal back when we had pre season testing earlier this year and here was his response... “sorry but it’s not something in this years game but some nice ideas there & rest assured that we’ve spoken about it many times. It’s on a long list of ideas we have but behind a few others were particularly excited by”. Never say never but for now it looks as though it’s on the back burner but could be implemented later down the line in future instalments. Hope that helps

Surely these have to be editable? It’s so subjective that Codies can forget about not being able to please all the people. Fact is they will p**s off most of the people if they subject us to their personal opinions of the drivers. It’s bad enough they usually get the car performance order wrong, but now adding this layer in as well is just going to make for some very odd results! Codies - appreciate what you’re trying to do here, but the only way this will work is to allow us each to edit these to our own views (and while you’re at it the car performance too please).

I keep meaning to write a really long post, but whilst this is in my mind: - Please don't abandon the 'offline' career aspect or competing vs AI - Help give the AI some sense of personality and order - I know you must get tired of RBR glorification, but RBR had AI modifiers for consistency, aggression, mechanical sympathy - That the 'broken' cars you pass in stage are the same ones as on the leaderboard are great, but at the moment I can't even see the liveries each driver is assigned in the UI to know who I've passed and whether they're a rival - I know this assignment is made by the game, because the one you see set off in the animation before a stage loop is consistent with the name ahead of you - Keep the super difficult AI! The only time I've been bored in DR1 or DR2 was the first couple of seasons in DR2 when I could crash and still win stages by a minute - Similarly to drivers, in RBR each car also had attributes - I'd love to be in a position where the defacto 70s class had Stratos' excelling on tarmac but struggling on loose, Escorts being durable rocks that didn't break and 131s being great all-rounders - in R5s in real life, the Citroen has typically had more success on asphalt with the Fiesta being better on gravel and the Fabia being a great all-rounder - only small modifiers, but would be great to have, especially for classes with more varied cars - The dynamic calendars and events you have in DR1 and DR2 are a highlight for me; it's great that each 'season' you compete in is unique - please keep some aspect of this - More care about the development of weather, times of day (should be morning and afternoon by default, with a chance of evening and a small chance of night or dawn) and stage 'looping' (same order of stages in the afternoon that were run in the morning)- Being more ambitious, instead of upgrading your own car and choosing to boost this or that, the quality would be determined by the team you rent a car from for the season, with the option to be hired by a works team for the 'perfect' version of the car (the latter part of which PC2 started to play with) - Redo the car classes, please... I'll rewrite a longer post on this, but the Lancia Delta competed v Ford Sierras and M3s in real life and the Evo VI rallied against the '01 Focus and the two early 2000CC Subarus. That the Stratos is in a different class to the Escort and 131 Abarth is a travesty.

I understand that you cant upload your own sponsors but it would be much better. Look at PES 20. I would love it if you allow us to upload our designed helmets at least. Whats fun about it if I cant have my own signature in the game . Also Codemasters remember this is a private played game on my own computer so no one is gona see my CAMEL Sponsor are they now . So yes it would be grate if we can upload our own sponsors. How about letting us use or choose from the sponsors which have already sponsored F1 Teams . My Team will be my own , no Flashbacks. Can we design the uniforms of the drivers and rest of team. The livery of the Semi Truck ??

My apologies, @BarryBL. Understood about the change of priorities. I'll keep an eye out for another update after these turbulent times have passed. Thank you, and I/we appreciate your prompt reply, in the meantime.

You guys probably have seen it by now, but just in case... here it's the latests racing line from Codemasters regarding the future of Grid Since GRID’s announcement in May last year, we’ve been overwhelmed with the positivity around the series’ return. GRID launched in October to critical acclaim and since then players have enjoyed three new circuits and a half dozen cars to add to their garages all for free, with more cars and Career events made available through GRID Ultimate Edition. Released on Google Stadia at launch, GRID was the first track-based racing title on the cloud-gaming platform. This offered a whole new generation of players the opportunity to enjoy GRID – and its exclusive 40-player Endurance mode – from almost anything with a screen. GRID’s community has been at the heart of all the tweaks and changes made since launch and despite Season 3 being the final season of GRID, every bit of feedback – whether that’s from the Codemasters Forums or across the web – will be passed on for future entries in the series. Whilst this will be GRID’s last inclusion in the Racing Line for a while, it certainly won’t be the last you hear from us. We’ll be keeping the conversation going on our socials, so make sure you’re following on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube for all the latest news on the GRID series. So yeah, basically this is it. The game is now dead. No more seasons will be added. No more cars, NO MORE TRACKS, no comunity features. As I already said, CM will now shift focus torwards PC3, F12020, and Dirt 5. None of em fancy me, specially after paying Grid full price and having an average experience, at the absolute best. On a "kinda" plus note, CM mention "future entries of the series" so maybe, someday, they will undo the bad things they made with Grid 2019. But anyway, the damage is already done for most of us, I think. This will be hard to forget for many (it will be for me). I will now patiently wait for Gran Turismo 7, a series I love (despite the low points). I don't see myself coming back to Codemasters games for a while. Grid leave me hurted, plus nothing new really gets my attention. Stay safe, everyone! And be well :D cya around!

I can relate to that. What is the reaction of most drivers when their engine fails? They get frustrated. People are strange beings, sometimes they want something so badly and when they finally get it it's meh. The problem with mechanical failures in video games is that it's not real and the player knows it. It would be random and from what I read about rain in the game on this forum some people will get screwed over and over. I read about F1 2019 that some people had rain on almost every circuit. I probably had one rainy race in mu first season. What if your engine breaks down almost every race? Is Codemasters screwing with you because of the nasty comment you made on their forum? But the big question: would you accept an engine failure on the last lap in Brazil that makes you loose the championship? I think real drivers have a hard time with that and will say life sucks. That life is our video game. I actually can't imagine someone in that scenario getting al excited and cheering that his engine blew up and he now lost the championship and thinks this is the best game ever. And yes a switch would be nice but is it worth the amount of hours spend on the feature? I'm no coder so I don't know how easy it is to implement randomness, but if rain is already hard to get right I guess mechanical failures is harder to simulate. So is it worth the time implementing it when maybe only 3% leaves the with on? That said I would not be surprised to see mechanical failures in F1 2020 as it fits the My Team narrative very well.
