Oh come on! This is just ridiculous and I need to speak up. Why all of a sudden there should be optional liveries because there is a livery that takes a stance against racism? I didn't see anyone commenting in the Williams livery topic that the new one should be optional. And now all of a sudden there should be options to change the official car livery so there is isn't a black car taking a stance against racism in your game? It's because of this **** they had to introduce the livery in the first place.

Yes, I actually work with them and the second I saw your comment I understood the stupidity of my question. :)

But this ain't an alternative livery. This is the official 2020 livery, not a one-off

@PhenixHeaven, please add the correct bug reporting template if you have seen this issue so we can reference it for 2020

I made an Excel spreadsheet to organize my setups, track my performance, and give me an insight on the AI levels. There are two worksheets in it. The first is for the setups and performance. There's a table for each GP and it is sectioned with the car setup and a few items I find interesting in the Practice Programs and the Qualifying rounds. Alongside the car setups you have slots to fill with setups you find online and there are two columns that will give you (1) the median average for a given slider and (2) the mode average for it – i.e. which value is the most common one, if there is one. This way if you gather a bunch of setups but some of them are outliers, it is easier to identify which ones are on the "right" ballpark. Under the setups you'll be mostly filling in with fuel usage and time laps for the different practice programs and the qualifying. There are rows to compare those laps with (1) your teammate, (2) the 1st CPU in the grid and (3) the 6th CPU in the grid. It goes without saying but you can change those parameters to your heart's desire. The second worksheet is to get a hold on the AI levels. Since your teammate is your first rival, I usually try to set the AI at a level where I'm in unceasing fight with him, either having an edge or infrequently topping him depending if I am the team’s 1st or 2nd driver. From what I heard, you should dial it up or down 1-2 notches for each 0.1 second difference, but this is my first racing game in more than a decade, it is hard as hell to get it right because I’m often improving during that session. To thwart that, instead of simply filling the worksheet with the race AI level, I do a simple average of the whole GP accordingly to the data on the main worksheet. In this second worksheet you will just fill in the AI level, the qualy laps for you, your teammate and the 1st and 6th CPU, and their respective best laps on the race. There are formulas in the delta rows and formatting rules in the cells so it should automatically calculate the delta and highlight the whole thing dependent on it being a positive or negative delta. I did a chart with the qualy deltas just to ease the visualization part of it too, but it came out dreadful. I am using a custom number format for the lap times on the whole workbook. It is [mm]:ss,000 or ss,000 depending on the context. Sorry about the comma, that’s the decimal separator I primarily use on my country and I wasn’t feeling like fiddling with Excel’s underbelly just to adapt it for the rest of the world. The file is partially filled up and it is a mishmashly hodgepodge jumble of numbers. This is not the original file and I wasn’t meticulous on duplicating everything, but at least you’ll hit the ground running already. I'm more of a Word guy, though, and it really shows. The workbook is as ugly as they come. But my intentions were good! Those with a keen eye may notice I used a few official hex codes when color coding some elements... According to this article on Racedpeartment, Codemasters won't include any possible replacement tracks in the 2020 game. https://www.racedepartment.com/threads/f1-2020-any-additional-replacement-tracks-wont-be-included-in-new-game.186305/ So I was really wondering why that is the case? If we just forget possible licensing issues for a moment, technically that should be more than doable? The tracks that is currently talked the most about are Mugello, Hockenheim, Algarve and Imola. Hockenheim should be quite easy to take from F1 2019. Algarve and Imola are both included in PCars2, should also be not a real issue to convert them after the cooperation with SMS. Mugello would need to be redone, but tbh thats something you can expect from a full price and official title like F1 2020 is. You can't really tell me, that a whole studio like Codemasters is not able to come up with 2 or 3 tracks, while the modding community of other games is able to recreate tracks in shorter time and rarely worse quality than "official" tracks.

Good morning, I thought I’d introduce myself. I’m very new to the world of sim racing. I’ve had a Logitech G29 wheel set up for a few years but with a full time job, shifts, and a young family, I’ve barely been able to use it. But watching the Virtual GPs got me hooked, so I bought F1 2019 in May and have been playing as much as I can ever since. I’m desperately trying to win the world championship in career mode before F1 2020 comes out but I’m not sure it’s going to happen! I also own Project Cars 2 which I’ve just started playing, and looking forward to the new Dirt game later this year, having last played one a few years ago. I’m a PS4 racer, my PC is nowhere near up to scratch to start playing games on. However I am looking into upgrading it at some point and transferring over to that platform. I’m also interested in hopefully joining some online leagues and enjoying some good clean racing with other people, unlike the ranked and unranked lobbies which are frankly terrifying into turn 1. All the best!

Yeah that’s correct. There’s another field in a different packet coming in 3.1 too.

Agree, but the patch cycle is over for F1 2019. Hopefully the developers will check for this in F1 2020. It is definitely a bug.

Same colours as my multiplayer helmet. They've clearly been watching me and were impressed.

Might look bad in the game I think, already all black cars (when made custom) look poor on this game engine, it must be something to do with the lighting engine this game has, they always look like weird with lighting

Yeah i do the same. I play championship mode and use practice 3 as my test sessions and do 8hrs. 1hr per for 8 days of testing. Altho this will be reduced to 6 hrs for the 2020 game when i start playing it next year. But would be great if they could put it in the game.

Exactly my thoughts. The first stage of acceleration is arguably the most important one as your speed mid-straight will be mostly determined by how soon and how well you applied throttle. Chain bear has a great video about racing lines that touch on the subject briefly with some math put to it. I have it timestamped here to 2:43. And all gears go through all revs. The system is suggesting you to stay at, say, 11500 revs? Ok, but in 1st or 2nd gear? There is a huge difference to torque vs wheel rotational speed based on the gear you are in. Seems to me that OP is spinning in place, which suggests that his gear ratio is delivering way more torque than his grip allows for and way less wheel speed than he desires. A higher gear will do the trick. Edit: fresh out of the register form? Haha welcome @Mintona

The only thing is, ACC is in a league of its own when it comes to driving physics, nothing else on consoles even comes close (I doubt F1 2020 will, with all respect), and for this reason alone I reckon that sim enthusiasts who play on consoles will not abandon it for other racing games, even with its flaws.

Codes have already been distributed. If you haven’t received one then you have been unsuccessful

I would definitely get the Schumacher edition as you will regret it afterwards. I was lucky to receive free gift code for ps4 Schumacher edition. So I could not be more happy. That way if it's bad I can't moan or complain because its free. I am looking for to the 1994 benetton. Its been available for last few days to preorder on ps4 and steam . That's hope we can correct the cheating Schumacher by not letting Schumacher crash into HILL.. thus make hill the 1994 f1 world champion. Schumacher should have been disqualified. Especially when he said this is in honor of Senna. How dare he.

@danort17, the answer to your question is in the article itself. Quoted from Lee: Speaking during an interview with GP Blog, Codemasters F1 Game Director Lee Mather had the following to say: "Circuits are the most time intense element of the development, with each circuit taking the time equivalent of 1 year of development to create. Along with building the circuits, there’s also the AI to train, the camera placement to set-up." "F1 2020 is based on the original 2020 season and we are delighted to include Hanoi Circuit and Circuit Zandvoort. Unfortunately it is not possible to add new circuits to the revised 2020 season". Technically, its anything but doable. The circuits take an almighty amount of time and we still don't even have a confirmed calendar yet. Simply wouldn't be possible.
