5 pointsIt's slightly off topic but it does annoy me that the AI doesn't make (more) mistakes in the rain. Rain is loved by many spectators in formula 1 because it breaks up the order and it requires a special skill set to do well in. The AI though? It drives through like it does everything else like it's on rails. Even the whole way weather works '15 minutes of this, 15 minutes of that' and everyone pits in at exactly the same time when the 'critical point' is hit and there's only a chance of a tiny advantage if you pit for the right tire one lap earlier. None of what happened in Germany 2018 or 2019. 2018 where drivers incorrectly pitted for inters and were 8 seconds a lap off the pace and 2019 which threw everything we knew out the window.

5 pointsIts entirely optional. Everything can be earned in game through just playing it. Paying for it is a viable option for people who just want everything straight away. Not being forced on you at all.

4 pointsLooks like Codies have finally gone down the devil's path and decided to go all EA on us. What absolute nonsense it is to have a game mode where customisation etc is one of the key aspects, but then give hardly any customisable options and lock the rest behind a paywall. 6 mediocre helmets, and hardly any car liveries and overalls, because you have to pay for the rest, despite already paying around £50 for the game in the first place. Don't bother telling me "you can unlock a lot of it through gameplay" because firstly: you can't unlock ALL the items and secondly: it's just a terrible excuse for CM's to deliberately not include content in the game, so they can add it in at a later date and charge you for it. C'mon Codemasters, do the right thing, surely you know these in-game transactions are just really scummy game practices.

3 pointshello, i am playing on pc, version 1.03. In my first season i had the honda engine. For my second season, i changed the engine to mercedes. Still, i have the honda engine sound. I turn off my pc, restarted the game but still a problem. I tried in time trial using the mercedes and the sound is spot on. Thanks.

3 pointsFirst of all, welcome back to the racing community! I'd say your initial assessment is correct, although instead of saying "go slower", I'd say "go smoother" or "be patient". Smoothness and patience is key with throttle and steering inputs, and while we as humans tend to think that putting in more throttle sooner means we will go faster, that all goes out the window if we are driving in the rain. There was a similar thread going around, so I hope you don't mind if I share a similar collection of suggestions with you. I am by no means an expert, but I do manage to race against 100-103 AI in the rain and keep fairly equal pace with my teammate. Here goes: - In the car setup, increase your wings to something like 7-10 or 8-11, increase your ride height to 7-8 or higher, set your on throttle diff to 50 and off-throttle diff to 65 or higher. These setup changes will give you more grip and stability. - Stay away from kerbs. Those things get super slippery in the wet and will snap you out with no warning. - Aim to minimize wheel spin. In time trial, see how slowly you need to put in throttle out of each corner to avoid any wheel spin whatsoever. You might be surprised to see how much faster slower throttle application makes you. Don't slam the throttle under any circumstances. Usually in heavy rain, it takes me about 3 full seconds to go from 0 throttle to full throttle when coming out of a slow hairpin (such as Austria turn 3, for instance). - Try your best to be as smooth as you can with the inputs. I mentioned that in the previous point about throttle, but the same thing goes for the steering - try to smooth out changes in direction as much as you can and avoid whipping the wheel as much as possible. - If you use manual gears, short shift gears 2-5. A lot. In other words, when you are accelerating out of a corner, shift into the next gear before any of the shift lights on your wheel come on. Typically I do this as soon as I feel a loss in traction: I lift off the throttle slightly (only by 10% or so) and shift into the next gear. - Lastly, try to brake earlier and entirely in a straight line. This game favors trail braking, but in the wet, try to get the bulk of your braking done before you start turning into the corner. It also needs to be said that for some corners, you won't be able to apply 100% of the brake even in a straight line (even if you can in the dry). The second to last turn in Australia comes to mind - in the rain, I tend to max out around 80% braking force there. I hope these help. Great to have you in the community and I hope you enjoy the racing!

3 pointsCan someone explain me why the hell this thread is marked as "solved"? Literally everyone here is still with the problem.

3 pointsNoted, replicated and with Developers. Thanks for the bug report @TeenierNeilb69

2 points1. A detailed description of the issue. Please include any error codes here. Leaderboards appear blank on stadia for time trial, every circuit ( they were full yesterday!) 2. What version of the game you are using (Shown on the start screen in the bottom left corner of the screen) 1.03 3. Game-mode? Time trial 4. What are your replication numbers? Minimum test attempts are 4. Please also add EXACT replication steps for us to try too. Tried 5 times today. Simply open team time trial, select any car, select any track, hit Y for leaderboards and it will be blank. 5. What troubleshooting have you attempted? Please always try to attempt to fix the issue No troubleshooting, not possible 6. What peripherals are you are using (gamepad, wheel make & model etc) Stadia controller, on both chrome tab and chromecast 7. Any screenshots or video of the issue? If the video is long, please include a timestamp for when the issue appears.

2 pointsHas anyone experienced an engine go boom on them for no reason yet? Read a post further down from a dude who said his gearbox went AWOL 8 laps into his first GP. Is it possible that the player now also experiences the mythical mechanical failures? If yes, sweet! If no then codies pretty please ❤️
-
2 pointsPlease can at least 2019 custom helmets be readded. I'm really disappointed in the options this year, the range has always been relatively poor but this year's choices are pants to say the least. If I could choose a design I like a flag style! But just more options would be appreciated. 🙏

2 pointsOnly a fool corrects grammar on an internet forum, please be mindful that for a lot of users here, English is a second language.
-
2 pointsEven driving conservatively in manual or auto, will cause 3% of wear to my gearbox per lap, so I don't think that is the cause of the wear.

2 pointsSadly this practice isn't going anywhere because for as long as a few people buy into it and enough people don't buy the game because it happens, it's going to make them a net profit which is all almost anyone who makes these decisions cares about. May be less true of Codemasters, but it's generally true of the video game industry in general. The idea of having free to play style micro transactions in a full priced game is extremely rude. Codemasters is far from the biggest offender and it's only cosmetic for now, but really I die a little inside when people just 'accept' nonsense like this because how long before we get full blown up free to play style mechanics in full priced games? It's already happened in some cases. So no, I have no patience for excuses like. 'You can earn it through playing and things sometimes have to be earned in games' and 'It's just there to speed things up' or 'it's optional' and 'It's only cosmetic' which the latter is an argument I used to go for but now that is being abused and it's a slippery slope and history has proven this time and time again. Here's the thing. If 'playing the game' to earn something is undesirable and thus you want to 'speed things up' something is wrong, you shouldn't want to 'speed it up', it means that the game is made deliberately grindy to encourage you to open your wallet. Games that traditionally allowed players to unlock stuff had a very clear path on how to do it and you could usually beeline to what you wanted and there isn't a time limit on it either. This is not true in games with a 'buy coins to do x' system. There's usually one way or another they want to trick people into paying for something that they didn't have to pay for before. In this case it's blatantly obvious because some of this content was available in 2019. The real funny thing? In this case, on a personal level I don't even care. I'm not hard to please when it comes to cosmetics on the most part.

2 pointsI would be ok with it, but the basic stuff available (without purchase) is very limited and the PitCoin earning rate is low. And *** is that VIP division, just design to makes things more confusing. It's Star Wars Battlefront 2 all over again. They are adding loot boxes next, and buy your card pack to have a chance to hire your favorite driver as teammate.
-
2 pointsI'm confused too.. Yes I'm missing my pre order coins Yes there's bugs I bought coins and ice completed to level 30 that's my choice But get off your high horse no one is asking you to purchase anything, and for bugs etc @BarryBLand the whole codemasters team working hard to put this all right. What's complaining and whinging going to achieve. So last from me thanks @BarryBLand codemasters keep up good work and all will come good in the end
-
2 pointsGood post @BarryBL, now about those pitcoins that we're missing so we can't purchase the VIP pass...
-
2 pointsUntrue @UnderclassGDfan We have designed the Podium Pass with this exactly in mind. If you reach Level 30, you receive enough Pitcoin back (with change) to buy the next season as well as earn all the extra stuff. Maths: Price Of VIP: 9k. Pitcoin earned if you get to Level 29 of the Podium Pass: 10k. Amount of Pitcoin given to you at the start of the game with Pre-Order: 15k. So, you could (and should) use 9k of the Pre-order money to enable the VIP pass to start grinding the pass. You then have 6k to buy extra stuff, or save for top ups at the end of Season 1 to complete it, earning you the VC for Season 2. The bolded text in the quote is somewhat true, but is also the same as all over 'Pass' systems. Fortnite is the best example. My final point, these customisation options do NOT improve your performance and are optional and visual. You can choose not to interact with them or not and your game performance will be the same. Remember, Seasons run in cycles and stuff for Season 2/3 etc are not confirmed yet. It would be illogical to simply give away all of Season 1's content, without challenging the player to interact with the game and earn the tiers. Would defeat the whole object of the pass being used to encourage players to complete challenges and earn levels. I do the same with Fortnite. I'm not the best player, but I use my coins in a way where I can save and buy the Battle Pass, or work out how quickly I can get it so I can choose when to spend money. Should I really, really want something, I may get it. Supply and Demand. To be honest, I normally don't but when I do, I don't want everyone having it because I chose to buy it. But I also would get a lot of stuff for simply playing, which is fair.
-
2 pointsSo you saying that they added microtransactions and store that screams "BUY MORE COINZZZZ" but that they "haven't done it to charge people"? How childishly naive are you? 🙄
-
2 pointsIf anything I was pleasantly surprised that everything is unlockable through challenges and earning XP, there isn't a single item that you can't obtain without paying as far as I'm aware. The VIP pass to unlock rare/premium items can be 'purchased" with Pitcoins, which are also earnable by simply playing the game. If you pre-ordered you got enough coins for the season 1 pass, and then you should be able to earn enough if you level up to unlock future seasons as well.
-
2 pointsNot everything is behind a paywall. You unlock items by playing the game. To be fair if you did preorder the game than almost nothing is behind a paywall. If you did preorder you got enough Pitcoins to unlock the VIP Pass which will let you unlock everything and most importantly let's you win enough pitcoins to buy a new VIP Pass.

2 pointsI have the same issue with Xbox 1.02. Had renault engine and changed to honda, but the engine has still sounds of an renault engine.
